“豆类” normally means beans (soy, green been etc). for nuts (ie. in nut allergy), it's usually referred to as 坚果类

雪莲非常可爱，妈妈也是。
这是自己选择食物由厨师加工的香锅，这种方式做麻辣烫会比较好吃，另外中国人一般不会在香锅里放面条。真正香锅是视频里0:35图片那种，也就是餐馆搭配好材料做出不同口味的香锅(牛蛙，牛肉，鸡翅，虾，鱼等等)，配上白米饭简直就是人间美味！

Jillian is so genius. You can even teach Jonah to speak Mandarin and to hold chopsticks so correctly. But, Jonah might not have eaten enough because he and your mum shared only a small portion while you had a big portion on your own.

In Chinese culture, just picking up the food from a shared plate/plate of food and putting it straight in your mouth is considered rude. (That’s what my mom told me when I was little) So by picking up the food and placing it in your bowl of rice (which everyone usually has one) and then eating it from your bowl is considered good table manners. My mom used to scold me for having bad table manners 😂
Oh and eating rice with chopsticks. Literally everyone shoves the rice using chopsticks into their mouth from the bowl 😂

Somehow Uganda is pronounced Ooganda in Chinese and I thought it's in English that way as well, until, "Yo-ganda!"

Hi雪莲, actually the first sentence we say when we see our friends is usually “Hi” or “嗨” instead of 怎么样 (esp among young ppl). We do say “你最近怎么样啊？” to start a conversation. Anyways, amazing video!

Hey JJ! It seems Uganda and the Philippines have something in common with how they eat rice. In the Philippines, they eat rice by hand, too. Technically, they eat everything by hand (especially most provinces, as I can imagine there are those families that are more well off tend to use utensils). In the main dialect of the Philippines, "Tagalog" (tah-GAH-loge) it is called "kamayan", which is simply "to eat with hands". My translation is probably more literal, seeing as I was born in the U.S. and I am not fluent in Tagalog. Anyways, thanks for posting as always!
