I FREAKIN LOVE THIS KIND OF MUSIC! you know what i also like about this music? there is no swearing word to be heard in any of the tracks from this era!!
I only heard STREET TUFF until now. This is amazing. I remember watching the Street Tuff video on my small black and white television. I recorded Street Tuff onto a cassette tape from the television. It's all I had, that and the radio but the stations we get here, especially then, would never play something this good. It's a real shame about what happened to this person (Michael Menson). What a waste.
The funny thing is that this new generation thinks they're the first to do British Rap, they go far back as Wiley and so solid but this was a commercial Rap song of its day now, it charted and was a mainstream hit. Drill is the commercial Rap music of today, it has more mass appeal because people see it as 'Hardcore', authentic and real but it's fake, negative, murderous, and generic and will be resigned to the dustbin of history where it belongs in due course
Tune I used to bop to it when I worked in cotton mills in 1989 early 1990s a timeless track from the better days of music 🎶 and life as music 🎶 nowadays is wank and is boring 😴
why does this song sound better on youtube? on youtube the sound quality is maybe imperfect but the equalizing and compression of spotify doesnt make this song better.

These lads were visionaries, fusing rap, dance and Jamaican inflluences effortlessly. Both this and Street Tuff are so far ahead, even to this day.

I am born in the year 1996 but I like old school hip hop than the latest rap music. Old school hip hop is much more cool for me.

Fantastic feel good song, seemingly forgotten. Deserves far more plays than this.
Reminds me of a family trip to Stonehenge back when I was younger where I listened to this on my Walkman during the journey.
Trip to Devon as a kid. Sat in the back happy with my walkman 😁 Frankie Knuckles Whistle Song was the one I played most.

Somewhere in a box I have a cassette tape with multiple mixes of this and 'street tough'.......'The 21 Mixes.......' 80s were banging 😊
