this is the future of laptops! just imagine the improvements in the years to come.
Asus knocking this out of the stadium. Beautiful tech and surprising price point.
I got a zenbook Pro a little over 3 years ago now, and it still turns heads whenever I turn it on. and it still running everything I need for work and play with no fuss. deffinatlly the best laptop I have ever had.
but two full screens, now I can instantly see the huge benefits this setup would give me. I was sold as soon as you opened the laptop!
I want one. Just to geek impress at the coffee shop, train, plane etc. I wanna see those "WTF" corner of eye glances. But it's also just so good having the ability to vertical position it. It's something that can (finally) give you an office space feel away from home (i.e. fit for purpose as something you take out and about) and most likely decent battery life with new processors and that detachable keyboard that allows you to adapt and suit the many environments you find yourself in when adventuring.
Ive been using the Zenbook duo 14 for years now. Ive been waiting for this realease! Once you use a dual screen laptop you can never go back! This is a natural upgrade for me.
I'm a macOS user myself, but this laptop legit sparked my interest in Windows laptops. It looks really cool and yes, I definitely agree - 2 screens is almost a must! I'm literally using my iPad basically as a second screen to run like UA-cam videos on it all day long, so I won't have to waste any screen space on my MacBook :)
Windows suck as
MacBooks are so 1990s that any 2023/2024 Windows laptop is amazing with their futuristic touch screens, pen support, OLED screens, 2-in-1 designs, finger print sensors, instant on capabilities, etc.
@@zihechen3111 Wow! What a logical detailed post. It is clear you are an expect on laptops.
The problem is that they run Windows so the user experience is much worse for most people than on a Mac @@RK-um9tu
@@zihechen3111 it's awesome bro
Love your channel!!!
This both looks and sounds incredible! my only concern personally is how well the keyboard stays in place since i like to use my laptop sometimes while laying in bed at odd angles and it would suck to have to reposition myself every time I want to type something if I don't want to use a digital keyboard.
I have the Lenovo 9i, and it is the best device I ever had.
I have the ZenBook duo and absolutely love it, I don't think I can justify the upgrade but this is some piece of kit! Great review well done
I love this. The screen mirror option is such a use case for me. I often have people huddled round my screen in meetings as I demonstrate stuff, to be able to share it with the other side of the desk is a game changer
Awesome content keep it up as always bro
As a student. Taking notes, Writing papers, playing games on the go. This thing looks amazing. I am stoked to see it in person.
Hi do you have an estimate release date?
wonder how the oleds will be with the cooling at high temps,
@thetechcap Quisiera que me resolvieran una duda, ¿este pc explosivo supera al ipad pro con su funda teclado verdad? Espero su pronta respuesta
I'd like to see some test of workflow/rendering in photo and video editing software. And check if that graphic card is good enough for these tasks
That would be perfect for me in a 17" screen minimum and for me it's also missing a number pad on the keyboard. I've just bought a 18.5" uperfect portable monitor to go with my 17" laptop but would definitely consider something like this if the 2 things I mentioned were addressed. 👍
After 15" it's not a laptop anymore 😂
Man I would love to have one of these for my job! It would be perfect.
Is this officially released yet?? If so where can I buy?
When will this be available? I am looking for a laptop and this seems to be my option
Surface pro keyboard should have done the same as this one, still working when detached, with precision touchpad functionality.
I'm so glad I didn't purchase that expensive Yoga Book 9i 😂😂😂
This is the one I've been waiting for.
What about the screens? I get it's amazing when watching media but having a not so common 1800p resolution, do texts/icons look blurred or do they look fine?
I've been planing to get a laptop later this year for college and I'm sold but I have a few questions about it. How well does the pen work for notes? How good is the build quality? It almost is the perfect laptop if it was a 2 in 1 and had a USB c on both sides for chraging it would be the best laptop on the market. But there's framework accept this is so cool and versatile especially as someone going into college who has gotten use to dual screens on a desktop.
Great review ❤
O damn that's so awesome. Think they will make a Zephyrus duo in this style? a Beefed up (spec wise_) version.
Can you put it in its kickstand but turn off the lower display?
I'm so excited about this release. Apart from all the specs you mentioned, having a mobile second screen will save my neck/upper back complaints.
When is it coming out
So I agree with you. I can see myself using this at the office or at home when I want a second screen. The thing for me is that I have a dual screen setup with a separate monitor at home and at my office. My second screen is 27 inches. So I don't know where this might fit in with me personally. I would probably use it in normal laptop mode on a plane or in a coffee shop. This is why I love my Zenbook Duo with an extra half screen. It's always in regular laptop mode and yet I always have a second screen. But for content creators, I can see this being awesome.
What is the pricing? I don't see the pricing on the website! :/
Is this powerfull enough for content creation? (using adobe premier and after effects)
This is perfect for me. As a software developer who moves quite a lot or transfers cities sometimes, a setup is impossible for us. But I always need a dual screen and this laptops seems to finally end the pain. Will wait for it to come to IND.
You can also use a macbook with ipad as a second screen. With a cable connection works flawlessly as a second screen
i use Duet with my samsung tab and my macbook pro its really the same without the hinge of course
@@faridguzman91it's... not really the same? This will have both display ALL the time and no setup/connecting external device.
you can get cheap portable extra screens
there are external screens also. I use a 2k 16" over my laptop's keyboard. The laptop is raised. It cost me $150
The Zphyrus Duo gotta be amazing too
I see you have CS2 installed. Does it run well?
Can you put timestamps in your video?
What is the battery life, did you find that out?
Do the dual screens wobble like in hardware Canucks video? That would be annoying, I would not overlook it.
i would be worried if the keyoboard stays attached securely to the laptop.
This would be great to trade stocks on lol
Just wish there was a way to set up the keyboard so that it wasn’t flat on the surface.
Very tempting especially at their target pricing. What is the USB-C portable display you have in your setup?
That's most likely the UPerfect IPS LCD portable monitor.
Can anyone opine on how reliable the keyboard is? Is there any noticeable latency?
the debris that keyboard will pick up on the underside and then get placed on the lower screen, makes me shiver.
Online meeting + Note + excel sheet + browser..... amazing productivity
Do you like this better than the Lenovo yoga book 9i its basically the same price
Nice and price for such one is really good. For now I'll stick with my newly acquired EliteBook 835 G10 with 7840U/32GB/2TB Samsung 990 Pro and thinking of getting the latest Zenbook 14 155H/32GB/1TB 2.8K OLED for my wifey.
Curious how the thermals would be on this laptop, given that both halves have to make room for the displays lol
Does it have stylus?
I'm legit excited about this one and I may pick it up as my daily driver
As awesome as this already is. I can't wait for the inevitable GPU inclusive update. There are so many elements that come together beautifully, but would make even more sense with a dedicated GPU.
Agreed, i don't think i can wait for a dGPU to pull the trigger on this. This thing looks so functional for work and light gaming, i might just get it and attach an external GPU later. thoughts?
@@j0404tExternal GPU is garbage via Thunderbolt. You don't get the full bandwidth.
can it play Talos 2 or the newest Tomb Raider? Will linux run on it?
Was excited about the price based on the reviews till I went on their website and it seems to be going for £1999 in the UK 😕
Has the pen and all the tools necessary… draws horse with finger 😂😂😂
is it still fast when unplugged? if it's not then I'd rather get a macbook
Great idea and if the sketch pen is at or near that of the Surface Pro then I would seriously consider it. Artist here.
Great job by Asus in perfecting the form factor they started with years ago although Lenovo was first to the scene there was a lot to be desired from them. ASUS has got this much better though battery life might not be that great copnsidering two screens are being powered unless they both have their own individual batteries.
Prices and release dates ? please
Question: can you duplicate the first display onto the second display?
Yes
Almost there, but pretty close! Love it
If the lower screen is able to provide good notetaking/drawing experience, this would be very attractive to uni students since it does both the job of a laptop and tablet
It does since it comes bundled with a pen.
@@Az__are Asus pens good? Compared to Surface or Lenovo?
Im really curious how long the battery would last with two OLED 120Hz screens, let alone the new CPU's
The new Meteor Lake CPUs are actually more energy efficient than last years models so at least you don't have to worry in particular about those.
It is 2024 ALL laptops have great battery life.
I have the maxed out 15" duo and it's badass! Just wish this guy had a Max-Q card.
This looks very promising, will be a serious consideration when it comes time to get a new laptop in the next 2 years. Who doesn't sit in front of their laptop and think to themselves, if only I had another screen.
I want this - where is the inventory?!
It seems the stylus is still an afterthought: no storage solution and not even in the vid. I have the 9i and it sucks to have the stylus and keyboard separate. Two screens, one note on the right and marking up pdfs on the left.....bliss.
Amazing how if went down in price when compared to Yoga 9i
It offers more than Lenovo.
Lenovo Yoga Book 9i doesn't even have a full keyboard with a track pad. The keyboard isn't even backlit. No HDMI port. No USB-A port. No 120Hz option. No 32GB of RAM option. No 2TB SSD option. No Intel Core Ultra 9 option.
There's no place for the keyboard to be stored in between both displays when closed.
It's overpriced for what you get and is inferior to the Asus Zenbook Duo 2024.
🤣🤣🤣
Anyone have any notion of the actual projected release date?
Q1 2024
umm the video clearly was better on your cam but the audio was very good on the laptop
Battery?
I just have to get one 🤤 Hope the price isn't too crazy, but I would expect it to be around over 2000 usd her in Denmark 😅
Need this for trading when travelling
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!! 👑🇯🇲🔥💥🌟⭐💯💎
All of the other devices IMO have been built with the secondary screen options being gimmicky and not very practical but this item seems to be built in a way that makes it not gimmicky and could be very practical for many use cases providing there's no gotcha hidden in there somewhere hmmm...
I'm still waiting for a full review
I think this works nicely for my neck pain and fix the awkward angle of zoom meetings!
i hope they create a version with CPU at the back at the bottom screen, and GPU at the back at the main screen. Why? thermal, CPU and GPU have dedicated heat pipe and fan make it able to handle more power with small form factor.
and maybe you can have more battery
More battery life isn't possible with more powerful hardware running on x86 processors.
Snapdragon X Elite has to pave the way for future Windows laptops.
Is there AMD APU version of this?
Can you close it without the keyboard?
Yes
I think is perfect for programming
this seems much more well built and not glitchy, however yoga 9i makes more sense but unfortunately it clutters a lot and its damn expensive.
16 inch version next year I bet
5:20 now THIS is my goal for my future Desktop set up 🤩😍
Tom / Tech Chap team: are you able to test if this Asus Duo 2024 can run 2 large monitors concurrently? like 2 monitors the same size as your monitor there? obvs the 1st monitor will connect via the onboard HDMI port, but for the 2nd monitor can it connect via USB-C? orrr can you connect a multiport hub to either the USB-A or USB-C and use the HDMI port on that to connect the 2nd monitor? try to see if that set up will work (because multiport hubs gives so much more options like another HDMI port, many other USB ports, ethernet port etc etc.)
This is my dream machine. I want it right now
If it had Tent mode it would be almost perfect.
Not possible when they went with the more practical approach which is having the keyboard rest in between both screens while closed. That's why the hinge isn't 360 degrees like on the Yoga Book 9i.
🤣🤣🤣
Excellent Design,practical.
Could this new Asus ZenBook Duo function as a dual external display when connected via USB-C to a laptop like LG Gram? Taking it one step further, if the other notebook's GPU is powerful enough and two TB4-equivalent ports are available, can TWO Asus Duo's be connected to create a FOUR external display setup?
Another question. In dual display mode, can the keyboard be connected to the displays using cable to avoid latency?
Thanks in advance!
Of course NOT.
It only has Display OUT functionality.
~cries in left-handed~
Asus is living in the future.
I will buy this over a Mac everyday
If it can handle gaming, I might consider it
Imagine how good Surface Neo will be if Microsoft didn’t cancel it
Yeah ikr, and it made far more sense than the Surface Duo. Which is ironic as Surface Duo did enter production and there were 2 iterations of it whereas Neo was outright cancelled. The surface team is high on crack.
I think there was an engineering issue with the Surface Neo. It was incredibly thin, and I don’t think they could deliver. It would have been an amazing device if they could have pulled it off. It was a rare event to announce a device well before launch, and I was devastated when they cancelled development.
Damn..... That would be the OG
@@shatark6Asus Project Precog would've been the OG.
Do your research next time.
I think about the Surface Neo often.
Great price.. I wasn't expecting that
First time ever I pre ordered a laptop. Only downside is I could only pre order with 1tb ssd and the ssd is apparently under the mainboard so upgrading is a bitch but other then that I can't wait to start using it
I just watched this from Linus. Well, It seems pretty cool. Although the Windows delay, just make me a bit less excited. Was imagine if it can as smooth as on Ads 😂😂
Given it’s a gaming laptop, what I’m most interested in is the battery life. Especially when both screens are on. On max settings, I’m guessing 1.5 hours is already pretty long.
This is zenbook, zenbook is consumer lineup. Also the chipset is ultra which used to be the U series that actually have good battery life
Who said this is a gaming laptop?
@@shaowlnkngfu3803You're absolutely right. LOL I got thrown off by the "game changer". My bad, guys :D
Editor's nightmare at 11:06 😢😢
hi for work thas 2 t ok because the fails of new camera ar big i am thinking getting this one
I love it. But in the USA it's $1499, I assume sales tax is added so then that would make it £1285, i just seen the UK pricing: £1999!!
can u game on this?
I'm curious about the battery life.
Same here.
Only Thing I do not get is why not make it 360degree foldable? The setup is perfect for it and it would turn it from a really great laptop idea to an immediate buy for me.
having 2 touch screens that I can use in pyramid mode or even tablet mode would be perfect, for work as well (i.e. showing something to a colleague when no screen is available or even F2F co-working on something...)
Maybe 2025 😢
Yeah that's one main advantage of the Lenovo Yogabook right now, having full 360
Man, the lag on that thing is horrendous.
