I'm not generalising here - regrettably I think you're absolutely right about a lot of vets (I'm thinking the one's operated by big chains, not small independents) are highly likely to try to upsell you at any opportunity. It's the same with insurance or anything else really... that's why it's important to do thoughtful and as thorough research as you can. I love dogs and grew up with them, don't have one now but would still love to have one as they are great company and a good excuse to get outside! They are a big commitment (as is anything with doing) so good on you both for being responsible and taking the role seriously... and that means you will have earned her companionship.👍
