One of the best punch- lines ever. When i first saw this on TV, no way in a million years would i have expected the end punch-line, it came completely out of the blue! A classic!
It's a shame Corrine wasn't in more episodes, the actress who played her died a couple of years later. I'm glad Denzil appeared more, him and Trigger were my two faves as well as Del, Rod, Grandad and Albert of course.
alex ojideagu I don't know, I didn't know her personally, but she must have been going through a lot, so I have sympathy, life can be very, very tough for some people I'm sorry to say.
What spoilt it for me was the fact that considering they had been there all day, they hadn't really got any work done... and Corrine never even noticed.
Yes,Leonard Pearce was a good actor but I think it excellent until the end of series 5,then the episodes become longer and they brought in Raquel and Cassandra 1:42 1:42 😅 1:42 1:42 it then turned into a Soapcom (that is a sitcom that relies on soap style storylines. )
Sullivan was perfect in these kind of twists, playing with expectations of the viewers. You always know something's gonna go awry, but you never expect it will happen the way it later happens (chandelier scene, Dell's famous fall in the bar, when they were double-crossed into buying the statuette for the two Indians) . 1) Chandelier will fall down, yes, but not that one; 2) Close shot on the two girls, and you expect Del and Trigger will somehow embarrass themselves, but not that way (Sir David explained it here - @ at 0.20). 3) You know they will not get the money and Del almost breaks the statuette, but then comes a surprise Also the scene with the butterfly and many others. It's what writers often call "reverse of expectation" and great Sullivan perfected it

ppviking1 It's actually an old joke. Heard it in a pub years before this great comedy. But still funny
'Grandad, go down the vet and see if you can get his Dental Records.
Sit Down Sit Down!'
😂😂😂
“I’ve just popped out to get something to eat!”
[camera shows a shot of the “L. Lombardi Pets” door]😂😂😂
I love it when Granddad buys the canary in the pet shop, "I've never sold an emergency canary before"
He is my own flesh and blood! I’ll give you 45 pound OK DONE
Lennard Pearce was a fine actor.
ERL nnnnnnnnnnnnnnn n

Del Boy: "If that thing has laid an egg, I'm gonna kill you".

“Grandad. Go down the vets and see if you can get his dental records. Sit down! Sit down!”
Love Del’s sarcasm.

Damien Le Maistre Seriously? How?
*****
suicide of a drugs overdose (Eva Mottley played Corrine)
+Damien Le Maistre What a waste, why the hell would she kill herself
alex ojideagu I don't know, I didn't know her personally, but she must have been going through a lot, so I have sympathy, life can be very, very tough for some people I'm sorry to say.
+Damien Le Maistre Poor woman, I feel awfully terrible now.
What spoilt it for me was the fact that considering they had been there all day, they hadn't really got any work done... and Corrine never even noticed.
These were the best episodes, it was never the same without Leonard Pearce.

Only fools will forever be my favourite TV series! Watched each episode like 200 times lol 😅

The actress that played Corrine died 2 years (1985) after this episode was broadcast (1982).
Can you imagine grandad actually going to the vets and asking for the dental records
Yes
That is in in My top 5 OFAH moments. Brilliant. Shame she passed away in real life. Would have been good to see her in more Episodes.
Well it's good she did as you can clearly see she's got an awful attitude and terrible temper

'Go and get its dental records'
Grandad gets up
'sit down sit down!'
Wonderful comedy.
Eva Mottley-Corrine was mean to appear in more episodes by died of suicide drug overdose aged 31 she also had a two year relationship with david bowie
ricky stephens so sad 😢
blimey.....
Bowie was lucky not to have died as well in the 1970s with the amount of cocaine he was doing.
Ah just after running out of superlatives for this genius of a comedy.
Brilliant

Nice canary
Coreen Died in 1985
The best
How did I know this was a good episode? a little bird told me
Price of a canary would probably be about £50 nowadays
I wish I was living again in the 80s it seemed less stress and government control
Class
Epic
t'riffic punchline!
@flexlopez01 Were you refering to the phrase 'Quid'?
Slang for £
eva mottley... barbadian beauty..rip
nowadays it will cost 50 quid or more..
God she was fit!!!
Don't make em like that no more that's as good as it gets
Could someone please upload the scene when Grandad goes to the pet shop. Thanks
make sure it doesn't have any distinguishing features. What like freckles or a birthmark.
The actress playing Corrinne died a few years back. in Florida.
1985
@flexlopez01 Snogging is just a slang term for 'Making Out'. Any more I can help you with? I know plenty of these.
Bit of trivia - the wife here killed herself a couple of years later
+Phil Guest I didn't know that, that's very sad!
+satchfan2010 that's why you never see her again john sullivan didn't want to recast this why denzel only mentions her in other episodes
She dated David Bowie briefly as well. Way too young to die. Very sad.
stunning actually!
Aww didn't know that :( God bless her.
@flexlopez01 Sure thing. Let me know if ya need any help ;D

Is this an official BBC channel, if so then why are there adverts on here.
BBC Worldwide is the commercial arm of the BBC, not funded by the licence fee. It is there to sell BBC shows to broadcasters around the world, where profits made go back to the BBC
I'm not that familiar with the show, but it seems to me that they screw up so many times that they think it's always their fault 🤣
👍
Excellent clip but they didn't even get the old wallpaper off...................useless!
its so cruel to keep a bird in a cage! and a small one at tht
My uncle had two and would leave the cage door open and the window so they could fly around outside, they always came back.
Shows just how cruel Corrine is to her Canary in the Who's A Pretty Boy Episode
Frankie Boyle
Hey?
To see this bit greatly embellished, type this into UA-cam: WILLIAM SHATNER - FUNNIEST STORY ever TOLD
Lol, i remember this epesode! First Comment.
@Bossness123 :P
oops Whoda Thunk it
Why is corrine so rude for?
Because Del ruined her wedding reception, always conning Denzil out of money and getting him drunk.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
@@No1.OriginalTrilogyStarWarsFan Del explains that it wasn't even his fault that it happened
@@stephensnell5707 True, but how much of it was true.
Shortly after this, Grandad dies of a Heart Attack and Corrine commits suicide. In real life.
