A set of Drawers in your ladder base would benefit the ladies of Your House Hold. Make a great place to store your extra bars of soap, curling irons etc etc. If you make the base 4 inches you have space to have a 3 1/2 deep drawer or two drawers in the toe space. You can even do one large drawer setup with the newer push to open drawer slides. Things you may have added to provide ease of carcass install horizontal nailer by making your Z into a tee, Ez level system and or leveling feet. over all great job and keep the videos coming.

Hi Jwar. Thanks for the awesome feedback. I had actually considered making an upside down "drawer" in the base that could be pulled out and used by the kids as a step stool to reach the sink and then that could have been flipped around to make a drawer once they were older.
I got talked out of it for various reasons, but now I will I did it. I think I was just trying to keep things simple. I have another vanity in the downstairs bathroom. Maybe I'll do it the drawers on that one and make another video on how you can make this kind of alternative.
I'm almost done cutting down the lumber and finishing the plans for the carcass video which will be part two. Please check it out when it is released. I think it is great having feedback in the comments as it helps people think of ways they can modify what I did to make it right for them.

Interesting that you did not want wood shims but used interior untreated plywood for the base. I use exterior treated plywood for the cabinet bases thereby providing for a few instances of water exposure that is more than likely to occur over the years.

HI Michael. Nothing wrong with using outdoor plywood if you want. Regular plywood I find is pretty resistant to getting wet a few times in my experience because of the glue in the laminations. It may discolor, but you can't see the base. It also tends not to wick up water, and bloat, again because of the glue and other gunk holding it together. The shims on the other hand are made from some pretty cheap would and even with a little moisture they can break up or swell. Outdoor, plywood is a great solution, I just stayed away from in it this case as I don't like chemically treated products near the kids. I know it shouldn't be an issue and they are exposed to lots of other stuff, but I'm a crazy dad :). They do make a wet mess of the floor, so maybe the vanity should be afraid of them.
