Of course it is live rail. This is the WACR Lyndonville Sub. About a train a day 5 days a week and could be more now if CPKC gets more traffic from Farnham QC
My Washington county has a railway over lake water also, To speed coal delivery to a harbor dock in the Age of Sail. Now private property as is the mining works.
3-D camera wouldve been cool on this excursion. Also, there seems to be quite a shine on the top of that rail. Looks like these are used often for this type of travel. I would love to do this someday. Definitely on the bucket list! I keep on imagining somebody walking out on the rails from the woods out of nowhere. That would be totally freaky. I would P myself
Yeah a 3d camera would be cool although expensive. I have seen others with 360 cameras though. the rails are shiny because the tracks are used every week day by freight trains. And yeah. My concern is not a person but a large animal like a deer running out in front of the car. especially because this is a small open car it would really suck
Your speeder sounds so authentic (wheels clanking) I wish I can grab a ride on it with you, I love trains and ride on amtrak frequently thanks for the video!!!
I don't suffer from a stiff neck, nor am I wearing a neck brace. I don't know anyone, except perhaps an English butler, who travels static, motionless, staring straight ahead, without moving his head to see curiosities and landscapes on the sides of the road. No one travels like this.
That M-19 speeder moves along at a good clip. at the speed you guy's travel you could offer commuter rides specially with all those little towns you move through just build a bigger speeder with more seats, because if you notice you have not sopped and the traffic is light, if I had to get somewhere fast that would be the best way to go,
I could imagine the health and safety would have a field day with that. Unless you could get everyone to sign to say it's down to them it's their choice, otherwise the insurance to use it as a public service would be huge! And surely if you got caught doing that it's a prison sentence? I'm not sure on the law's of your country but in the UK anything like that would possibly be a prison sentence. It's a shame though because it's a great idea! Need a bigger engine capacity and another cart behind possibly up to 12 seats 💺 🚆 yeahh..
i would like to add to the comment is its very intresting traveling the railes in a rail car and also fun also i would like know because im very curius what kind of engine is powering the rail car because i never seen any thing like this thats a very cool way tp travel
Depends on the motorcar. This M19 is a belt driven car and could go around 25-30 perhaps 35-40 if the weather is perfect and engine is in top shape. MT-19 is about the same. The larger "A" cars also known as Gang cars as they were large enough for an entire track gang and towing some trailer cars with ties and such. My A6 that I am turning into a Plymouth Switcher (someday) has a Ford straight 6 and transmission so guessing it could do 50-60 perhaps faster although I do not ever want to go that fast with it.
Open cars are better!!!!!! Until it rains and then it really sucks..especially when it is cold autumn rain. Found that out last year. Last 4 miles it poured rain.
Surely your reaching 35 - 40mph ? 60 km/h ? Great engine. Love how smooth it is, somebody has already asked this question but how would you be able to transport public for different stops? Because I'm not sure about the law's in your country but in the UK health and safety would be brutal. And the insurance would be astronomical!! Or could you get passengers to sign to say they agree it's their own choice 🤔 Just out a matter of interest?
Sign the wavier. You can't just pick up passengers though. Every person riding the cars MUST be at the safety breifing each morning before the excursion departs. So, if you are a operator and a friend wants to ride along with you, they would need to sign all the paperwork, the Event Cordinator would need to be okay with that, and they would have to be at the safety breif.
@@Island_Line_Rail_Productions yes so it's all been agreed on all parties. This just wouldn't happen here in the UK health and safety would be through the roof! Mind you, nobody here in the UK would because there's no beautiful old tracks and scenery like there is where you are! 😂😂 fair play though!
NARCOA Rulebook Rule 4.05 4.05 Grade Crossings. On-track equipment (OTE) does not have the right-of-way at grade crossings. OTE must be prepared to stop short of all grade crossings and proceed only when safe to do so. Be prepared to stop for vehicles and pedestrians that may run around crossing gates or flaggers. Check flangeways for obstructions and make sure that you have room on the other side of the crossing before proceeding. Automatic grade crossing signals will not ordinarily be activated. When they are activated, however, the protection may be limited because waiting traffic expecting trains may not see OTE and may ignore warning signals. No OTE may enter a grade crossing until it is safe to do so. Horns shall not be used as a substitute for the crossing rules above.
Eu fico imaginando aqui Voce andando nisso em boa velocidade e do nada em uma curva aparece uma lokomotiva na frente sera que daria tempo de sair dos trilhos
Negative NARCOA rulebook 1.05 Audible Warning Device. On-track equipment must be equipped with an audible warning device. Excessive or unnecessary use of loud horns should be avoided. The use of horns, except as an emergency warning, should be avoided when approaching grade crossings as we are required to yield the right of way to approaching highway traffic and the use of horns may confuse motorists.
I was just kidding a bit, but I'm sure many Scandinavian immigrants felt very much at home in a couple of US states. Just watch all these dark red farm buildings, they all got names like "Pederson & Son" up front.
Personally, IO dislike heavy petrol motor vehicles for rail travel. Too heavy to carry around rocks or other obstructions. I favor 3-wheel bicycles on rails for touring. Quiet also.
Just a joke ! some ? speeder folk use the main freight lines on ( very quiet ) days , with their permission , this would be a railroad nightmare ( OMG ) .. DAVE™🛑@@Island_Line_Rail_Productions

im thinking twice of building rail car. your way out in no where and you wipe out , get hurt. whos going to come get you. and how are they going to get there. no hospital near by. maybe im a pussy but right now i just ride my ebike
why would you build one? you can buy one from sellers on NARCOA and Railspeeders.com. and no. you are ALWAYS with an excursion. otherwise you are trespassing on railroad property.
The shine on the top of the rail is evidence.... that is live track! Good luck!

Thanks! Where abouts do you live? If there is a motorcar club near you, you could ask for a ride at an excursion or club track.

Engine is a Fairmont RO engine.
Two cycle "popper".
Amazing! How fast can the cart go on no grade?

Although on the same track as trains all trollies and even adapted road vehicles such as cranes have to give way to cars on grade crossings
NARCOA Rulebook Rule 4.05
4.05 Grade Crossings. On-track equipment (OTE) does not have the right-of-way at grade crossings. OTE must
be prepared to stop short of all grade crossings and proceed only when safe to do so. Be prepared to stop for

crossing until it is safe to do so. Horns shall not be used as a substitute for the crossing rules above.
Depending on RR, Trollies do not have to stop. Some have grade crossings like light rail or heavy rail, but most do not
That is almost the same rule as in GCOR as a lot of the NARCOA rules come from GCOR and NORAC rule books
iI want to ride that too...

What was your top speed?
Around 35 mph
That's all?
yep...we had a GPS for speed so it should have been pretty accurate. it looks fast as it is a open car and low to the ground
That explains it, but I really believed it was faster.
It looks faster because of the wide angle GoPro lens.
heard the drone is there a link to its video//??
The drone was just for a couple photos as my memory card apparently was full but I only realized that after I took off:/

Se nao tivesse o perigo de encontra um trem na linha isso seria uma otima opcao de transporte economizaria tempo e dinheiro

How do you get permission to use the rail
By being a part of NARCOA. The event coordinator works with the railroad to make these excursions possible. It does cost money of course
Max Speed 50 km/h
Please slow down so we can c the scenery
Nah
what if moose jumps out or bigfoot. you will fall off . then what
you die or are injured ,,,,,,,, you dont have much chance of surviving even in a car so a small motorcar would be worse.
