Gillian come to Byron Bay!! I've been living here for 10 years, and the beaches are sublime, the culture very relaxed, the police are quite tame here. I recommend buying a van and a tent. There are so many people living around Byron shire in vans, tents, caravans etc, due to the housing crisis. They pay around $100 per week rent to park/camp on people's land.
Byron is a unreal place but I dont know about living there. Yeah for sure if she doesn't plan to work and just try the youtube thing that could be a really nice lifestyle. But if she wants to continue with a career and work aswel as a really nice lifestyle than you can't beat Sydney especially if she has the money to live either eastern suburbs, northern beaches or around the shire. But if you ask me anywhere thats close to the city and the city beaches is the ideal spot.

@@GillianMulholland Sounds like a good place to start.. also consider if you are interested in exploring Japan: it's in good shape now and worth a closer look, as you are not a huge distance away. For this reason: you are already free: but only if you know that, and stand your ground. All the best!
Mexico is a lovely place (yes I know, I know). It’s still a lovely place despite all that. I’ve thought about relocating to Mexico myself. I can see how terrifyingly propagandized most people are now. It’s horrific how many people would happily climb into the battery pods powering the Matrix just to be safe.
I completely understand how you feel. I feel the same way. I’m disgusted by humanity in general but it’s nice to see some genuine nice people like you are left.
@@GillianMulholland Of course, overimmigration is not helping anyone in Australia anymore than it is here in the US-except most politicians, housing developers and most employers since it obviously keep wages stagnating far below the rate of inflation while boosting consumption. But how were you grades in school? Do you have good writing, research, computer and/or math skills? Handy with powers tools? Does your community, town or province have a department of labor? Like in many counties in most states in the US, the Dept. of Labor may have a regularly updated online job bank. You can either go there in person and/or at your local library and view the listings. If you're having trouble getting placed, call the Labor Dept and ask to make an appt with a job counselor. They may help you find a better job than you thought possible. It's all free help so nothing to lose. Good Luck and Think Positive!

I'm moving back to the bush in Nth East Victoria. There are a lot of amazing places to live in rural Victoria, where you get more of a sense of freedom than the cities, suburbs and towns. All the open space, and room to move and you can now work remotely from just about anywhere, now. Good luck, Gill! :)
It's hard to believe this once thriving world has changed the way it has. From movie like plot lines to dystopian measures and enforcement and most shockingly the number of people willing to enforce it all. 🧡 from East Tennessee.
Australian? YOur government is illegal under your constitution. Think about that for a while.... they have no legal authority to tax or command you to do anything. Under the Law, your local bread shop is more legitimate.

Go to Florida or Texas! I heard Norway has freedom also. Screw those devils with their wicked comments. Thx for the positive energy and for being a hero fighting for freedom.
The world has come to this! Turkey is much more free. You can move here and teach English online. There are some mandates here but still better than most countries.I had been living in US for years when Corona happened and after a year of staying home and worrying about toilet papers I decided to move back to my hometown ( Istanbul) . When I arrived here I also stayed at home for another 8 months until last July when most of the restrictions were lifted. Now it feels almost like back to normal here. There are still some mandates but we re free to go out anytime we like and go to restaurants, movies. People remove their masks inside the restaurants. I went to a resort last summer and there was no one wearing a mask. I am not going back to US anytime soon. Come to Turkey if not go to Florida or Texas they have less mandates for now.

Dude! Ok so I’ve just come back to Melbourne after a 5 month road trip in my van up and down the east coast. So I was fortunate enough to skip this years long lockdown. But geez man I gotta say, the discrimination I felt from being a Victorian honestly ended up really getting to me! My first stop was Canberra, who at this point had virtually no COVID at this point, before I came to stay with a friend, their housemate made me get a COVID test otherwise I couldn’t stay. I went to a burlesque company when I was there and the mc literally made a COVID joke about the people from vic in the crowd. And just the general vibe was very ‘oh right…..you’re from Victoria. I see. ‘ But the worst state honestly was Queensland. I got pulled up by the cops in Rockhampton for doing a u-turn in the wrong spot and the cop saw my vic number plates. He was like… ‘oh…you’re from Victoria huh…are you feeling ok?’ Responded with ‘no actually, I’ve got my period and I’m trying to get to a toilet to change my bloody tampon, that’s why I did a u turn in the wrong place’ Cop literally was speechless 😂 By the time I got up to Kuranda and met a couple at a lookout and the inevitable question of..where are you from? Came about and I said Melbourne they proceeded to physically pull themselves back from me and laughed. I looked at them and I was like.. ‘really? You’re really doing this right now? I haven’t been in Melbourne for 3 months and honestly at this point, this kind of attitude is actually starting to upset me. Do you know why? Because every time something like this happens, I’m feeling the segregation that’s been happening between states since the beginning of COVID strengthening. And it’s sad. ‘ They paused for a sec then looked at me and apologised and walked off. That’s just the start of it, it honestly made a pretty big impact on my travels. It just got a bit much after a while. Being somewhere I felt like I wasn’t wanted by a lot of people but at this point, I couldn’t have come home if I wanted to. In saying all this, I’m not trying to discourage travelling Australia. I just did 5 months in my Hiace and it was incredible! Check my Vanlife vlogs if you like! Anyway, this is definitely the longest UA-cam comment I think I’ve ever made haha! Keep being awesome girl!!
Screw the haters! Keep smiling. This video was really funny because you had such a great attitude and sense of humor about it. I, for one, look forward to watching the videos of your travels! Stay safe and enjoy the adventure.

I reckon make your way along the great ocean road to the princess margaret rose caves landing and I can come and smuggle you on my my Kayaks through the river border to a landing near Donovans, I've totally sussed it out, just last week ;-). Absolutely doable, only a couple of kms of silent glenelg river travel! (y).

I’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO BYRON BAY!
Yes Byron is where it’s at 😁
Byron is a unreal place but I dont know about living there.
@@GillianMulholland come then, obviously it's not what it used to be (everywhere has changed since Covid) but still has a lot of unconventional and free-thinking people, especially around Mullumbimby. If you decide to come here, let me know and I'll show you around. (i'm 40 yrs old woman)
@@GillianMulholland Sounds like a good place to start.. also consider if you are interested in exploring Japan: it's in good shape now and worth a closer look, as you are not a huge distance away.

For this reason: you are already free: but only if you know that, and stand your ground.

Thanks April!
Go to Mexico, why would you want to stay in Australia? People are idiots 🤦♀️ go travel and live your best life ❤
Australia is not looking good right now 😆
Mexico is a lovely place (yes I know, I know). It’s still a lovely place despite all that. I’ve thought about relocating to Mexico myself. I can see how terrifyingly propagandized most people are now. It’s horrific how many people would happily climb into the battery pods powering the Matrix just to be safe.
I don’t think the unjabbed can fly anywhere right now :(
I completely understand how you feel. I feel the same way. I’m disgusted by humanity in general but it’s nice to see some genuine nice people like you are left.
Thanks Ben!
Hahahah I can hear the freedom in your voice...love it...so empowered...nobody can bring you down...I'm proud of you chic..
Thanks Chris!!
@@GillianMulholland keep going mate....

Good luck!
Come to Queensland if you feel like it.
We need good coffee...and food. 😀

This is powerful in actually calling out all the hate/bullying/anger in people who probably deep inside feel intense fear and deny their emotions. This whole situation is like a mirror to us. :)
Yes I want to get out of the city too!
It's hard to believe this once thriving world has changed the way it has. From movie like plot lines to dystopian measures and enforcement and most shockingly the number of people willing to enforce it all.

Just keep it real. Screw those haters. Tell it like it is and just speak truth. Who cares what these devil think.

I think you make great videos and documenting your adventure looks like a great idea
Thanks!
You are AMAZING and HONEST don’t let them bully you and shut you down.
Yes i can understand this govt has made a mess of this country All countries are a mess right now and most of us are unemployed
Just a huge mess!
Australian? YOur government is illegal under your constitution.
Think about that for a while.... they have no legal authority to tax or command you to do anything. Under the Law, your local bread shop is more legitimate.
Come to Brisbane. I have a spare room! I just ended a contract as an independent contractor in my profession, so we can be two unemployed women together :-)
Haha woohoo! Funemployment
Your v welcome to come and stay with us in England. Can't promise its that much better here but it'll be fun x
I like fun!!
Good for you Darl. You made me smile. I appreciate your sense of humour and laughter. Come to New Zealand we could use some cheering up here. 😊
Maybe one day!
Great video, So glad I found your channel, what a talent you are, Gillian!
Subbed for the smiles. Definitely don't see enough people smiling these days
Greetings from Los Angeles and thank you for great videos.
Thanks for the support!!
Thank you for being you!!! Stay strong in these crazy times!!!!
I feel your paaaaain Gill! Trinidad is only NOW slowly but surely coming off of lockdown after almost 2 years. Great vid ✨
What?? No way! Are you back there now?
Your genuine and sincere smile and SOH is one of the main reasons I watch your videos. Love how you largely find the humor in all the negativity. Great video! ✌😁
Thanks Mark!
I would say "come to WA!!", (stuff that imbecile who said don't come here!) but we'll be going the same way as Melbourne very soon, I'd say. Thanks to Mark McClown. 😖
I have a friend in WA. Australia is beautiful so anywhere will be amazing 🤩

I love your uplifting spirit despite the hate you got the endure. :))
You're a gem.
Keep on keeping on, love your take on things
I am lost for words at the lack of compassion from people. Here is a fun fact !!!! Over 50,000 people have left Victoria already to live in other states. Im sure even Slippery eel has noticed the coffee tastes better for some reason. I wish you happiness and love XX from another Melburnian feeling the burn.
Where is this figure from? I can only see a large number (about 22k) moving regionally?
Everything you say Gillian is spot on. These are insane times indeed and Melbourne seems to be the craziest!!! Road trip to SA, Fleurieu Peninsula, no restrictions down here apart from a lot of retirees wearing their masks whilst alone in their cars!!!
Good job, Gillian, excellent 🥳👏🏼😂
I really want to go to Mexico myself! So, I say go to Mexico! My BFF is there now purchasing an apt. residing part time between San Diego and Baja California

Love you l hope you don’t leave me alone with people who just ‘don’t get it’ but leave you must! Loved your video of Melbourne it was a perfect portrayal of what has happened here & how this once amazing ‘most livable city in the world’ has deteriorated Melbourne has been horrific & is horrific especially now the ‘4 eyed dork’ is trying to push these draconian laws through. Definitely get out of here as soon as you can l think Byron is a good starting place! Please keep making videos it gives me great comfort to know there are people like you out there 💞
Byron is high on my list!!
I'm so sorry! You're beautiful, and those people are toxic trolls. You do YOU -- unapologetically, and forget them. Sending a hug from Canada! Best wishes and God bless!

This is really funny I loved the video about Melbourne. It’s good to document everything and I love thattt. Mind blowing thing is kids in 2050 will be writing essays about the “key ideas” in covid lol. It’s gonna become a essay prompt I swear. But yeah everything you said was true and I wanna travel too I don’t blame you lol. Not every Melbourne person is bad they just focus on fear in the news :)
You are not alone. I hope things turn around very soon!
Loved this video !! Great sense of humour! Love how you take all these losers comments and take the piss out em ! Good job Gill !! 💪🏼

I like you ... because you are such an open girl. Keep telling your story. Keep as positive as you can in this mess, and find your place where you can be the best you can be.
You seem like you have motivation coming from somewhere, ever thought about helping others? There are plenty living in trauma that can’t see the point in trying, I’m right on the edge of giving up and all I do is focus on being a parent. I’ve lost everything else. Flew our C-17 to Geelong for an Airshow over a decade ago. Loved Sidney and especially getting 2 Aussie dollars for only 1 U.S.A dollar. My entire stay was a giant 50% off sale. Everything was half price. I almost forgot, "Why did that Aussie waitress chick (Sheila) freakout when we gave her a huge TIP before leaving that pub?". Someone told me later that guys don't leave tips in Australia. Is that true, Gillian??
So sad 😞 best of luck to you. We will take you in PA USA we need people who can still think. God bless
You have an amazing attitude! It was a great laugh to hear all those comments omg :D Btw, there will be a protest in Helsinki on 4.12 regarding the current situation in Australia. All the best

Hi Gillian, you are great! Stop worrying about all that negativity. People have to express themselves somewhere. There are more people that like you than you can even imagine. Keep your beautiful smile!
Awwww thanks Maria you’ve made my day 🥺
I swear the public support and even enforcement of these authoritarian measures is what scares me the most. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
I take my hat off to you, it takes serious courage to upload or post anything these days... people are horrible and find any way possible to bring others down ..
Instead of trying to understand someone's situation or show any sign of compassion, care or empathy....
I'm from south Australia and enjoyed watching your video capturing what it's like in Melbourne during these times.....
Thanks Amy! You’re absolutely correct! Appreciate the support ☺️

Thanks for sharing what is happening in Melbourne, it's really sad to see.

I see. ‘
But the worst state honestly was Queensland. I got pulled up by the cops in Rockhampton for doing a u-turn in the wrong spot and the cop saw my vic number plates. He was like… ‘oh…you’re from Victoria huh…are you feeling ok?’ Responded with ‘no actually, I’ve got my period and I’m trying to get to a toilet to change my bloody tampon, that’s why I did a u turn in the wrong place’
Cop literally was speechless 😂
By the time I got up to Kuranda and met a couple at a lookout and the inevitable question of..where are you from?
Omg I can't believe this yet I can believe it at the same time. So bad!! People really live in a bubble.
You go girl!!
Thanks!!
Screw the haters! Keep smiling. This video was really funny because you had such a great attitude and sense of humor about it. I, for one, look forward to watching the videos of your travels! Stay safe and enjoy the adventure.

One of the best, most fundamental things for anybody to do is to take the piss out of themselves. Humbling, down to earth, humorous, innocent, child like, explorative.
