When I was a child in the 80s I watched action movies filmed in Hong Kong. I was even obsessed with the ancient walled city of Kowloon, I know that many Hong Kongers still miss it. Since then, I wanna go. I'm not naive and I know that today's Hong Kong has nothing to do with the one I saw in those old movies, but It's a dream that I have pending and I hope to fulfill it someday. I just love that place.
Time index 3:40 shows the area in Aug 1994 as land reclamation was being done to expand the 1988 convention center northward for a Phase Two facility that opened in 1997.
The original site of the Hilton Hotel has been demolished, and the first phase of the Cheung Kong Group Building will be constructed. And the second phase of Cheung Kong Group Building will be built on the former site of Hutchison Group Building.
Looks like it's "Robinson Place" at 10:00. Pretty sure really doesn't change too much on the island side. Comparing with other mega cities in China, Hong Kong needs to pick up her pace.
