Julia, thank you so much for the thorough comment. It means a lot when people take the time to write that much! And I'm happy to see that this type of video resonates with you and so many others 🙏
6:50 or so you talked about reminding yourself that you don't have to adhere to the reference photo, that you're free to do whatever you want. I am so guilty of this! My brain will slowly lean toward my art needing to be an exact copy of my reference photo. That will severely stress me over the course of the project. I have to remind myself that the reference photo is just inspiration, and my art is to be relaxing. I very much enjoy that you talk to us; the audience. You're way further ahead in your art than I am in mine, you have many insightful things to say. Thank you.

As a carpainter, the filters in your mask to watch out for, are the thick ones.
Basically you have particle filters (the thin ones you swapped) and active coal filters (thick ones), in short marked as P2 & A2.
The A2 filters react with any moisture, and once saturated, stop filtering. Since air has a lot of moisture, keeping them in a small container makes them last longer. They also just continue to spread the moisture within, so after some time, they're just saturated, and it can be tough to breath.
