      Hi Karl! Good idea. The best part is I no longer worry about dropping it and having to pick it up. Very nice!

    Thanks for the behind the scenes look. I think every Ural owner should share what they carry. You never know what might learn from someone else. I also carry a scissor jack. Since some of my rides require doing maintenance along the way.

      Excellent! I’m too old to get it on the center stand, plus it works for all kinds of stuff!

    Another good video Allan. One thing I carry is a small piece of 2x4. If the drive tire goes flat there is no way to get the bike on the center stand unless you have help. I too carry a scissor jack but the 2x4 is light and small.

      Yeah… I should add that with a ramp cut on one end.

    Very good stuff. Small details can save your day. Bug out bag?? LOL

    You do have a good collection of stuff. You need a big hammer although the axe butt end will suffice. Over the years I’ve got so much stuff in my trunk that I added an ammo box (shorter than the frame) under my trunk just for the tool kit and some other stuff. Also I’m sure because I have so much stuff in my trunk that within it’s depths is a portal to another dimension… ;-)

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah… I have considered adding a small hammer, but like you say, the butt of the hatchet should work. I swear I have seen pics or video of a Ural with an ammo can mounted under the sidecar. ?? Love the extra dimension you are carrying around. I guess if you ever get stuck, you could try it out and see where it goes! 😬

    I'm also a former HD rider and have recently bought a 2021 Gear Up. You have a good collection of possibles in the rig and I'll add many of your ideas to my equipment list. Especially the scissor jack! Well done, Sir and thanks!

      Hey there fellow rider! 😁 Excellent choice for a new bike! I loved my harleys, but old age and questionable balance led me to a Ural, and I couldn’t be happier! I hope you are enjoying yours and much as I am!

      @@Uraljunkie Well, I had a total left-knee replacement in February so, my stability is still on the mend. Just picked it up from the dealer in Nashville on the 12th and am absolutely loving it! Performed the 310 mile service on it today.

    Excellent video. It gives the new owner ideas of what to carry. Do you have a link or description of that gas can ? Great size for the Ural. Thanks.

      @Uraljunkie  2 роки тому

      I sure do. I always get my gas cans from Atlantic British… I am also known as Roverjunkie. I carry four of these on a roof rack on a Land Rover.

    Good stuff.
    Do you think the clutch cable and donut are really essential spares to carry ?
    I used to vary a clutch cable on my other bikes , but I’ve always kept and eye on such things , no failures of that type yet, just a bad electrical connection on the CDI pick up once and a cracked manifold another time on my KTM.
    I’ve just started using a bit of silicon spray oil on my donut to prolong its life.

      Thanks. Well, to be honest, I will probably never use them. However, living in desolate areas and traveling where there is nothing around for several hundred miles, I try to be prepared. At least feeling like I am prepared makes me worry less about anything happening. I guess it is more psychological than anything. Plus, there is no Ural dealer anywhere near, so I have to order parts… might as well get them now and have them on hand if needed. Make sense?
