I like the IT buildings but... there needs to be more of a variety to them as there are too many the same IMO.

Absolutely! Biffa needs to play a little with the grids and leave some spaces between the buildings. And some more office buildings from the workshop wouldn't hurt.

I agree. And they are all the same height, it makes them look like a giant wall.
Yeah, that's been one of the biggest problems with high density IT parks in this game - way too few natural assets and the ones that are there are abnormally tall and take up the entire lot so you're left with weird situations where one building's side windows are pressed directly up against the next building's side windows so that even a window cleaner couldn't go between them. Definitely one of those things that needs a lot of downloaded assets to solve.

@@bertjesklotepino Yeah sometimes I use the features like a high-rise ban and historical buildings to have more difference in my cities, but specialised buildings like IT cluster can't upgrade at all. In this case I have different buildings, bcs in my game 3×1 tile office (small building) can be expanded to 3×4 tiles and grow instead of big skyscraper that takes the entire 3×4 lot, for example. I think something wrong happened with this expansion in Biffa's game so he only has skyscrapers that take the entire space
that is probably my only bugbear on the game in that there arent enough different buildings to make it truly a citiscape.

Perhaps not for the IT bussiness, but for the rest there is a ton of buildings.
To solve the problem of the walking people on the tram road: Just add a little piece of a normal road with tram rails and ban the people there. Do this on all entries and exits.

I would also de-zone the tram track, and put park gates along the tram way connecting the walking paths in and out of the park. People would have to pay admission to get to stops within the park and to their destinations outside the park.
Edit: upgrade the tram tracks from the parking lot looped back on itself to one way, and they won't route across itself.
He could just elevate the tramtracks 1m for a bit - problem solved.
The “industry 4.0” policy would help with the highly educated jobs.

You can use the "LRT Tram Network" from the workshop. It has a tram track that doesn't allow pedestrians. I've used that in a few cities to keep the people away from the tracks :-)

Your use of public transportation and parks is amazing! I really like how everything works together so seamlessly. The IT cluster is okay, but it really shows the limit of the game for this district -- the buildings all look very much the same. (Hopefully Paradox will include an content expansion pack for it and the leisure areas...) Maybe some of the sameness can be broken up by mixing up the office zoning with high-density commercial?

I usually zone only some pieces of an office district as IT part.
So there is a better variety of buildings .. but IT buildings tends to be much taller.
Still not a perfect solution.

A tram isnt a metro, even in Cologne. We have only four real metrosystems in germany: Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Nuremburg. Some others are close to definition, but arent considered a real metro.

Biffa, I think you missed a pedestrain crossing at the roundabout building section. People can get off the tram, get to the road and then... they can't cross it! And all the building are on the other side of the road. That's why no one was taking on or off at the end of the tram road there.

I don't even understand why you need infinite cash unless you don't know how to actually manage your city and just crank everything up in the budget? I've never played with infinite money, never had to. The only time you're short on cash is maybe in the beginning. After a certain point it just doesn't matter anymore.

@@hgbcjbx You can still do that though? Just don't save over your city afterwards and you can keep doing it forever by reloading the same save.
I only use infinite money because I only have 2 city's and they have been my only 2 city's but for my third I might try it with it off. Already from my road changes between both of them my second one is a hell of a lot better.
Select the policy industry 4.0!! It turns your factories into automated business which very educated people work in

For my highly educated workers, I simply build industrial areas with industry 4.0 guidelines. Swoop, everybody just wants educated workers and output goes up, too;-)
For the turnaround points, you can use single line tracks (need a mod for that) to force the desired direction.
Edit: or double one way tracks
At 19:00 how about leading the tracks under earth and disconnect them from the road.
Sims will not have access to that way then.
Also your turning point at the monorail station could be led around instead of it crossing itself. You just need to place the stop at the monorail and then afterwards the one across the street.
Surely the IT cluster is crying out to be called the ‘High Tea Cluster’!

I think you would do well to mix in unzoned offices and high dencity comercial to your IT cluster. It just seems you have way too many repeated assets in your new district else.
I like this a lot! Here in my city in Germany we have trams sort of like this, especially the part in the park coming up to the roundabout reminded me of the stretch right in front of my city's town hall, though our tram doesn't run through the park, it runs alongside a double lane road with the park to the other side. The road to the right of the double tram line makes a sort of rectangular roundabout (double lane one-way road) and when you come to the town hall the park ends, the tram crosses the road and dips below ground with a stop underneath city hall (there's a shopping centre right next to city hall and technically it stops under there, but obviously the stop is called city hall).

You need more variation in the IT-District. Download some buildings from the workshop or leave some spaces between the buildings and vary their grid sizes.

DSW 400 Tram is to be accurate from "Dortmunder Stadtwerke", so it's a german Tram driving around only in Dortmund. They are not only Trams but also used as Metros because we mix it up a little bit. No wonder I was so familiar with this design. I see them everyday because I live in Dortmund

I'd call the new IT district, The Oolong.
At 13:35 you could definitely make the tram go over the highway to the other side and make it go in-between two of the roundabout buildings. I think that would look nice.
And I guess I would make two separate lines that meet at the train station if you build the tram like this.
And probably throw some of the Japanese buildings from the pack between the IT Cluster buildings.
PS: I love how small the IT buildings look compared to these huge towers. They are literally the tallest growable buildings in the vanilla game😂
Love the new area, but one thing you keep doing. When you want a roundabout for the trams, why not use a single line track instead of the 2way line track. It would solve the issue of the trams crossing over on the roundabout.
It's a shame that so many of the IT buildings look so samey. Maybe there are some additional alternative buildings you could download to make the area look a bit more natural in its architecture?

That being said, you could also make your city available for all and, as a challenge, let others edit your city so that when you complete this city, you can have everyone else submit the same city and see the differences.

It looks really nice, but I'd suggest 2 things:
Elevate the tram where it crosses roads in the park. this will prevent folks from walking in without paying.
Move the stops at the end (at the tram circle near the roundabout buildings) to the circle, then put a path/park entrance right on the circle and you'll have better connections to that "end" of the line.

make the park separated from the tram track sidewalk. also, it might be a mod to disable/enable zoning. i belive the zoning has something to do with sidewalks.

Loving the Teaville vids and having watching Biffa's channel for half a year now. I love the IT clusters but just a minor suggestion in aesthetic: they all seemed to be similar. Maybe add some high-density commercials to separate them or modes to it. I am sure that will beautify the skyline~
I think the pedestrian path in roundabout monorail moneymaker is too steep.
There's too many trees in the tram line, blocking view of those huge buildings.
Alsonit would be better to leave the tram roundabout free of trees , because your roundabout building is great.

There's a way to make the tram tracks unwalkable. I think it's turn the tracks into "bridges" and pedestrians can't use them. I know Fabliki did something like that on his channel to keep people from bypassing the park gates.
Same problem as the U.S.A. where 4 year degrees were touted so much they don't have enough jobs for them and the skill jobs needs people.

Camellia sinensis is scientific name of the tea plant, so for your IT district you could do a play on Silicon Valley, by calling it Sinensis Valley
Considering it's paid DLC, you'd think they'd include more than 3 buildings!
If it hasn't been done yet, maybe someone could come up with a mod that replaces some of those pedestrian ramps with stairs.

I myself use monorail instead of passenger trains to keep the rails clear. In one of my first cities I had more problems with trains than with cars / roads...
To stop pedestrians, use a junction with highway roads on both sides, and then use junction restrictions to ban the crosswalks.
Biffa, 4K resolution is causing too many problems for us, and possibly for you. It would be nice to switch to the old 1080p60 format, because it’s easier to watch the real 60 frames, instead of 15, especially according to statistics, most people watch even 720p.
Your city will grow, and my eyes can’t stand such a low frame rate.
At the end of the half-roundabout, make sure to put crosswalks so people can cross
You should add a helicopter depot to your new IT cluster section so the business execs can get to the airport quickly

Couple of name ideas:
IT District - Yorkshire Tea I-Tea Department
Green Park (Beech Hills) - SipaGreenTea Park
I had hoped that you'd break up some of those IT blocks with something else; perhaps high density commercial?
I'd also prefer if the tram roundabout was a little larger, and had a station at the end which would serve those sweet curved buildings. Finally, if you raised or lowered the tram, and stretched pathways across, perhaps the pedestrians would be more inclined to use them, rather than the tram tracks.
Still, looking fabulous. I love hearing you plan it out.
Could elevate the tram through the park to improve the view, bridge the roads and it block pedestrian access. Where your monorail comes in, it could cross the railway line outside the block and it couldn't need the loop back and it could be straight through rather than terminus, it would look even cooler, I think.

In my opinion its, train in the middle of your city, and connect all lines to city around towns, use metro as 2nd main transport, build 2 or 3 lines across your city, 3rd order,tram and trolleu bus around biggest districts and commercial areas, 4th order, use normal bus to connect districts, to main transports around city and bus stations. People love use bus a lot of. 5th order boats and monorail, is useful to have a monorail from airports to central park or city comercial areas. Specially on cities with rivers. Boats are cool to connect islands or rivers across cities.
6th cable car and Helicopter both cool to transport tourist from a point to b point on big parks.
Taxis are wild, pointless to know how they work.

Ok I followed way back Keralis with city skylines, after he quit I started following Biffa. Anyone know keralis if so you know that he recieved a fan made model house from his original. Now my sugestion to people that can make stuff we should make something special for biffa a statue or something with underneath Teaville Founded 2019 something like that !!! who is in ? Unfortunate I can't because I don't know jack about makeing stuff... or modding !!!
You're worried about people walking in to your park without paying, but didn't you overlook the fact that you built a tram line stopping both in and outside your park, taking people in to your park for free aswell?
- Don't forget the buses!
- IT Cluster people need helicopter access OF COURSE :P
- Don't the park need lavatories, etc. ?
- in the video at the second small tram roundabout you spot the monorail do something wonky in the distance?
- Put in a different monorail model? This blue one looks dorky

What is the monorail at 22:20 doing?
Is today the "Promise on public transport tricks but not deliver"-Day? SamBur did that, by claiming he knew how to turn mass transit profitable and all he said is: Lower maintenace costs via mods.
And now you did too, you didn't really showed how to build a sort of hub, you rather build another district.
Since you are so in to trams and monorails you should consider some custom roads. "Monorail Roads by Sir Bounce-a-lot" and "Bad Peanut's Complete Set of Networks" (which includes his "Set of Tram Networks") on the workshop! Then vanilla roads simply doesn't cut it for enthusiasts!

Problem:
I have just completed my first city, I got to 270k pop vanilla, started modding and now the game runs slow. It was the trains scenario and I kept going.
Solution:
I want a beautiful map to start a new, smaller city, that I can enjoy running more smoothly. Ideally it will be a large bay area with a flat plane to build on, some mountains at the back and a river coming down from them. Any suggestions?
I absolutely love your park and what you've done with your new highrise area. The one thing I will say is that views like the one at 22:42 show the one thing I don't like about the IT cluster, and that is the lack of height variation in the bigger buildings. Because they're repeating themselves so much, it just looks like one huge wall. So the only thing I would maybe change in the area is the zoning - either by changing the size of some of the zoned plots to allow some of the smaller IT buildings to get in there too, or by scattering some high density commercial buildings (or Green Cities residential buildings) in there too, to break up the continuous walls of IT buildings. :) Other than that, the area (and the city as a whole) is looking FIIIIIINE. :D
5:32 I am going to implement that in my city and it shall be called the Biffa Transport Park. BTP. A larger version might have a parking lot and access to tram, rail car and train if I can keep it from being too convoluted.

Note that "IT cluster" only requires 50% of the workers from the "normal" office buildings. So if you want more highly educated jobs, maybe NOT choose IT?
