This is how I paint little artworks everywhere in town

- For about 2 1/2 years I've been spray painting artworks on these tiny electric boxes scattered across town. I decided I want to film more of these in a rather raw and unedited way. So if you enjoy watching these videos you're in luck, there is more to come!

I'm from Brazil and I begun working making murals profesionaly a couple years (don't have much on YT yet) and got my first car 6 months ago (a VW Gol, we have here) and "transformed" it for taking my tools everywhere and it's so satisfying see your setup! It's also inspiring finding your channel and seeing your work. This was the first video I watched and here we have some boxes like this but with telephone terminals and I was always thinking of painting them and you gave me the inspiration I needed. I would like to thank Smoe also for presenting you for me too 😅

I love all your homemade tools, like the pallet to hold the cups, the grid and all the little boxes for paint and varnish. Can you explain why you don't use the tiny pink stencil cap instead of a brush for the tiny details?

I wanted to have sharp edges for the statue and I feel like the tiny pink stencil cap gives me too much of a soft edge. But it's just a personal preference. This could have been done with the stencil cap as well.

Firstly because i am an aspiring professional artist and i see a big potential for this kind of work in my local area. I enjoyed the ASMR vibes and the artwork turned out great :) Will they come a time all the boxes are painted and done; or do they become dirty again and need to be re painted after a number of years? And is there too many for any one person to “paint them all”

I’ve been disillusioned with my art videos “why would someone watch me create art” but then I watch other artists as a way to relax and be inspired 😊
There is countless of them. I couldn't paint them all in a lifetime if I wanted to.
And I'm glad you like the videos. I've been trying to keep them more "real" and less edited. This is the kind of content I enjoy watching myself (not just art, but a variety of niches). So I figured others might enjoy that as well. So don't be discouraged. Make the videos you would want to watch yourself. Chances are there's a lot more people out there that will enjoy them equally.

The podcast I host red and yellow make ginger has beaten this 3 year channel in 3 months - who’d have thought it, me talking when I’m a visual artist, to other visual artists, content creators, writers etc would be the one doing well 😊😁
We can’t measure success by numbers though, I try to measure it by whether I’m in the moment and fully absorbed within the process. That’s success for me 😊

A lot of graffiti around but usually light poles, trash cans ect. The electric boxes don't get hit much but there is a couple every block.

@@NickMoody I can tell the government is much more relaxed on putting art on utility boxes and things where you are at. I live in Tulsa Oklahoma and if I did that to an electrical box here, it would immediately be buffed out by the city. We have graffiti and street art here, but it is much more clandestine. I draw comics and I paint some as well. You and Smoe are amazing painters!! I'll keep watching, man!!

Bro, it's the Kiepenkerl. The dude with the best job ever back then. These guys used to walk into town to deliver goods from the countryside (like eggs or milk) and brought back things like salt as well as news to the countryside.

Other than that I'm lucky that most people seem to be happy about me painting in their neighbourhood. I have a lot of conversations during the day with pedestrians and many of them express their gratitude. So cool!

I am so positively confused by your workprocess.
You're the first artist on youtube I've seen that actually does the prep work by the book.
As a carpainter I always cringe when artists just spray over nonsanded stuff like bycicles or plastic toys or something similar. (I mean P40 grit seems a bit rough, but whatever, I'm not familiar with that technical data sheet.)
Anyways I love your style, it's cool to see people make their enviroment more beautifull.
Had some good teachers in the past and learned to be very accurate with certain tasks. But it's true, the technical part is often overlooked by us artists, because all we care about is making the art.
I used to use P80 grit, but I felt the rougher the better for this kind of thick undercoating.

Thanks you! We call it the Kiepenkerl. A peddler from back in the day. Apparently there were many of them in the region, bringing goods from the country site into the city and vice versa.

Thanks man, great to hear! I usually take a day to paint these (plus some time for planning and coordinating upfront). As far as pricing goes, that's something you have to feel out for yourself really, based on where you live, your skill level, and demand. Don't charge based on time. You punish yourself for being fast and efficient. If anything you should be paid more for completing a job fast.
Make a long time video with the equipment you use, spray paint and anything else you think would be very useful for beginners.

@@ediesedgwick4462 I do that in almost all of my videos. Some locations only allow for POV videos ... and I must say I do like the POV only every now and then. But I'm sure there will be tripod only videos in the future, too. I appreciate your feedback ✌
