I'm so glad that we're getting footage of Bolan's band in their prime. Like The Who or The Stone's, one doesn't get a sense of magnificence until we see these bands playing live and happy.
Simply sensational then, in 1970/71/72/73. I literally fell in love with all of his music, including the early periods (Tyrannosaurus Rex and even earlier tracks). Cadillac is one of his best rock tracks. It would be impossible for me to collect my Top 20 of his songs, perhaps Top 30. Let’s say Top 40 is manageable. His impact in 1970 was incredible, sensational. Regardless what critics and haters had to say. I’m still in the Bolan mood and you know, 48 years are gone since then. And of course T.Rex/Bolan fans will never ever walk alone.
I actually watched these guys do this at both performances on that day. Saw him live at Manchester Apollo shortly before he died too. Ferkin excellent band they were! Sorely missed!
I grew listening to the Beatles in the sixties moved on to T. rex in the early seventies along with Rod Stewart, then Roxy music squeeze Ian Dury Queen Bryan Adams,Bruce Springsteen, saw them all live except the Beatles and Trex as I was to young that is why you tube is so great I can see how good Marc Bolan was live.
Alanna, this is from the BORN To BOOGIE dvd , he did 2 shows at Wembley morning and evening,Boogie showed more of the evening concert but dvd shows full morning concert also, try at Amazon ?
The Wembley footage was edited and some audio added afterwards. There is at least one extra guitar track on this, for example. Also at Wembley, you see Steve Currie and Mickey Finn "singing", but I think the backing vocals you hear were added later. Mickey Finn had a weak voice and Tony Visconti said that only Marc could sing, also that from around Metal Guru onwards, the only backing vocals were provided by him and Marc (until Gloria joined in).
As a guitarist, Bolan is as good as Jimi Hendrix. But his singing is better, and he is also better as a composer because he has written a lot more of his own No. 1 hits. Hendrix has mainly used cover vesions of existing songs. Then come Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Clapton and Angus in order.
@@eternityjackson3564 have the Drugs worn off yet? I’m a huge huge Bolan fan, but you know nothing about Guitarists with your comment, absolutely unbelievable!!!
It's from the "Born to Boogie" film dvd/blu ray they did 2 shows at Wembley in one day, both are on the dvd and other bits of footage in between, it was produced by Ringo Starr.

Such a cool "groove" in Cadillac! And theyre having so much fun! RIP, Mr Bolan
I am not sure if future generations will be as nostalgic for their music as we are.
started listening to T Rex again lately, never realized what a great guitarist he was, totally underrated
Plagued with constant problems, cables breaking, mic not working etc etc... and the still stayed calm and pulled it off.... truly amazing ❤️ x
I love the way Marc keeps the vibe going while Steve sets up his bass👍😊
And bill + Micky

He was just great!!
Never been anything close what a sound n performance.
Back when Marc had a really great band.
Wonderful. Miss them all, what an amazing time that was. So love the music and the boys all these years later ❤️🎶🎸
One of their best live performances. That’s why we all fell in love with TREX.

My favorite song **** fantastic performance : )
Nice long jam. Lives up to the name-T. Rex.
Lost so young 😞
johnny marr's favorite guitarist. say no more. xxx.
How do you know
So Great!
FOR EVER FAN !
Love the long intro.... Steve Currie cracking the shits because his lead is broken
The sound of OLD T REX 😊
Great when Steve comes in when his lead is sorted out 🐸😎🐸
This was epic and sick!
Mickey Finn, the Hendrix of bongos
here is something you will NEVER hear out of anyone's mouth EVER...ready? "I went to Berklee College of music for bongos." ok?

So Flo and Eddie didn't do any back ups after the Slider record ? Yeah,I guess thats right ..8~)
@@jamieholiday5156 Tony Visconti said it had something to do with Flo and Eddie wanting to be paid!
all that really matters is......sounds GREAT!
Thank you so much dear Milos. Enjoy your evening! maria:-)
Xxcking brill
p.s. Mickey Finn was his real name. The character of Mike in Bless This House looked like him. At the time, T Rex were the new Beatles.
Tiger of the Night ... no bloody way! Teen band! 2nd guitar hiding somewhere added later!

Another prime example of why the Rock N Roll hall of fane is a joke.
And you mean?
Are you saying T.Rex does or doesn't belong in the Hall?
