I can try to get all informasjon from my grandfather, but i now the 2 last years he had the boat it was a shrimpstråler between Bergen and Stavanger in the fjords to fish shrimp, And on wintertime he yous to going to Lofoten for cod seson it was rigged backwards for 2 type of rigging and a crane. The Scania engine is not a 600hp or maby original it was, but it was tuned down to around 400-450 hk in his ownership to save fuel. And the shelterdeck was not on the boat when i had it.
you might be right there .. if you remove the turbo from the engine it will be around 400-450. hp. i found some random engine part all owner the place when i got it. they might haw put the turbo back on after that.
You definitely have a diamond in the rough. It helps you’re a boat mechanic. I have had boats in the past, so I like to watch boat shows, and there’s lots of them to watch. Plus a interesting personality helps, like yours. Where are you located? I’m gonna keep an eye on you seeing how you progress. Good luck….Bill from a warm Florida
thanks a lot bill. well a bit of knowledge newer hurts when you haw projects like this to work on . i am located in southern sweden. i will be constructing the new bead room after new years so stay tuned :)
My brother, I have just seen you, and I enjoyed it to much!! It is wonderful your homeboat ando your boat life !! I send you a hook from Argentina !! I have suscribed to your channel, I´ll see you in next videos! I dream to rich a boat to my self one day...I´m going behind that...Blessing for you !!
Is it way cheaper to live on a fishing boat then to rent an apartment? I really want to live on a boat when i move out of my parents house but i'm a boat noob
This year I buy boat in Sweden. And I see boat like this. But this boat is big and heavy. I scare how big price I must pay if you must repare wood hull. And who take aut too backyard 50 tons boat. So I buy 41ft steel sailboat. Please make video how much cost this boat and how much you mast pay every month.
@@CountSaintGermain good price, good size. And port place? I pay 3300€ boat, 1100€ backyard for 1 year, 780€ boat stativ, 3100€ transfer 100km. And I must invest 15 000€. So it is 5 years project. But now I check job in Sweden.
Frames are rotten. Wouldn't take her out anywhere. Most marinas require surveys and insurance now, so I'd take that into consideration when buying a boat to live on.
Fibreglass on a hull like that is only done for one reason . That steel bracing in the fore peak is another red flag .As a houseboat she'll maybe do !!
@@CountSaintGermain glad you had a safe trip. Chances of a tragedy at sea are high in this case. There are many beams that you will not be able to inspect, and I'm sure there is others in bad shape. I inspected a converted trawler in similar condition. It was also fiberglassed over to avoid a major structural refit and leaks. At least pay the $500.00 to have a surveyor tell you where you stand. Worse case scenario is you have to keep it at the dock permenantly.
I am starting to feel old if I hear someone say there are a lot of CD's while showing records 🙂 Nice camera work, love the colour balance. (I live on a 11m steel sailboat in the Netherlands)
I use a Diesel heater (200 mL diesel per hour) and an electric heater. No problem to get it hot inside. The electric (oil)radiator is now on the minimum setting (500W) and it turns on every now and then. The diesel heater I use if temperatures get under zero C. The boat is well isolated (10 cm foam on the sides and top))
cool to see this boat agin. my grandfather was owner of this boat for some years.
that's awesome . is there anything you can tell me about it everything you know would be great.
