Thermostat or Thermometer?

I liken the two methods of evangelism as being a thermometer or a thermostat for Jesus. Let me explain. A Thermometer sees what the temperature is and just declares it, but does not change anything. A Thermostat on the other hand senses what the temperature is and then changes it to the desired result, which is for the better.
