    You don’t need to rebuild the engine if the chain snaps, it’s designed to brake the lifters only if that happens, no big deal and not expensive, not compared to a re built.
    The rattle from the chain is not caused from a worn chain, it’s the hydraulic tensioner that get stuck and makes the chain longer for a few seconds when starting from cold.
    It’s important to know so you’ll buy a chain kit that includes the tensioner, if you don’t change it the rattle won’t go away.
    Last but not least, you never check the oil level with the engine running, it will show completely wrong level.

    re: the strut mount, it seems to be the disc that catches, I read somewhere else that moisture accumulates in there, I reckon it ices up going into winter weather and that's when you need to watch it, turn carefully on a cold morning until things get warmed up, had problems at the start of last winter but then it resolved itself, was still ok for MOT and I had checked by 2 workshops who couldn't identify the problem. When this happens you might get a 'twang' noise as it interacts with the Spring. At some point that disc can get damaged and then it needs to be replaced ( I've had replaced once at around 150K km ). My top problems 1) Shock absorbs don't handle rough road surfaces at all, terrible on cobble stones and concrete motorways with bumps between the sections... keep they tyre pressure to spec ( not too hard ) and slow down.... I had the metal part that holds the shocks absorbers crack and it had to be replaced... but this happened after a workshop helpfully overfilled my front tyres at 3.0 instead of 2... 2) the injectors get clogged but that can be avoided by putting some additive in the Diesel and then having a blast down the motorway, then they clear again. I'd thought the chain was good for the life of the engine... I'd read 300K km, no problem for me at 215K km but I'm not driving it loaded or hard. 3) EGR warning light has been on since about 100K... badly advised by mechanic I guess, who just said ignore it... has kept going until now but I wish I'd just had it replaced. 4) The infotainment system, under the seat craps out at some point... it then starts to drain the battery very quickly, you'll know when this happens because the USB no longer works.. but the radio/CD re still ok, disconnect the box under the seat, just pull the plug out.. the battery will stop draining then, the only downside of this is that the mileage indicator will then flash forever because the box is missing... this could be fixed by getting the box removed from the coding but I've never bothered as that would mean going to a fiat dealer and paying something..it could be possible that the box could be fixed, I'm speculating it's a dead battery ( like a watch battery )

    Hello man can you please help me
    I have fiat punto evo 1.3 multijet euro5 and on cold start it have very bad idle shaking till is wormed, and also white smoke for about 4 5 seconds.. I have repaired injectors and no change..
    What can be timing chain or it have bad compression on some cylinder

    No midas el nivel de aceite con el motor en marcha.
    No muevas el volante con el automóvil detenido.
    El seguro del capot lo malograton por no saber usarlo.
    Consejo, es mejor el motor bencinero FIRE EVO 1.4 8V, mecánica sencilla y muy confiable.
    Lo que ahorras en petróleo lo gastas en mantenimiento.
    No economizas nada, a no ser que andes más de 5.000 kilómetros al mes y retornes ganancias con ese uso.

    El nivel de aceite se mide con motor detenido.
    No gires volante con automóvil detenido.
    El seguro de capot lo malograron poral uso.
    Motor petrolero no ahorra, ya que se gasta más en mantenimiento.
    Consejo, comprar con motor FIRE EVO 1.4 8V, fácil mecanica y muy confiable.

    The Peugeot and fiat do not share the same engine, well at least before this face list anyway, the fiat uses it's tried and tested jtd unit.
    They do share the same shell and cabin accessories suspension ect.
    Both good engines as long as serviced well just like most cars, never follow the reccomed service intervals as they are ridiculous, same as BMW longline changes every 20k it's bonkers.

      @kentjones5107 Bro look it better. Fiat Fiorino citroen Nemo and Peugeot Bipper is the same car with the same engines. Exactly the same and the base model is Fiorino
