Marc Bolan was the undisputed king of "Glam" Rock; known as Glamour Rock. Had an AMAZING stage presence. This song is featured in the beginning of the movie The Truman Show. They just sped it up a bit. Although lyrically challenged, it is an absolute BANGER nonetheless. Marc was tragically killed in a car accident with his wife Grace Jones. She survived, but he didn't. There is controversy surrounding his death. There is a story out there that when the car was inspected, they discovered that the lug nuts on the wheels were loose; but only on the passenger side of the car; which is where he was seated. I guess we'll never know for sure. RIP Marc!!!!😀😀😀😀

Tragic passing of T Rex leader Marc Bolan . At the peak of their career in a car crash . In his time he defined what it was to be a rock star . From what I understand it was all he ever wanted to be.

I think his peak was about 72-74. After that he lost Tony Visconti as a producer and his albums weren't selling as well. What he did do was manage to get clean from drugs before he died though.

    Hello Elok.
The title JEEPSTER is also a very good song.
Marc Bolan liked cars although he never got a driver license.❤❤❤

Cuz my generation loved this music and we have many good memories, so it is my hope that you and your generation will rediscover and create your own experiences and memories and pass on these classic gems.

There is an even better performance of this song on youtube that's worth checking out, from Musik Laden in 1973

Ahh well said, Marc's music means so much to me, I also loved his style and attitude. Very missed, I was heartbroken when this guy passed away, I couldn't go to work that Friday on 16 September 77 it was like losing a family member.

Just catching up with your vids, Elok. Works been crazy. Yeah, regarding the boa and eye make up on Marc Bolan, as some have already pointed out, they were a big part of the glam rock movement out of the UK in the late 60's early 70's. I think you've covered some David Bowie already. He was a part of that movement. When you get a chance check out The Sweet - Ballroom Blitz. Another great band from that era/genre is Mott the Hoople (that name still cracks me up!). My favorite band from that era. As always, rock on, Elok!

Marc Bolan was T-Rex. Tommy Bolin was a guitarist from Iowa, USA. He played for Deep Purple and The James Gang back in the early 70's
Marc Bolan died in 1977and Tommy Bolin in 1976. Tommy Bolin died of multiple drug intoxication and alcohol. Barbiturates, Quaaludes. He was 25. Marc Bolin was about 30
Check out "Post Tostie" from Tommy Bolin. Happy Birthday Elok!!

I bought the vinyl 45 in 1973, oh so long ago. Cracking tune. Shout out to the four female backing singers, Barry St John, Vicki Brown and Sue & Sunny, they rarely get any credit.

Hey, a great and lesser-known band 🙂 One of the very first albums I owned was by T-Rex, and I listened to it about a thousand times lol. His records in the mid-1970s were quite popular, but he got his start in the late 1960s with some truly bizarre music, much of it quite unlistenable lol (e.g. Light all the Fires it's The King of the Crumbling Spires, etc.)
