Took the train ride in May 2023. We sat in the open side car and enjoyed every minute of the ride. You see one side going up and the other side going down. Well worth the cost.
I would have guessed narrow gauge speeders to be a real oddball item (and I was unaware that the CN ever had any narrow gauge trackage). Or is the gauge on speeders field adjustable?
The speeder was built in 1985 as a standard gage speeder, purchased from CN around 2005 and converted to narrow gauge. All that was needed was new axles and some additional welding. Not easily to convert back to standard gage.
You need to join a national speeder organization, take a rules test, buy liability insurance, and buy a speeder. Take a look at www.narcoa.org for more information.
Nope! I was the car in front of Dave and right behind the pair. I just kept my distance and she kept an eye on me. Once the land between the track and river widened they ambled into the woods. They're fine.
LOVE this video! What fun!!
Love the subject and thank you for sharing. I wish the video had been better quality. The train ride is truly wonderful

CN had narrow gauge for the Newfoundland operation, now sadly abandoned. 2023/08/28. Ontario, Canada.
23.53 looks like Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad
Yes, you are correct, only person to notice.
@beavercar I have ridden both several times but I think a speeder ride would be to cool
Huge variety/style of machines. Where do you find them?
The Canadian National speeder is the best one .
It's a Beaver. Built in Canada by the Beaver Railcar company. It has hydrostatic drive like a lawn tractor. Some were diesel powered.
Do you work for the Railroad or is this something you can pay to do?

forced that moose and her baby into the river, man that was messed up
After a few hundred feet land between railroad and the river widened and moose left the right of way. Moose were definitely not forced into the river.
