Interesting... but I'd like a run through of the entire wye. What does the north EoT look like?
Track gauge 3 ft (914 mm)
Correct, 36" narrow gauge
Very cool! I got a 424 last year and got it working, but the sound quality isn't that great, still need to troubleshoot a bit more. My brother found a 433 like yours abandoned near his house, I said grab that thing, spare parts! But after I got it home, I decided to try and restore it instead. I love these things!
Love it, very interesting video! - is that a museum or a work facility? Where is it?
Great work. Keep it up. 😊
How far north past the end of regular service is this, anyway? Has there been any thought to extending the northern extent to Shirleysburg, so there is a potential destination with some parking for trains to start from or go to to complement the extension south of Orbisonia? IIRC, the organization that just sold the EBT standard gauge 0-6-0 out of the Mount Union engine shed owns the track starting from the Aughwick Bridge north.
Only about a trains length North of the switch for the wye at Colgate Grove. East Broad Top is busy rebuilding the track south so I believe there are no plans to extend the track north bound.
Yeah it’s only a bit for the Wye at Colgate Grove. There was a grant a few years ago that said it would be to return service to Shirleysburg… but that’s clearly not a focus currently because of the big push to Saltillo. Shirleysburg isn’t a destination town either, and any extension there would require a backup move to the wye at Colgate Grove. So for now, until there a plan in the LONG LONG LONG term future to head to Mt. Union, don’t expect much on the north part of the line.
@@beavercar Shirleysburg is well within the portion of the line owned by the EBT Foundation. However as previously stated at the moment the emphasis is on restoring service to Saltillo. As the organization which owns the Mt. Union yard south to the concrete bridge seems to be semi-defunct, it is my personal hope that eventually the EBT foundation can take title to the north end so that the entire railroad will be whole once again. The operative word being "eventually."
A different organization owns the trackage from the groves to mount union.
They own from the concrete bridge north to mt union. Ebtf everything south of the bridge.
thanks for the update and video. always glad to see progress
Parkinsons Sucks!
Forgot my gimbal. Will bring it next time.
❤Wonderful workshop karryl work congratulations pictures American ❤.
Seeing this makes me so happy. The local high school is going to love EBT trains passing through their their front yard in the near future when this line gets pushed to Saltillo!
Excellent paving job guys! You should be proud.
Get some "Gimbal" software or stabilization software.
Have the Osmo Mobile SE Smartphone 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer. Sorry, forgot to bring it.
After 68 years the crossing is finally reopened!
That crossing looks fabulous!!! Nice job everybody!!!!
They wouldn't let you cross yet ? Cool video
Correct, track is not "in service" so not yet permitted to cross.
@@beavercar And won't there have to be proper signs and road markings before it is in service?
@@gravelydon7072Yeah, both have to be added yet
@@beavercar I'm kinda surprised PennDOT isn't requiring full crossing gates and lights since this is across a state highway, or is that just not installed yet?
@@crazydog1243Likely not installed but it’s not clear whether they’ll add the standard gate signals or not since that section of the line is still being worked on
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Good video. I see some of the rails are quite wobbly, but makes for a decent ride either way. Looks like the crew is working on expanding the rails a bit. That’s a good thing. Having an extra flat car sure makes traveling the rails a bit fun. Good for carrying some camping equipment or extra people. I’m not sure where this takes place & shall investigate more. I’ve always liked speeders & tried to buy a couple recently. I shall learn more about them & find a place to run them before I buy one I guess. Who knows. Such a good hobby! We enjoy trains, trucks & aviation. Good ride. Thanks for some insight. Blessings my friend! 🤩😎✌️
This is very interesting. Is your speeder capable of dual gauge somehow?
Not really. Would have to completely replace the two axles, hubs, and brake rigging. For me not worth it as I have the same car in standard gauge.
Zoom...😊
Zoom...😊
Great video clip...👍
how does your speeder accommodate the narrow-gauge tracks vs standard?
Awesome job on the track restoration, we need to get back soon ❤
My grandfather use to ride alot in those speeders when he was working for CN in Northern Ontario in the 80's
This speeder was made in 1985 for CN by a company called Barre welding in a suburb of Toronto Canada
@@beavercar It's actually "Barrie" Welding, located in Barrie, Ontario about 90 miles North of Toronto. I've been there on business, it's a huge shop. Also, there used to be a CP shop in Toronto that had about 20 speeders sitting outside. This was in 1995 and the building is long gone and so are they. They were mostly Fairmonts and most had cabs.
❤
Cool video, well done Dave!
What great fun to have, Thanks for sharing!
Thanks For The Ride Dave.

I had the oil tank. I think it was either Shell or Texaco. You could adjust the tone of the whistle with a set screw
Yes, there is a set screw on the end of the horn which adjusts the volume.

Always with railroad permission. Lead car is railroad employee that receives the required track authority
Wow. That brings memories. I had one as a kid - not sure what happened to it though
One of the ways you can tell how often the tracks are used is by how shiny the top of the rails are. These rail tops look like they are well travelled. I would definitely not want to walk between these rails, except only to cross them.
And never ever step on top of shiny railroad rails. if you do, be prepared to sllip and fall down
Is that a narrow gauge railroa
Yes, 36" narrow gage

You showed a cave with uneven walls at 15.00. Our ancestors made those caves with the equipment which was available at that time. Today we have Tunnel Boring Machines which dug a beautiful cave. Here in India railways play an important role. Millions of people come into city from suburban.

Yes, you are correct, only person to notice.
@beavercar I have ridden both several times but I think a speeder ride would be to cool
