Kings Canyon High Basin Route Virtual Tour

This tour was created using Andrew Skurka's guide for the Kings Canyon High Basin Route. It is a 124mi route that is mostly off trail in Kings Canyon in California. There is no specific "track" per se for the KCHBR, but a line has been added as a reference point to guide the viewer's eye along the "tour." This is the original route described in Skurka's guide, but it is still evolving and changing slightly as more hike it. As a timeframe reference of snowpack, this image was captured on GoogleEarth May 30, 2014.

+Don Milligan Haha, Andrew Skurka made this route connecting many of the popular remote spots that have been long traveled. He intentionally doesn't post a track or waypoints (to discourage inexperienced hikers that may go out unprepared for the terrain). I had to make this myself off the maps and description. I did show this to him before publishing it and he surprisingly liked it and even embedded it directly to his site where you can get the guide.
