@@PawPawsWorkShop .. My dilema is that I hired a carpenter to make me a bathroom vanity with a top surround, a linen cabinet, a make-up vanity and cupboards for a new laundry room. This started in February and we are rolling into July. He brought the frame for the vanity and the lined cabinet for the bathroom. Just the frame, no doors or drawers. He led us to believe over and over that he I'm finished and was going to deliver and for one reason or another he never came through until he brought just the frames at which time I asked him if he would send me pictures well I did so and called his bluff because he didn't have anything else done. Nice. This is the simplest and easiest way to build a base cabinet that I have seen. Keep in mind that positioning the interior carcass panels to match the face frame is really important. That said, I make the box without the kick cutout and make a separate kick out of solid wood. I don't want the plywood sitting on the floor. Also, I always use glue. On everything. Still, Thank you, Paw Paw. Simple and clear.
gggnumber1 if indoors, are you concerned about the chemicals that out gas from PT lumber? Maybe not an issue since you skin it with other wood. I like it cause it gives you more protection if ever a water leak though.
@@ko6128 - Yup. I'm certainly not an expert on the science of pressure treated, but I am concerned. I put 1x4, fully painted on all exposed pressure treated, hoping that's good enough. If you or anyone has any information on the use of pressure treated indoors, I would appreciate it. I wanna state one more time that Paw Paw's video is excellent, because it makes the project 'do-able.' I recently made the lower part of a basement staircase out of pressure treated because the basement is very damp and even gets ground water when it rains hard (high water table), even with the sump pump. I'm hoping the danger is not greater than the potential mold and rotting of regular wood. Here's something funny. Recently I inadvertently stuffed up the bathroom sink (no overflow hole) and flooded the bathroom. I installed the vanity on top of 2by pressure treated. So my cheap partial board bath vanity did not turn into soup.

Although there are many ways to build cabinets, I have found that this is one of the easiest ways that I have developed to build cabinets by myself. Thank you very much
First off, thank you very much for your service! Secondly, I think this is a great build and shows how easy it can be if you approach it properly. My only comment is that I noted while you were leaning on the bottom that it flexed considerable, I know the front strip of face frame at the bottom will reduce this some. For myself, I'd have to put another 3 1/2" support under there and nail through the bottom or pocket screw from underneath. Our current house was initially intended to be a rental, and the guy just put in the cheapest and most poorly built particle board cabinets he could find. (He even used cabinets with that cheap oak laminate, and just painted over it.) Well, now the shelves are all sagging. A little bit of bracing would have gone a long way to prevent this. As someone else mentioned, I'm a big fan of gluing as well as nailing. But again, that could just be personal preference. I'm getting ready to tear out the kitchen and build my own before we put it on the market in the Spring. $2,000 worth of wood is far better than taking a $15,000 hit because someone realizes they'll have to replace them all.
Thank you very much. I designed this cabinet differently from my usual construction for two reasons. First, I had a very unusual plumbing issue and two I wanted to design something for a absolute beginner that could have success. I normally use glue and nails. But this shows just how effective nails can be. This unusual cabinet design has caused a lot of discussion and that is very good. My goal is to help new woodworkers experience success early on in this wonderful hobby. I hope you do well in building your kitchen cabinets and save a bunch of money. That would be great. Thank you very much for your comments.
Thank you for this. It is much simpler (and stronger) to use those nailers for the bottoms of the cabinets instead of dados. It makes me wonder why anyone uses dados.
Thanks for your video! I want to build a simple set of cabinets for my garage. Thought about buying pre-made from Home Depot / Lowes, however the materials were really inferior (particle board) and are poorly constructed. I will add glue to all joints as I will paint the cabinets.
I personally love to build cabinets, but I have built a FREE online ordering + designing system where you can buy all your custom cabinets and all you would do is assemble at home or the shop. (Any wood species, profiles, textured melamine's, boxes and more)
Have you ever considered rabbit cutting the ends to joint with the deck? Would eliminate notching for all toe kicks. The sleepers would end up being the real support anyways.
Yes, I do that on many projects. This cabinet was designed specifically to be very simple and easy to build without special techniques. Thank you so much for your suggestion
You want to get the best table saw that you can afford. It also depends on whether or not this is just a hobby or is it going to be more. I like powermatic and sawstop. Those are more of the high end. The DeWalt and the Hercules from Harbor Freight are both good entry level saws.
Great Job! You know what you're doing, give simple and clear instruction, and you're not a jerk in love with his own voice.

My goal is to help new woodworkers experience success early on in this wonderful hobby.
I hope you do well in building your kitchen cabinets and save a bunch of money. That would be great. Thank you very much for your comments.
Great video one of the best, awesome work!
Wow, thanks!
So simple, so smooth, great finish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much
Paw Paw I love your videos! I wish I could show you the shop cabinets I built using your method. New subscriber here.
Awesome! Congratulations on building the shop cabinets.
Thank you for this. It is much simpler (and stronger) to use those nailers for the bottoms of the cabinets instead of dados. It makes me wonder why anyone uses dados.
My pleasure
Awesome thanks great video!!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for your video! I want to build a simple set of cabinets for my garage. Thought about buying pre-made from Home Depot / Lowes, however the materials were really inferior (particle board) and are poorly constructed. I will add glue to all joints as I will paint the cabinets.
Thank you, this is a very simple way to build cabinets very quickly. You are right, I would agree that the store bought cabinets are poor quality
Always. Glue. Your. Joints.
And good luck on your project.
Nice work sir 😊
Thank you very much.
Simple, straight forward build. New sub here!
Awesome, thank you very much.
Men ought to work with their hands. Nice project Sir and thanks for the video. God bless!
Thank you very much. I agree that you should work with you hands.
I personally love to build cabinets, but I have built a FREE online ordering + designing system where you can buy all your custom cabinets and all you would do is assemble at home or the shop. (Any wood species, profiles, textured melamine's, boxes and more)
Thank you for the information
Very simple and and good instruction for the viewer. I enjoyed watching.
Thank you very much

+1 for the Harbor Freight Tools!
They are great. You get one free, they break, throw away and get another one free
Apparently, George Lucas’ brother is a carpenter.
To bad he’s not my brother.
@@PawPawsWorkShop Yeah, you would have had access to a lot more additional funding or anything else you could possibly ever need haha.
That's George! He's just moonlighting. 😁

I was gonna buy ready until I saw how simple and good you make it.
That's awesome. Let me know how your build goes. Thank you very much
Very very nice 👌
Thanks a lot 😊
Have you ever considered rabbit cutting the ends to joint with the deck? Would eliminate notching for all toe kicks. The sleepers would end up being the real support anyways.
Yes, I do that on many projects. This cabinet was designed specifically to be very simple and easy to build without special techniques. Thank you so much for your suggestion
What clean factory work , i was so blown .. Subscribed!! Thank you for the Amazing video
Thanks for the sub! Thank you very much, I am glad that you liked the video.
You are better than The New Yankee Workshop!
Thank you very much. That is the best compliment that I have ever received. I appreciate it so much.
do you have a video on what tools you use for cabinet making or do you have recommendations on the best table saw to start out with?
You want to get the best table saw that you can afford. It also depends on whether or not this is just a hobby or is it going to be more. I like powermatic and sawstop. Those are more of the high end. The DeWalt and the Hercules from Harbor Freight are both good entry level saws.
