@@dockterp1 I do not believe that smokers, drinkers, and gluttons will have any part in God's kingdom--or anyone who is willfully destroying themselves which is the anti-thesis of life itself:
1Co 3:16 Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1Co 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth [I openly and joyfully acknowledge Your great wisdom], that You have hidden these things [these spiritual truths] from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants [to new believers, to those seeking God’s will and purpose]. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Son except the Father; and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son [deliberately] wills to reveal Him .

      @@thegoodhopegroupthegoodhop5637
I don't quite agree with what you've written--you're making Christianity sound like an exclusive club, the elite that God has chosen...
Not so, God does not arbitrarily choose some to be saved and some to be lost, which is a part of Calvinism in a false view of predetermination. God does not do what you say He does:
Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is thirsty come. And *whoever will, *let him take the water of life freely (AKJV).
Whosoever will it says above can accept the water of life.
2Pe_3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but *that all should come to repentance.*
God wants everyone to come to Him in repentance--to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. He does not choose only those He wants to reveal His truths to.
      Here is your statement again:
"The Kingdom of God is like a very special Club only meant for the chosen elite, the true children of God, those to whom God has chosen to reveal his truths."
This statement is far from the truth--how will you convince anyone to seek the Lord with these kinds of words? Or do you just want to keep salvation for yourself and your other "elite" friends?
Maybe if you stop using that amplified Bible with mans added words that could be wrong, you may be able to understand it better. I would use extreme caution with that translation.God Bless!

      @thegoodhopegroupthegoodhop5637 4 роки тому

@@stevebilliter Hi Steve, I hear your point.
How do you understand this verse where Jesus thanks and praises the Father that He has purposefully and intentionally hidden these truths from the socalled wise and learned?
If it was plain to see for everyone see and make up their own minds, why would GOD need to hide it away from some that even though they may search for the truth, they will never find it?
And furthermore, why would Jesus in this same text say, no one knows the Father except the Son, and no knows the Son except the Father AND those to whom the Father chooses to reveal Him?
So if the Father does not choose to reveal the Son to you, how are you going to know about Him?

    • @stevebilliter
      @stevebilliter 4 роки тому

      @@thegoodhopegroupthegoodhop5637 Thanks for your reply.
It’s largely a matter of translation from the original languages to English, and we also have the dilemma of how these people spoke about everything much differently than we do. We also really need the Holy Spirit to guide us in what He has given in the Word.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
We should pray and ask for the Holy Spirit’s guidance everytime we open the Bible.
Now as to your first question: God has not hidden anything from anyone-these people have chosen to go their own way without God’s counsel and guidance from His Word. It’s simply the way parts of the Bible are structured that are hard to understand at first. Here’s another example:
2Th 2:10 And with all delusion of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause *God shall send them strong delusion,* that they should believe a lie:
Would God send delusions? Of course not. These people have chosen to reject the saving truths in His word, and God being respectful simply steps back and allows Satan to continue to send his delusions to them.
You also asked, “If it was plain to see for everyone see and make up their own minds, why would GOD need to hide it away from some that even though they may search for the truth, they will never find it?”
Once again, God never hides anything from anyone-no one who searches for truth will go empty handed away and can’t find it. It simply does not happen.
Isa 55:6 Seek you the LORD while he may be found, call you on him while he is near:
Deu_4:29 But if from there you shall seek the LORD your God, you shall find him, if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Jer_29:13 And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.
Act_17:27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him, though he be not far from every one of us:
It says we must search for God with all of our heart and soul. If we do that, we will find Him.
You also asked: “So if the Father does not choose to reveal the Son to you, how are you going to know about Him?”
It does not mean exactly this, it’s the oriental mind 2000 years ago saying to the western mind today, something that’s at first quite hard to fathom. The above Scriptures make plain what anyone needs to do to find the Lord-just earnestly seek Him! No one needs to wait for the Father to choose who He will reveal Jesus to.

So funny that where I'm from, (western North Carolina), many people pull up to festivals in cars an trucks that looks like they wouldn't make it out of the parking lot and then pull a 5000 dollar Martin, Gibson, Guild, or Galager out of the back to play. Shows you're serious about music. Ironically I sold my Martin to buy a truck lol, now I play a seagull. Great video!

Awesome! I am Sooo glad that this music is coming back..it's about time already! Most of this new country that comes out of Nashville is crap! They've turned it into something so far from the roots. I've not listened to it for years...this right hear stirs one's soul!

You two gentlemen are blessed by God. Youins sing the truth about the human soul. I was in a bone crushing traffic accident in the year 2015 and have been physically unable to start up and use my mid old 1950's era Ford 8N tractor. But because of my faith and belief in our God almighty above I know at some time, be it here on earth physically or high above in heaven (where there is no measurement of time) spiritually, I will plant, plow, and harvest with it again!
