Here's how I got the job, and how you can use the same approach to get YOUR dream job!

Good content man. Put the work in and share it with others. Easy in theory, most don't have the nerve to do it.

Dammit man. All the stuff you're staying is on point. I'm in the UK. Where I was living (Coventry) nothing was happening. Moved to Leeds where I'd been to uni. Didn't pan out, moved back to Coventry, going back to college in Birmingham (few miles away) and now just working on random articles and doing videos for them. Hoping it'll work out haha
Also been doing a podcast with my friend (it was his idea) which honestly has helped me keep my depression at bay (somewhat)

such an awesome video man! I had a hug problem with entitlement when I got out of school. I felt like I did my time, got my degree, I deserve a job and that isnt life. It took me two and a half years of totally redeveloping my portfolio and working on my skills to land my first job. It took me applying to all sorts of job postings and cold calling / emailing agencies. And then the ball rolls with real world experience. This video is so on point, no giving up, its a numbers game. Keep asking, keep improving, and eventually someone will say yes! Keep the video's coming my dude!

I really appreciate you sharing your wealth of knowledge and insight. I think so many people are scared to just start and don't know where to begin and are afraid of the initial rejection. Hearing these kind of stories really help lay it out in a digestible way that really helps ingrain the vision of the process.

Edit: yo my b, this comment became an essay lol idk, I love this kinda sht and I just get motivated and I talk too much lol
I really enjoyed this video and found it inspiring. 20 years ago, I would've loved to have someone tell me these things, but hey, prison ain't no fairy tale haha but anyway, through time and hard work I've gotten to a point in my life where I'm doing great now.
I became immersed and eventually good when it came to sales and selling myself to get what I needed to get ahead, and it can be discouraging at times, but I pushed through it, and it helped me finally break out of the world if retail and the food service industry (I waited tables and bartended in my early 30s and in my mid to late 20s) I worked retail and I hated it and for years thought that I'd be stuck in these fields of work for life.
Courage and impulsiveness to a degree (the right kind of impulsivity) is how I finally managed to go to college (courage to try and accept failure in the name of reaching success, and impulsiveness as in one day I just said to myself "I'm gonna go register and go back to school" on a whim, and in an instant I did it while it was fresh in my mind and while I had the motivation (and the dissatisfaction I had with my life i.e. working dead end jobs) and I got in my truck and just did it.
Now I am on winter break and will start my final semester in mid January 2022 where I'll be doing my practicum, which is like an unpaid internship. Oh, my degree is in chemical dependency counseling; I am a recovering heroin addict and alcoholic, been clean for two years and 8 months, so it's a field and lifestyle that I'm passionate about and could talk about forever (almost to a fault lol) and so I'm this 🤏🏿 close to becoming an LCDC (Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor) and getting those letters behind my name-a lot of hard work, studying, TONS of public speaking and reading and writing, which thankfully I'm a good public speaker and I'm a strong worker when it comes to college papers, though I have lots of typos when typing on my phone like right now lol plus lots of psychology and neuroscience, criminal justice studies, and pharmacology. There were times where I just wanted to drop my classes and "take a break" indefinitely ha
but I pushed through it and the short term goal is to work in a mental health or in-patient treatment facility, and the long term goal is to open up a private practice and get into the realm of helping homeless people get off the streets and the substances and get their lives back and on track... Maybe study real estate and social work and start a halfway house program or even better, do what one of my former doctors is doing and buy out or lease a building and create my own foundation :)
Just as little as 5 years ago, if someone were to tell me they wanted to do all that, I'd laugh in their face, and if they told me that I would one day be on my way toward that direction, I'd laugh even harder and ask em where they got that fire ass dope from lol
Plus, I grew up in small town West Texas (I traveled all over the world and the US though in my early 20s) and 99% of the people I went to highschool with all have that defeatist, small town, sad boi Tumblr emo "I hate this town" mentality, who've never even been an hour and a half away (and some that's the most they've ever gone) and they all use social media too much, they all hate their jobs, they all say they're stuck and this town is a black hole, and many drink too much or are stoners and some use hard drugs regularly, and they all seem depressed, and I used to be one of them! And so "escape" is possible for anyone with the drive.
I like your videos from both channels bc you teach self improvement, business/business mentality, positivity, and prosperity (plus music lol)
I don't have to tell you to keep up the good work because know you will regardless, so instead I say,
Thank you for your good work, and also, I believe there is no heights one can reach to quit feeling inspired, and even when I have my complacent lulls, little things like this video restore the drive to continue and not just settle.
    Sha brah 🤙🏿🤙🏿

This is so true and can be applied to non creative careers as well,
I joined the army straight from school (not saying it to brag or to be thanked or any of that kind of bollocks I'm just giving some history to the story) anyway 8 years went by and it became evident what i thought i wanted to be when i was 16 wasnt the same thing i wanted to be in my mid twenties so i bit the bullet (metaphorically) and left to pursue what i thought would be my dream career in the fitness industry which as it turns out was a hell of alot more competetive than i imagined it woud be, the only jobs i could even get interviews for were for shit money and weren't for full time hours, anyway i took the first fitness job i could get and started gaining experience but still kept actively looking for better opportunities within the industry, literally any job that was better paying/had more hours/was closer to home i applied for and while i got alot of no's and no reply's i was able to secure a job slightly better than the one i had after a while and i repeated the process over and over as their were good opportunities coming around but i either couldn't get an interview or i wasnt experienced enough to get the nod, in my first 3 years in the industry i worked multiple part time jobs to make a full time wage
and during this time alot of the people i worked with were giving up to go do other things because they couldn't get the opportunity they felt they deserved (the burn out rate in the fitness industry is surprising) but i stuck at it and in my 4th year in the industry i was able to secure what has turned out to be my dream job working in the institute of sport at a university, its literally everything i thought working in my desired career path would be and as a result I've spent the last 5 years not feeling like I've worked a day, what I'm getting at is in my case i looked at my employment history as my portfolio so the better stuff i put in it the more likely i was to get the job i wanted
