glad you enjoyed the trip! I work very hard to bring things to the channel that are new, interesting and fun! Took me 5 days of work to bring this to ya!
I find it interesting that regenerative farming is being heralded as a new concept. When I came to my farm 40 years ago my grandfather taught me that everything you seeded needed a cover crop and to rotate crops every couple of years. This way after you combined there was some forage material in the bale and you did not have bare ground. That was the old school way now the new school way.
They were teaching us farming basics in grammar school in CA. cities back in the early 60s. Crop rotation, cover crops to put nitrogen back into the soil, water conservation, etc. etc .
Farmers learned this becuse of the dustbowl years the problem is farms went to comercial growers who use chemicals to grow crops insted of letting mother nature do her work. Greed has taken away everything we know about family farming methods So large coprations can profit farm and coops can cheat the farmers. Just take a look at chiken and egg producers as well as corn wheat barly and other feed and food crops. The only true shortages we have is comon sence.
Toro got it right! You can't throw shade at those products (unless they are controlled by garbage motherboard tech, or bad plastics), but initial impressions are good 💪✔ Stoney Ridge Farmer 💯✔
Josh, that door on the skid-steer was to not die for. I operated a Bobcat rental machine and I loved the heated cab, but the door scared me. There are too many situations where the lift arms are up, and the operator would be trapped. The only recourse would be to kick the glass out.
I think it's just fine and very interesting....and the average person can't kick out a skid steer glass door...there's not much room inside the machine...hence the little glass break hammer in most cabs....the door was pretty cool in my opinion
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Very similar to our Kubota skid steer, except the Kubota has a one-piece door. I wouldn't want to run any machine that has the "conventional-type" door. My Dad and brother busted their Cat skid steer door several times
i truly appreciate the tour of all the goodies than can be had! i would also hope that you can make more episodes of DIY tools most of us low income folks can use too, like back in the early days of SRF!
Having fun demonstrating machines with their reps is a blast. The funniest thing I heard was the big drones used for spreading fertilisers ridden by Indonesian farmers over their farms. Like their rep said , " It's all about the weight."
Told my husband to look up BioTill - I just purchased some rejuvenate for my older soil. Going to use it AFTER I use the Neem cake to get rid of the darn gnats!! Good soil = good food!! 🙏🏻💪🙏🏻
I have a difficult time jumping on board with all this battery stuff. Heck I’m still messing a lot of the 2 stroke engines…..the good old smell of burning gas and oil.
Nice vid Josh! Always enjoy your editing and the way you hit the highlights! Watching the rep getting tossed out is something that needs to happen at most exhibitors booths I'm sure lol. Great vid J! Ric
Ive got about 450 hrs on my Toro titan HD 2000 used commercially. It was one of those nameplates only used a year or two before they transitioned to zmaster for that particular mower. I beat the F out of it and its an absolute beast
Noticed how easy you were able to turn the pto shaft that was supposed to be the tractor output shaft .It's been my experience that most tractor output shafts don't turn this easy if at all. Sometimes with a lot of effort might be able to turn the pto shafts on the equipment.
The PTO shaft spins free about a half to 3/4 turn on my Kubota M6060 when the machine is shut off, which is the purpose, your supposed to shut the machine off when connecting pto shafts.
I have an idea for Toro, or one of the other companies: What is basically a hedge trimmer, but built like a weed eater, with a pivoting head for banks and such. It would be a little heavy, but my gosh could it be useful. What say others?
How many amps does that Toro 6 battery charger require? I'm thinking too much for a trucks alternator, gonna have to run a gasoline generator to keep up the greenie facade
Just FYI...South Korean TYM (Tong Yang Moolsan) and Branson recently merged 01/01/2023. TYM will service and provide parts for Branson. For that matter, TYM is moving toward becoming a major US player competing with JD, Mahindra, Kioti, and Kubota to name a few. It'll be interesting to see how the South Koreans slowly acquire a large piece of the U.S. agricultural mechanical market. Maybe a UA-cam video topic? TYM isn't shy to talk about their vision of the future and they aren't U.S. made. TYM says "We sell and service most major brands of tractors including Yanmar, Kubota, John Deere, TYM, Mahindra, Kioti, Case, New Holland, Massey Ferguson, Ford, Deutz, Case IH, Farmall, International Harvester, Branson Tractors, LS, Shibura, Claas Tractor, McCormick Tractors, Valtra, Solis, YTO, Montana, and Nortrac". Looks like Asian money infiltrating a weak U.S. market economy. I'll still "try" to buy American but it's getting more difficult by the day.
Products are switching now more and more. American companies are having their sub compact and compact models made over seas while more of the over seas companies are building in the US. TYM builds here in the US while JD is all over seas on their small tractor models. We need an American company producing American made tractors that are cost effective and reliable.

I would buy electric Toro yard tools vs all the gas powered especially remote off grid. No fuel, no engine work, always starts for anybody. I hope they set up you and Stan with complete tool demos. Smart MN, company.
Good luck with the custom top dressing formula of seeds. Commercial row crop farmers are out of business unless they change. Going to be some large acerage opening up as costs have trippled and prices won't hold. Go regenerative or go broke.
Damn Stoney you got some Guns going on there Looking Good ! Glad your staying healthy 👍 Saw you at the show but you were on the run so did try and bother ya Great Review! Loved the show 1st time there Will be going back next year for sure multiple days
thanks ....you should've come said hey buddy....I'm always happy to take the time to chat...never pass on the opportunity to say hey to me...I don't mind at all! 👍👍
the toro exhibit , that's a nice machine, they need to go back to the lazer z foot pedal, never had a problem with that pedal, the only people who do are the people who are dain bramaged and don't put their foot center on it properly who also drive with a beer in the hand instead of on one of the 2 control drive levers which is why there are so many smashed up mowers as these are the guys pinballing off trees, retaining walls, vehicles, boulders.... as evidenced by all the broken lights and smashed body panels and broken off plastic parts on the sides and tops of the engines like the air cleaner and throttle knobs. if your foot slips off that new pedal it is going to have an excellent chance of shattering your ankle joint and forever being known as hop along pete or peg leg farmer

the ideal access door is an automatic NO for the simple fact i see enough people not securing their attachments and then they raise them up high enough they fall off and smash the door, doors are already in short supply and expensive as heck, what's the cost to replace this 10 grand? it's bad enough the bucket or other attachment falls right into the operators cab at their feet and face from what i have witnessed several times when buckets are raised over the cab during the winter and spring time and the attachment mostly buckets falls off and about kills them. the swing door is also a safety mechanism that this swing door will enable more people to kill themselves with being able to get out when they absolutely shouldn't with the killing arms raised. kicking out the window if sinking into water or quick sand or mud is more preferable especially for any parent or employer and insurance companys perspective. this is as bad of an idea as giving every person at the bar a small thermonuclear bomb or a gun.

Great Saturday morning coffee sippin watch, Josh. The "wooo" actually motivated a little as a starter instead of an ender, lol.

He jokingly kicked someone out but title is a little misleading.
Kubota skid steer has the same sliding door in front... Basically the same thing as a excavator
Great information, especially the cover crop part for us on our small acreage.
i liked what you said about soil Josh, it was much better than the thumbnail "kicked him out of the Toro exhibit"
good job like that , Lucky Edmonds in Candler NC
I've been wanting to go to this for years, hopefully next year I can make it down. Great video, some really neat equipment at the show!
Great coverage Josh! You are an excellent teacher as well as farmer.
I'm 6'4" and have never had any issues hitting my head on the door above me in the takeuchi or kubota loaders, but that is a cool door design.
Hey Josh thank you for the video I enjoyed it and I look forward to that guy coming out to put the seats down on your farm woo
Neat show. They had a lot of nice equipment. Cool video 👍❤️
That skid steer door would be nice, I've been caught in a Cat twice, had to squish through the door to get out, after blowing track hoses.
MY BATTERY OPERATED EGO HAS A BACKPACK AND WIND RATED AT 640 MPH TORO'S BATTERY BACK PACK IS NICE THOUGH !!!
What a great video! Thanks. Wish I was at the show.

The fact he was replaced with Sarah made it much better! 😂

yeah same design on the svl and the ssv kubota skid steers

$500.00 dollar battery x 6 is $3000.00. Wonder how often they need to be replaced. What's the cost to charge all six every night?
Plenty of nice spring or fall days when you would like to have door open.
Commercial yard car trailer running a generator all day to keep the Toro battery's charged for continuous use.
or a landscape trailer like professionals use and mount a solar charging system to it?
