Ron's voice is very angelic and beautiful. It sounds so wonderful coming thru when they are all singing together. I love the voice of each Temptation and thank Dr. Otis for keeping them as one.
It's so sad only Otis and Ron are alive in 2022 ,The others have all passed on including The Piano Player who was part of The Temps live Band ,Hope they all R I P .and hope Otis and Ron will be around for a long ,long time
Share a thought for the late great Victor Carstarphen died February 2015 seen and heard here on piano. He was kind enough to spend some time talking with me the day after a Temptations concert at the Royal Albert Hall. A multi talented man and a true gentleman. Rest in peace kind sir.
Victor Carstarphen co-wrote Wake Up Everybody by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes as well as Bad Luck by the same group. Victor also wrote co-wrote Easy by Teddy Pendergrass as well as Truly For You by the Temptations to name a few.
God.....this performance represents one of those moments where I completely fall in love with UA-cam.......again......for being the social media outlet where I consistently discover "Diamonds".......truly special performances from my favorite artists that I previously had NO IDEA existed. Melvin, Ali, Richard.....I got absolute chills watching this.....and being reminded of what we've lost.
damn...I cried when "Blue" died...I was in Cuba in the Marine Corps...thank you so much for the music that will be cherished from the Temps, 4 Tops, Supremes and other groups from STAX records, Chess, Motown and King...and some others.. God Bless you all
Thank You very much. My heart just swells up with this line up and their beautiful harmonies. God please take care of Ali Woodson. He was always my fav. Just as good as David - no he was better!!! Temps 4 ever. Farewell my Love My all time Temps fav..
I can remember going to the record store getting the latest, In those days you can sit in a booth to here the record. There was a dance that got started called the 'temptation walk'. My Girl when you here the beat and the guitar starts. Those were the days! My Girl bought the first record player for your car. Listening to the Temptation I start my cd and remember where I was. Temptation's will always be a great talent in their voices and style.
Teenagers these days have a bad reputation when it comes to music. Pretty much my first 7 years of my life I grew up listening to Motown. I'm 16 and I would give anything just to be alive back in the 60's when Smokey Robinson and the temptations and Motown in General was really popular. I love the temptations, they're by far my favorite Motown group ever!
Much Appreciation & Gratitude for this form of music - REMARKABLE ... such great harmonizing and performance - thanks for the amazing music you brought to the world! Peace & Blessings Symone
Please, you can't take nothing from Ron Tyson. The Temptations have an excellent tenor with him as well. Look, I was a great fan of Eddie and actually tried to sing like him back in the day. The thing is, that nothing remains the same and most people don't give credit where credit is due. The replacements are just as good in my opinion. They will never select just anybody that can hold a mic., but will select someone with great talent.
oohh Skyler Williams each of the original had they own demons and illness....david ruffen was on drugs badly....Eddie was a heavy smoker died of lung cancer....i believe paul was murdered (that ???), melvin got extremely sick due to the medicine for his atheritis...
Richard Street looked like a disgruntled employee with Ali singing "My Girl". Even though he sung lead on this song for years, he's background on this live performance was nice. I've never been a fan of the 2nd lead singing Ruffin's part.
Richard Street was not just a disgruntled employee he was a hard-working employee who deserved to continue to sing lead on My Girl and other songs. But maybe you just don't know the history of what really happened within that group. His lead vocals were thrown away like trash by Otis and there was no reason for it to happen.
"Richard Street reached his breaking point with the group when he landed in the hospital with 17 kidney stones. Unable to perform, Richard left a message with Manager Shelly Berger's office to inform the group of his condition. The message was not relayed to the group. Afterwards, leader Otis Williams called Richard angry that he did not show up for the performance. Even after Richard informed Williams of his condition, there was no apology or concern. The rest of the call was simply business, discussing their upcoming tour of Japan. At this point Richard felt it was best to move on. The family atmosphere within the group had deteriorated well past the point of being a workable situation." From Richard's website
No auto tune and fake beats, just natural beautiful talent! Amazing! 👌🏾❤️
Ron Tyson never really mentioned too much.Seamlessly fits in and the voice of an angel. Love him.
Ron's voice is very angelic and beautiful. It sounds so wonderful coming thru when they are all singing together. I love the voice of each Temptation and thank Dr. Otis for keeping them as one.

Brother was also a brilliant songwriter as well. He co-wrote songs like the O'Jays "Backstabbers", for one! R.I.P...
May he R.I.P. but he didn't write Backstabbers. That was McFadden and Whitehead and Leon Huff
Victor Carstarphen co-wrote Wake Up Everybody by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes as well as Bad Luck by the same group. Victor also wrote co-wrote Easy by Teddy Pendergrass as well as Truly For You by the Temptations to name a few.
Fabulous. OMG. Temptation today, Temptations tomorrow, Temptations forever.....

I wish this lineup was still with us. Amazing what happens when a piano is in the house. Every home should have one.

Fine handsome Richard Street.

This is perfection.
Also, this is showmanship at its Zenith.
These gentlemen were titans of modern music.
Just the greatest vocal group sublime harmonies ❤
Ron Tyson a good singer in his own right but only Eddie can truly do this song justice.
I dont understand how otis williams is the only real temp that still alive while the others are gone. But god bless him

Richard looks so pissed off here. No wonder he left a year later
+Dan “Luis” Hanson Ollie DID take over a lot of his leads!
earvinlewis1 I think it was to transition from Richard to Ollie. Richard often took some of Ollie's leads during Ollie's 1st tenure (1984 -1987)
Before he died, he wrote a book. In it, you'll find that there were some thing that were done that made him decide to leave...
From what I read, when Richard was in the hospital, he felt that Otis was insensitive towards him.
Eddie one of my favorites. But I like Ron Tyson falsetto just a lil better And Richard is also one of my favorite.
