Exactly, and besides Pirlo is taking small steps in revitalizing the squad by introducing many younger players into the mix while also tweaking Sarri's tactics that did not seem to work well last season. If anything, they are doing fine despite the slow start, and they will only get better as a whole.
I don't know where this confidence comes from. Do you honestly believe Allegri or Conte's Juve would struggle to deal with the current crop of title challengers?
In short, Juve's experienced a decline while the other clubs have come to rise and are rising. Add to that, literally every club in the league has more experienced coached than Juve.
@@kurdiRed Juve have been in decline for a lot of reasons other than coaches. Paratici is one of them. In the past, Juve brought in players but not at a price/wage that would be a serious risk if they failed. Case in point eljero elia, didn't work was shipped out. This hasn't been possible after Marotta left. Not to mention, Ronaldo earning high wages hasn't helped with the wage structure.
This all sounds like what Lampard wanted for Chelsea. Implementation of their principles, however, is a lot harder than just talking about what they want.

Lol there is no way that this Juve Team should be 7 Points behind Milan especially considering how many key players Milan have been missing throughout the season so far. Time is needed to build up an idea in football. I hope you will read my comment, your analysis is great. I'm italian and I am a Juventus fan, i follow every match, and I appreciate the work of Pirlo, who is sharing european ideas, without being too drastic. It is an investiment for the future, following the evolution of football: if we wanted to win Serie A, we could only keep Allegri and we would have won 20 years. It can also help the movenent of italian football, with other offensive and propositive teams like Verona, Sassuolo and Atalanta. Probably Inter will win this year, but it's okay, they play a defensive football and in Europe it can't be successfull. However when Arthur and Dybala will be totally implemented in this team, I think that our football we be more fluent. I like your analysis about roles, now we don't have positions but everyone has a task. A defensive playmaker, Bonucci, an aggressive center back, Chiellini (De Ligt do both); a midfield playmaker, Arthur, a wing back at right, Cuadrado, and a full back at left, Danilo (Alex Sandro can do both and the rotation can be also on the other flank); a classic wing, Chiesa, on the same wing of the full back (he can play right or left); a box to box in pressing, Bentancur, and a "raider" McKennie or Ramsey, who plays in the same section of the wing-back and attach the box, but plays as wing in the 442 in defence; finally a striker, Morata, and a second striker, Ronaldo or Dybala. We have a good potential
Thanks for your comment Gionatan! We're pleased that you appreciated the analysis of the roles. It's a brave strategy from Juventus, but Pirlo has a very clear plan - hopefully in time the potential will be fulfilled! 🤞
@@Tifo I'm surprised you guys didn't talk about the main weakness of Juve, and that is defending counter attacking transitions. That has been the biggest flaw for Pirlo this season, and the lack of a specialist DM hasn't helped. The high line with Bonucci's lack of pace has been exploited by literally everyone in Serie A. I hope you guys get more info from people who have watched a lot of Juve games this season, not just making conclusions from stats.
@@abhinandukanil3415 you are absolutely right, Pirlo wants high pressure but often between defense and midfield they leave too much space. It is because of some defenders like Bonucci is used to defend waiting and not being aggressive. With De Ligt, Bentancur and McKennie in the 11, this problem is less relevant, we can keep ball higher, and it is going better in the last weeks. Also Arthur is important because with the brazilian on the pitch, Bentancur don't have to be the first playmaker and can be concentrated on recovering balls and press. I hope in the market we can buy a dinamic defensive mid and sell Rabiot who is not the right guy to play Pirlo's football

The main problem, as a Juve fan, is that Pirlo had very little time with the team as pre season was non existant this year. This meant he couldn’t instruct the team properly this summer, explaining the slow start of the season as this new way of playing is very different from allegri’s and even sarri’s. But now that he’s had more time and is gaining more experience, the team is doing quite good and it seems that we bounced back from the defeat against inter
Excellent explanation, but another key factor is the mentality of the players. Juve have been always a very slow and static team, and sometimes the motivation to keep moving is hard to find, resulting in draws and losses. When they show some concentration though the team often dominates and eventually win
Maybe his problem is he already announced his playbook before the season started? Any decent coach will study the shit out of it to look for any advantages. Juve started with a handicap purposely. Pirlo is also new to have mutiple playbook for backup plan.
Lol no, he said in his thesis that he prefers to play with a 433. But he changed it up because he wanted to fit Ronaldo in a front two, instead of letting him be a winger. Also, our midfield is very poor, that's why he wanted the playmaking to go to Cuadrado and Dybala if he'd in form. Our main issue is that we don't have a specialist DM who can help out in transitions. That's where Pirlo has failed the most for me. The high line with Bonucci struggling to run fast, along with the midfield going even further up field is a recipe for disaster. A good sign is that Pirlo seems to have identified that Arthur, Bentancur and McKennie is our best midfield for now
simple lazio going into their x season with inzaghi like atalanta inter going in their second so do milan napoli and roma all those teams mentioned are now playing together for more than 2 years juve are still amazing but they lack continuity
Loving the content. Could we maybe get something on Georgios Giakoumakis? He just scored 4 goals in a game in the eredivisie for the second time this season, and he’s at over a goal a game now (20 in 19). People would be taking about this more imo
I don't think there's any need to panic, they need time to gel and play the way Pirlo wants. This season is weird since there was no pre-season so everything is just so up in the air and anything can happen
He is to be honest unlucky. Bonucci nowadays plays bad, Chellini Remains injured, De Ligt still adjusting to the league. So their main strength defence is no longer there. Inter have regained their old form and with Conte they are now serious title contenders. Milan, inspired by Ibrahimovic is a title contender too. Apart from the 2-0 loss to Inter there was not a single match where he was tactically destroyed. He might make them qualify for champions league but anything more is gonna be surely an achievement.
@J K no idea wth you are talking about. I just thought the phrasing was funny. Sounds like Prostate Cancer helped produce the video. I mean i know what you are trying to say, as if I'm some wokeboi trying to make a political point, but actually it is you who sees politics in everything even in a joke. Grow up
It’s going to take time and I think the board will give it to pirlo unlike with Sarri. I would like to see some more reinforcements upfront; Darwin Nunez, Vlahovic (yes, another Fiorentina player) or Mallen would be great additions. And, Sosa (LB for Stuttgart) would fit the system.
I do want to point out that the one point difference last season is also caused by Juve being sure of the title 3 gemes before the end of the season. They didn't play to their full strenth afterwards and it showed.
I feel like since Ronaldo's arrival, they have been more dependent on him in creating chances and goals, whether this is deliberate or not. But imo it hasn't improved the team
IMO Pirlo is doing two things right as a manager - bringing a lot more younger players into the mix to fix a previously aging Juve squad (such as Chiesa, Kulusevski, McKennie and Frabotta alongside the likes of De Ligt and Demiral in the team), as well as tweaking the tactics in order to overcome the problems of Sarri's football last season. Sure, it was not a perfect start for a club of Juventus' standards, but the signs of massive improvement are evident as the players are finally clicking to his tactics, and the long-term fruits will be worth it for the club. I say give Pirlo a chance.
Considering: 1 - Pirlo has never coached before, ever 2 - Team had no pre-season thanks to COVID 3 - Lots of new and young players in the squad playing together for the first time this season 4 - New tactics and game plan compared to Sarri and Allegri To be only 7 points off the top spot with a game in-hand and still half the season to go, I'd say they're doing pretty damn good.
I mean, come on are we seriously surprised that a club that hired an ex player is struggling now? Big clubs are only hiring managers on the basis of whether they have played for them or not. Arsenal, Chelsea, Juve, Barca, United and Bayern have hired an ex player as manager over the last couple of years. Only Bayern under Flick have had great success under that manager, and United seem like the only club that can succeed (Ole hasn't fully succeeded mind you). The rest? Well the less we talk the better. Everyone expects them to turn out to be Pep or Zidane when in reality those managers have had the luxury of world class players at their disposal who had won a CL title before they took over (same as Flick, tho I'm not discrediting either of those managers). Football is just getting boring at this point where "culture" and "tradition" and "nationality" is being given more importance than actual ability or CV. Clubs are overthinking and that is what will be their downfall.
And experience guarantee success? Mourinho failed at man u, ancelotti failed at napoli. What boring is your way of thinking that this stuff have an absolute formula, while in reality its still a gamble.
But in case Man United I'd say that was the perfect appointment just to remind the values of the club. As a United fan I don't care about what people tell About Ole not being a Tactically astute manager. I mean we've had 2 of the best tactically astute manager in football history. With Ole I feel like there has been a mentality shift in the team and Ole has made man United players hungry to win.
Be grateful that tradition and culture according to you is being valued in a sport where it is being lost. Besides, if you don’t give chances how will new good world class players or coaches arise? They need to start from somewhere and build a legacy just like Pep and Zidane did 😂 otherwise we’d end up with the same monotonous players and coaches rotating around squads every now an then. Very stupid comment.

Pirlo wants to play with possesión and Juventus was acostumed to be a Defensive team... Thats why Sarri also struggled... Making a team change to a diffrent style is really hard.
Sarri converted Juve into a possession football club. They didn't struggle. However, Sarri has only one way of playing. No tactical variation. Pirlo on the other hand seems very versatile. Juventus are playing better under Pirlo.
Would like to see more what's going wrong and a what's going right in the future maybe one on both Glasgow team of Celtic(what's going wrong) and rangers(what's going right)
Hi Tifo Football! Mi view - list of things are going wrong with Juventus: - Andrea Pirlo It's been nearly 6 months now from the start of the season so we can summarize a bit. You say one of Pirlo's key principles is build up from behind - true. Problem is: the team is very poor at doing it. Reasons? In my opinion, it is very easy for the opponent to predict how they would build up/what player to mark. In most occasions, Juve ends up looking for players centrally, where they have more quality players. I think that if tomorrow Juve is playing vs Atalanta, which is the best team in SerieA at ultraoffensive pressing and now in great shape, they'd never pass their midfield. Another principle: Pirlo believes in technical skills and creative play/improvisation in the attacking third - true. Problem is: the most creative player (Dybala) was mostly sitting on the bench, he played 1 great match against AC Milan and now got injured. What remains is: Morata, Ronaldo (worst Ronaldo ever seen), Chiesa, Kulusevsky. I would define as "creative" just 1 out of these 4 players, the Swedish. And he's a kid coming from Parma. Other issues: - team's attitude on the pitch - in 10 years, never seen Juventus defending so passively. The team always looks vulnerable when defending in its area. - offensive pressing. They are often poorly coordinated when pressing the opponent during its build up; the opponent is therefore overtaking easily the pressing line, creating a situation of open ball with Juventus 50m far from its goal. That's exactly what happened against Inter, for instance. - lack of coach guidance/judgement during games. But this is actually something I wouldn't focus on, as Pirlo has no coaching experience before Juventus, not his fault really Despite this, Juventus have such strong players they managed to be 7 points far from the 1st place today. I have great respect of coaches' job, but I have to say Pirlo is doing a mess with the best team in SerieA. He's lucky he has been Juve's President choice, so he's still sitting on that bench... by now
We will be fine. this is just a result of having no preseason and a coach who is learning on the fly. his system is interesting and unique with lots of potential
@Real Steve no way it’s a possibility lmao get real. The difference with Zidanes team and our team is Zidane actually had a world class team. We have a few world class players but it’s not enough
Good video but some clear issues are not touched. Pressed is better but is still weak and ineffective compared to other top pressing teams and it ruins defensive structure so team is worse prepared to face attacks when press fails. Pirlo also tries to keep high line with juve but it doesnt fit multiple defenders (especially Bonucci) what causes even less defensive stability and makes the players look bad.
We are settling inti rhythm.2021 thus far except the match vs inter. This is long project & i think we are doing well. Also vs SPAL in copa italia & also vs genoa we won with youngsters. Good thing take time. Plus we had injury problems & dearth of good fullbacks. In mid apart from weston others are not upto mark being mostly hit & miss. We expect more from kulusveski. We missed cuadrado sandro too. Cuadrado specially has become imp with his crosses.Sandro can give good crosses. Chiesa with his speed & individual capacity is a great player. I think we need this transition. Pirlo is flexible & want to learn. Already we won super cup. So time to have patience. Oh & mckennie is a huge talent. His positional sense is great , has great attacking intelligence, runs all over field, a player which suits pirlo system in taking back posession of the ball as early as possible. Only problem is his finishing. One drawback of pirlo system i think is we are prone to counter attacks. Also build from back lead to errors due to pressing by opponents & we dont have a mid with a great vision, so we see silly mistakes & obvious runs ignored sometimes. Morata is doing great & is one of our answer to striker problem.
What are you talking about, this Juventus team is crap, without Ronaldo they would be a mid table team. All teams have turned to shit, that's why you have Milan and Inter challenging for the title. Imagine this Milan side playing against MSN Barcelona, they would lose 6-0 easily.
Who's feeling nostalgic and want the 90s, 00s Seria a to be back, although juve is my favorite Italian team, they've dominated too long we need competition
As a Juve fan I have to say that this video hasn’t shown the REAL problem at Juve. The problem at Juve is Bonucci, the injuries at defense and the underwhelming performance of the midfield (except Arthur and McKennie), Bonucci has caused nearly all penalties against Juve last two seasons (2019-2021), the injured defense has caused lot of rotation and mismatches that opponents have taken advantage (Hakimi > Frabotta), and Bernardeschi, Bentancur, Rabiot and Ramsey have been so inconsistent and with poor performances against both title contenders and relegation teams. At least the team showed their true potential against Milan and dominated the Supercoppa.
Nothing is wrong Pirlo didnt have a preseason, so he cannot train his team tacticaly (and with 2 games per week, he cannot do it now either) I think we didnt fully realize that : without a preseason, in the modern era, that's impossible to work properly. Tuchel and Pochetino this year will work on mental, physical preparation maybe, and tactical but they cant organize great sessions with all the squad Against Juve, Inter is very strong with a style worked since summer 2019, and Milan is in a incredible form since the last summer And despite that Juve isnt far, so they can still win the title But even if the dont, nothing better could be done now
The problem is simply that Pirlo, so far, is no one as a coach. In Italy, football is more tactical and pragmatic. Tactical skills and pragmatism are only gained with experience though, while Pirlo has none as a manager. Historically in Serie A, "freshman" coaches have often failed in the first few years, while experienced coaches with years of work behind are just more successful. Juve hoped to repeat what Zidane made at Madrid with Pirlo, but football is different in Italy and Spain.
Well, you didn't say what is wrong, so it was a bit of a clickbait, but at least everything you said was right. I think the problem with Pirlo is that he is a novice trying to run before learning how to crawl; he didn't have a preseason and expected to start playing with extremely high pressure and 5 men attacks, and we struggled a lot with that, specially in the first game against Barsa in champions. Then he decided to lower the pressure and to play more calmly and we are doing way better, but the team needs a lot of work; he wants to play total football with players rotating but either in attack or defence I see the players confused/lost. And the main issue is the midfield, no matter who starts, they all seem a bit off in terms of positioning, in marking and specially in build up play, that's why we rely so much on the wings and Cuadrado is the player with the most assists, but on the other wing we have Fabrotta, who, let's face it, doesn't have the skills to play at Juve. I think a player like Pogba, Aouar or De Paul could help in the build up play, I like Locatelli too, but I'm not sure if he is the man we need. And we definitely need to get Pellegrini back.
Well, it's more like Serie A is more competitive this year than the past decade (which makes it exciting). Besides, Pirlo is a fairly new manager and has no experience yet so give him a little bit of time to settle down.
Here are 2 main tactical issues with this Juve so far, since the video fails to show what its title says: 1- Juve's defensive shape. Absolute mess. The transitioning from back 3 to back 4 during play appears, expectedly, not an easy task. It keeps creating so many marking mistakes. Danilo might be doing better this season as a hybrid 3rd center back/full back, but he's no Barzagli. 2: Their pressing plan is still not working. Honestly, it seems rather random. Players do not seem to know ahead which opponent they're supposed to pressure. Both issues are kinda related; the team is just not good without the ball.
you forget to mention other competitors have established their team and tactics, plus juve dont have time to friendly match to blend their team with new manager and new transfers which is many expected to become starting line up.
Do you even watch Seria A? This is the strongest Seria A in 10 years. Almost all the other teams have improved a lot. Juventus have more competition than they ever had these past 10 years, except Napoli team with 91 points in 17/18. Pirlo only lost 2 matches so far in Seria A and are still in the scudetto. He even got 1st in his chl group. And with Ronaldo, the club are trying to be less dependent on him. Sure Pirlo is a work in progress, only 1 week experince when he took the job, but the greenhorn are doing fine so far. The other teams deserve credit for stepping up to Juve.
They couldn't put up with their previous always-in-a-tracksuit manager so they hired a sharp dressed one, despite the fact he had no previous managing experience to guide them through a hell of a season to come. Juventus, ladies and gentlemen.

Also Arthur is important because with the brazilian on the pitch, Bentancur don't have to be the first playmaker and can be concentrated on recovering balls and press.

I love how the statue of Pirlo is a reference to Niccolo Machiavelli's statue in Florence

Can you do a transfer one for juve please?
Love how that caricature of Horncastle is my exact expression every time his name comes up
I don't think there's any need to panic, they need time to gel and play the way Pirlo wants.

This is Pirlos first job as a manager and the type of football he wants to play is hard to manage its gonna be bumpy.
I say give Pirlo a chance.

honestly, everything that Pirlo and Juve are trying to do are very standard in modern football.
Hi Tifo Football! Mi view - list of things are going wrong with Juventus:
- Andrea Pirlo
It's been nearly 6 months now from the start of the season so we can summarize a bit.
Other issues:
- team's attitude on the pitch - in 10 years, never seen Juventus defending so passively.
But this is actually something I wouldn't focus on, as Pirlo has no coaching experience before Juventus, not his fault really
Despite this, Juventus have such strong players they managed to be 7 points far from the 1st place today.
I have great respect of coaches' job, but I have to say Pirlo is doing a mess with the best team in SerieA. He's lucky he has been Juve's President choice, so he's still sitting on that bench... by now
Greetings from Dar es Salaam,Tanzania 🇹🇿

We will be fine. this is just a result of having no preseason and a coach who is learning on the fly. his system is interesting and unique with lots of potential
@Real Steve no way it’s a possibility lmao get real. The difference with Zidanes team and our team is Zidane actually had a world class team. We have a few world class players but it’s not enough
One bright side is De Ligt. He has potential to be the best defender in the world he's been amazing at the back
Good video but some clear issues are not touched. Pressed is better but is still weak and ineffective compared to other top pressing teams and it ruins defensive structure so team is worse prepared to face attacks when press fails. Pirlo also tries to keep high line with juve but it doesnt fit multiple defenders (especially Bonucci) what causes even less defensive stability and makes the players look bad.
the Ronaldo statue at the beginning is a good touch 😂😂
Juventus won serie A for 7 consecutive years, but now after someone come everything changes.. if I speak I'm in trouble 🤐
Congrats to CR7 becoming top goal scorer of all time. G.O.A.T and a true inspiration for a lot of people, including me.
I don’t think he’s the goat but definitely the greatest player to play for Juve, he’s my inspiration too
We are settling inti rhythm.2021 thus far except the match vs inter.
Juventus dont have any problem... The only problem is inter, milan and ROMA become more stronger!!!!!... Thats the fact..
I'd say that Juve is less stronger than it was until 2018 while our rivals become more stronger
What are you talking about, this Juventus team is crap, without Ronaldo they would be a mid table team.

Tifo’s at it again
Nothing is wrong
Pirlo didnt have a preseason, so he cannot train his team tacticaly (and with 2 games per week, he cannot do it now either) I think we didnt fully realize that : without a preseason, in the modern era, that's impossible to work properly. Tuchel and Pochetino this year will work on mental, physical preparation maybe, and tactical but they cant organize great sessions with all the squad
Against Juve, Inter is very strong with a style worked since summer 2019, and Milan is in a incredible form since the last summer
And despite that Juve isnt far, so they can still win the title
But even if the dont, nothing better could be done now
So the video didn’t actually answer the question?? All it said was they’re doing everything right, but aren’t winning enough games.
The way you read the ppda stat was as if they're pressing far more but their ppda actually dropped. Any reason you didn't mention this?
Nice video again!
BTW, I wanted Tifo to do a ...
What’s going wrong at Arsenal?
Nevermind, it doesn't matter now.
We're with you men
Yes we needed this
Just give him sometime and have patience and then see how good he would be.
Have faith in him
I think 2 things: The lack of a preseason with a new manager and the fact that Serie A is deeper than it has been in a decade.
As a juve fan I agree but I can firmly confirm that we are improving
Pirlo just needs to be given time juves squad needs to be refreshed with the right players for his system to work
why in gods name does Pirlo have one peak lapel and one notch lapel in the thumbnail picture? inexcusable.
Is something going wrong,? I did not get the answer from video. Juve is rebuilding while other teams get significatly stronger.
They couldn't put up with their previous always-in-a-tracksuit manager so they hired a sharp dressed one, despite the fact he had no previous managing experience to guide them through a hell of a season to come. Juventus, ladies and gentlemen.
Why have you changed your fonts and style?
Lol to the Ronaldo statue reference 😂
This is a great video
