- Another FANTASTIC Penny Hunt! I picked up a bunch of rolls (and envelopes) of pennies from my bank and it was chock full of goodies! And, in an unlikely turn of events, I even found SILVER! Just the second time I've found silver in a roll of Canadian pennies - and the first time I've found Canadian silver in Pennies!!

I appreciate the way you collect and show the coins you find.
You’ve really encouraged my coin collecting recently and I’m beginning to take it a lot more seriously!
I’ve got a decent collection of coins but I’ve got the display books on order, ready to show them off!
That's great! Have fun! And definitely let us know how your collection is coming along!
As unbelievable as this seems, about 6 months ago, I was hunting a BANK SEALED box of US pennies and found a 1926 KGV Great Britain silver sixpence. Probably my most unexpected find.
Wow! Now that is a great find! Gotta love finding something completely unexpected!
Great hunt! Congrats on finding silver! A few years ago I found a gold $2.50 coin in a customer wrapped dime roll.
Now that would be an awesome find! I know two other collectors who have found gold in a roll - both foreign gold.
Wow, what a hunt! Lots of oldies and a silver to boot!
That silver was an awesome bonus on top of everything else!
I'll be hunting pennies this week, too. For lack of available boxes at my usual banks, unfortunately. Great oldies in your hunt, though! Thanks for sharing.
Good luck in your hunt - looking forward to seeing what goodies you find!
A great feeling to just search through One Cent coins. Great you had some finds that make a difference to the collection album. Nice silver find. So many one cent coins and varieties to keep track of. Besides Coins and Canada, is there a different location which you recommend for check list?
Numista is also a great online resource, but coinsandcanada will feature more varieties.
Very enjoyable watch. Amazing to find silver of a different denomination in there. Nice one😊
Thanks so much for watching - I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
It wasn't pennies, but I recently found 8 dimes in a nickel roll. Two silver! A 1962 & 1964.
That's fantastic! Waaaay better than being shorted!
Your're very lucky to still get pennies, and even more with a silver dime. Hoping you'll be able to clean it enough to at least see the date. I got a very good surprise when I popped at one of the banks I pick up coins. I asked for quarters, and the teller sold me 5 rolls, where 3 of them, all plastic wrappers with a 3M magic tape piece to hold the roll closed. I saw right away a very shiny yellowish silver edge, so I walked home thinking this might be a NIFC modern silver. It is in fact a 1965 80% Canadian silver quarter in stunning BU condition, and I found out 5 of these BU 1965s were hiding in the 3 rolls! It's my best score for quarters so far. The next morning, I went back to that bank trying to have more of these specific rolls with the 3M tape on them. I got more plastic rolls, but none had the tape put on the same way, so no more luck. I am thinking a full 1965 Mint roll might have been busted open and the coins scattered with modern coins, and rolled again. A few months before, at that same branch, I got a bunch of March and December 1999 nickel quarters, again BU stunners, scattered into quite a few rolls, and I got some from different visits during 1 or 2 months. It seems a customer dumped (part of) a collection a bit at a time scattered through a bunch of normal quarters, and he's not done yet! Great hope for the future, as I'll return more often. Surprisingly, that branch is the only place I have not found a single silver dime in 2+ years CRH now, but is the best for quarters...
Well, this is why we coin roll hunt. Great finds!
great finds again!
Awesome silver and old finds James!
Awesome video keep up the good work
THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO
Thanks, Emile!
Great finds, i had a box of pennies from the bank about a month ago and 3 of the rolls were short about 4 to 7 pennies each but they were all newfoundland one cent coins
Wow! I've never found a NFLD cent. I couldn't imagine finding rolls of them. Fantastic!
Yeah it's interesting what you find in those rules I guess want to let you know I picked up one of those cameras. The scope like you have it works great. I didn't realize you can take pictures with it. Good stuff. Good information. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Hey, that's great - I love it - it works very well for me. And it's great that it can take pics, too, with just a tap!
Awesome hunt!
Thanks for watching!
That was a target rich coin hunt! Very nice finds. I wonder if people are simply cleaning out their junk drawers and finding these old Pennies and simply handing them into the bank.
I think that's exactly what happens. I don't even want to think about all the ones that have gone back to the mint and been melted down...
Wow. Great video, goes to show youll never know what you will find when coin roll hunting, my hope is to find gold in a penny roll one day.... one day
Me, too! I dream of finding gold!
great hunt that 10 cents is a metal detector find
I think you're right - it spent some time underground for sure!
My td bank dosnt like when i wrap coins in paper, also dont like real wraps i have that say the denomination under a hole when you wrap them based on the size of the coin
A silver dime for 1¢ can't get much better than that
Thanks so much - definitely a great return on that investment!
I got a question im interested in what you think, i have a normal account at scotia, a free account at td, the cheapest $5 account at BMO and i have a profile at CIBC but not an actual account, but i can get and drop coin at cibc with the profile with 2 pieces of ID
I was getting coin at scotia/bmo/cibc and dropping them at TD
But i havnt coin roll hunted since last winter cause i was detecting, so all my deposited coins at TD are probably gone so i could probably switch my dump bank this winter if i wanted to one of the others
Im not sure if i have got any silver at cibc i forget, i have gotten silver dimes at BMO but got ARP nickels at BMO, i have gotten so much silver at scotia
Out of TD, Scotia,BMO and CIBC which one do you think i should use as my dump bank this winter, think i should continue at TD like i was, or should i maybe switch my dump bank to cibc or BMO and get coin from TD?
I'm not sure if I have an opinion, actually. Every community is different. I say, just pick one and dump there. But truly, I'd pick the one where they are the least friendly and the least likely to sell you coins!
Look at the 1859 9 over 8 and compare it to some 1899 large cents you may have. Found one in my collection that is very similar to the 1859 but have no scope, only off center photos. I'd like that to be attributed and published but ICCS needs at least 5 examples. The 2011 Charlton might have it listed although my mittens are sadly lacking on this book.
Interesting! I'll have a look and see if I find anything. It would be interesting to get a 'new' variety attributed.
Those older Canadian cents are coming out of the woodwork as people turn them into the banks.
I just need to keep going to the bank often to try and intercept as many as I can before they head to the smelter!
Let’s go
The 1940s georgies must be more common then the 50s, of course there is more years but still, i found a whole bunch of 1940s pennies in the dirt this year, almost none from the 50s or 60s loreate
Keep on digging them up. And dig up more silver while you're at it!!
on the silver i can maybe see a 57 there's definitely a a 7 at the end, and its probably not the commemorative, so i guess 57.
I've been able to spend a bit more time with it and I'm pretty sure it's a 1960. But then again, if the light hits it just right... well, silver is silver!
yup..can see the7 .I thought I could see the 6 also 67 I'm thinking 🤔
