The WHO approval of Sinovac Biotech’s coronavirus vaccine for emergency use on June 1, 2021, will help ease the global vaccine shortage. Sinovac Biotech has already distributed more than 600 million doses of its CoronaVac vaccine to nearly 40 countries, as of May 31, 2021. It uses an inactivated virus to trigger a protective immune response, unlike vaccines from companies like BioNTech, which feature newer mRNA technology. The Post takes a look inside their Beijing plant.

@@smartbirdNY But the Pfizer efficacy rate was confirmed by the real data colected in Israel which accepted to give the data from its population. Great , i prefer the less side effect and old ways.
I chose the old fashioned way of weakened virus rather than new method of mRNA vaccine which the long run effects are still unknown.
mRNA is still a new technology and I doubt it will stand up in the long run and regular doses have to be administered. That what big pharma wants anyway. Make more money continuously until we die. The old proven method are more reliable in the long term. The problem is why is China starting on their own mRNA vaccine? Unless they have introduced a more advance vaccine using mRNA tech.
One can not rule out the possibility that the mRNA vaccine could be far more superior to the traditional ones i.e. live attenuated, inactivated, and even subunit vaccines. And the possibility that the mRNA platform technology may revolutionize not only the vaccine industry but also the pharmaceutical industry as a whole. Therefore, it could be a huge mistake of doing nothing about it.
@@kofeesala23I'm not anti vaccine person and my statement wasn't for ruling out one over another. It was only my preference. Like everyone said, mRNA technique is newly implemented. My health is my responsibility, it's not something for trial and error in final phase. I definitely will choose mRNA vaccines over another once it has sufficient evidence of its superiority in real world not under laboratory conditions. And it takes time to acknowledge the effects.
@@ronniechew6566 i think china's approach is to understand all perspectives which is beneficial to its overall healthcare strategy. it might not be useful for respiratory covid virus, but who's to say its not going to be revolutionary for other type of viruses like aids and such. also, technology can only advance if you spend money on doing research, 10, 20 years down the road, with so much more long term data from mrna covid vaccinations, maybe mrna technology can be made very cheap, safe and effective for viruses with low mutation rates? or even in animal husbandry?
