Yoh bro about 6 7 8 months ago I was a impatient dumb kid always in a rush and half fast with everything esp fixing my is300 and my time. I just want to apologize for any shit I said about your video and what not that was the dumb me moments your vids are awesome and really helpful now that I’m taking it slow and not being obnoxious; stupid , again sorry bro o btw I love that instrumental playing in the back! Shit sounds original .
No Worries, Thanks for the support Jimmy.
Helped me a lot. I didn’t removed stabilizer link bolt. But with one long bar& one short i Get it In place.
Nice, this look easy. I’m going to be doing the same to all four strut and springs too.
Is300 was the first car I did shocks on where the spring is toward the bottom of the shock and has the long cap, its an interesting setup I wonder why they did it that way.
Is it bad to reuse strut mounts?
Thanks for the video! Its a great help!
So im missing the screws for that bracket peice right ontop of the springs on the side Is that absolute necessary?
I learn something if I want to do this to my is300 too
How you remove the bolt from the sway bar link
Isn't the common way to leave the springs compressed when installing? So the giant crowbar wouldn't be needed?
I was thinking the same also when he took them out compressing the springs I think would have made the crowbar unnecessary. About to do this type of job so I will know soon 👍
@@debojr78 Oof, good luck. Did mine a few months ago - definitely will never do again lol. Got the hang of it after the 1st but it's still a PIA. You'll likely need a crowbar unless you unbolt the arm at the joint, but then you'll struggle lining up the bolts by yourself (had to get a second pair of hands to line it up while I hammered it in). Having a jack will help to line up the bolt holes, however.
@@sirjared21 🤣 I've said that several times not doing that again and bought another car and found myself doing it again thanks for the heads up I always plan for hiccups tho why I clear the entire day just in case I'm in there where ever when the moon is now your added light. Just bought a low projack and said to myself I'm going to need atleast two more trans. Jack and another floor jack but thanks bro 🤙many other projects ahead of me.
@@debojr78 No problemo. Btw, another tip: you'll need to keep the spring compressor on while you seat it so you can adjust it to line up with the top bolt openings (unless you can get lucky and twist it the right way outside the car). Only thing is, if you have a large compressor it will get stuck in there so you won't be able to compress/release. So try to find one that's not so bulky (I rented a bulky one at Oreilly's... so avoid that one lol).
What was that on the inside of the strut mount 9:45
How come you didn't just unbolt the inner bolt to drop the control arm just wondering 🤔 were you trying not to need an alignment and can the way u did it mess up the drive axel ?
Don't remember. But, yeah , not jacking up the alignment is good.
I tried doing this and one of the bolts at the top, the nut just spins freely and I have no clue how to fix it. Any tips!
Would it be the same for a 2005 Lexus gs300???
Awsome video
thanks for sharing my friend :)
Help me out with a view ua-cam.com/video/OkUDUsZ7psU/v-deo.html Thank you
Good video but you didn't close the safety pins on the spring compresser.
And he put his face right in front of the strut with the loaded springs.
How bad was removing the trunk liner to access the top of the strut? Any video of that?
It's just clips on. All you need is a plastic pry tool to pop em loose. It's just a lot of them which makes it annoying. Just like you have to take the trunk liner off just to change license plate bulbs, it's annoying
Good video
What tool model
Graet vid! I’m getting major swueaking from my rear passenger wheel while driving also major squeaks when I press down on back of car on that side. Shock? Or worn bushing somewhere? Whaddaya think? Thnks (no abnormal tire wear that I can see)
Probably a bushing

Sound like this?
@@Donnythelatemodeltech ya kinda like that!! Also I gonna do rear struts but I gonna change springs to hotchkis lower ones my friend gave me. Do I just decompress the old springs by themselves so I can use the compressors on the new ones what do I hold on to while decompressing? Thnks great vids! 👍🏻
Nice video, Can you also add a dust boot?
Yes you can!
What's the dimension of the shocks
Why didn't you clean / paint anything?
Are these the same struts for 2007 Lexus GS450H?
No, the GS450H has adjustable control struts that you control with the sport button. If you don’t care about this feature and you never use that sport button, then you can use the GS300 struts KYB 551108 for the rears. Just leave the control that go on top of the strut unplugged because there’s no place to plug them into on theses struts. You’ll won’t get any warning messages on your instrument panel and your sports button will still come on when you press it. It just won’t do anything.
Hello please I need the Lexus gs300 2006 absolver 2front and 2back I’m from Nigeria can you help me send them ??
Hu?
Could’ve just loosened the control arm off the spindle for easier access
Keeps everything straighter when u don’t touch it, if something been crashed or bent it makes it hard to get it back. I think it’s easier doing it the way he did it.
It would throw aliment off to
@@qfitz7265 All you have to do is just mark the adjustment bolts, the same thing a shop would do.
@@qfitz7265whenever you do these type of job youre supposed to get an alignment done anyway.
friend and i have a trick where he stands and jumps on the top control arm and i try to get the strut in
Is it the same process for the gs300?
Yes
Noice!
Feel a difference?
It did correct the vibration i had on the highway.
Are the front struts interchangeable with the rear? Anyone??
Nope
no torque gun? Also you should tighten the damper lower bolt at curb position, not at full rebound position. sorry to say but this is a poor installation.
Lol.
This one strut, bought to make this one video, coilovers a few days later.
Thanks for sharing

And you pry'ed against halfshaft to lower the spring link down, was the boot damaged at all?
@@nickpark9587 no
Where did you get the rubber cover for the impact wrench
