People having an issue with lamb when chicken, turkey, and duck also rarely make it to 6 months before being slaughtered...

Good point. Chicken, turkey, duck, and sheep all have similar life spans. The cow is roughly twice as long.

    • @KrisRN23935
      @KrisRN23935 4 місяці тому +3

Also, not so fun Fact: Part of the reason Cow is considered the worst livestock for the environment is because of their longer life span. So, livestock like chicken have a lot less of an environmental footprint. The other reasons are size of the animal and the space needed.

Alluded to in the video, I want to emphasize, the animal is secondary to the preparation method.

Alpha Gal is a newer, tick-born allergy that makes people allergic to the protein specific to mammals, so there's a whole other category of people who can't have any pork, beef, goat, lamb, etc. My fiancé and several family friends have been diagnosed, and it's a big adjustment for sure! We definitely understand Nichole's love for beef and how much of a struggle it would be to give it up when it's in your top 3 😭😂🫶🏻 Lots of love for the show, the crazy banter between you two is always entertaining! 😂😊❤

Sorry to hear that. Try looking into prolonged water fasting. & autophagy. It's quite complex and hard to understand but basically.
Prolonged fasting has shown to produce stem cells in great numbers and allow for healing that that previously would have been considered unable to be healed.
Aka, copd, diabetes type 1 & 2, failure of the heart kidneys or even liver. Or disease of these organs. Fatty liver, necrosis of live. Etc etc. The list is thousands long beleive it not. Most of the poor world practices this quite often ( sometimes not by choice ). But in the first world countries of the world it seems lost and even is said to be dangerous by doctors but I assure you it is safe If you do it in steps and allow time to rest in between fasts. ( I suggest 3,5,7,10,14 days to start for anyone with serious problems. )
Autophagy is the ( not 100% certain on all it does fyi ) process of the body taking damages cells and removing them whilst also creating new cells that are able to replace the old cells it how the body recovers from those incurable diseases that doctors speak so fearfully of.
You really need to read it for yourself. I promise there are people who have healed themselves with fasting just take a look online. I've done hundreds of hours of studying and can say this stuff is more legit then any medication used for these illnesses. Not doubting meds just saying most come with more side effects then they are worth. Some are however miracles.

Just hand-waving away Bison as just another type of beef is a huge disservice to Bison. Eat a Bison Ribeye back to back with a beef ribeye, and your life will change. THe only reason I ever eat cow beef now is because its cheaper. Bison is THE red meat. Lamb a close second.

I think in terms of animals, I’d have to break it into categories. for poultry, it’s duck, by far, for me. For red meats, I’d say gemsbok, lamb, and goat, all slightly ahead of beef for me. Chicken, gator, and snake are all okay, but basically taste like whatever they’re seasoned/marinated with. For fish, I tend to prefer good tuna or crabs (specifically, whole steamed blue crabs or crab cakes), though I enjoy crawfish and steamed clams and lobster quite a bit also. I think catfish is like the one fish that is better deep fried than any other way to prepare it. However, if we include eggs in there with chicken, then I’d say chicken overall would be my favorite animal to consume. Love me some eggs. (Is it obvious that living in New Orleans and Namibia is where I really learned to cook?)

I know many of my southern friends think it’s blasphemy, but I’m with Josh on grits. In Namibia, there was this grits-like thing called pop, that was a really common porridge. They sell a flavored one for breakfast, and ever since then, I’ve been open to good sweet grits. A little sugar, a dollop of yogurt, a bit of sliced fruit/berries, maybe a drizzle of syrup. It’s a pretty solid breakfast

I think an interesting step further in this conversation would be: if you could only eat one animal and its byproducts, what would you pick? So if you love eggs, gotta pick a poultry. Or if you love cheese, gotta pick something with worthwhile milk.

For me at age 50 and weightlifting my meat needs more lean protein like chicken, turkey, talipia, and shrimp. But then you got tto add some salmon for omega 3's. Salmon has the most flavor. Fatty meats and meats with a bone have lots of flavor. Of course for those meats like chicken with little flavor just add some flavor with Tony Chachere's Seasoning.

Pigs. Hands down. If you get some quality genetics they are on the whole extremely resilient, prolific, and have an insane turn around of under 12 months if you keep their needs met. Not to mention you can just toss one over a fire and eat it. You can't do that with a cow. The farm I live on aquired 6 Mangalitsa sows and pure American Duroc boar last season and we got 39 piglets even with less than desirable conditions. Getting ready to welcome 6 more litters any day now. Gonna do a whole hog roast in June and I'm calling dibs on the cheek meat or some jowels.

Tough call. I’d probably say lobster. You dont need any seasoning and you can cook it right in the shell. I win.

Lamb or duck are definitely the tastiest, probably lamb. People eat more pork or chicken but those are both relatively bland, just cheap. Beef is a halfway point between those.

Chicken that’s really good, is really really good. But most chicken is mediocre. The best chicken I ever had was at the melting pot fondue restaurant. I cooked chicken in a boiling broth that was seasoned. It was AMAZING. Super moist and the perfect texture.
Not all chicken is the same. The size variations freak me out. Like a giant chicken breast cannot be good for you…the giant chicken clearly has some chemical thing going on.

My favorite chicken has to be the kind that is marked with no water injected into them because these chickens are the supreme of them all and always come out tasting super moist even when cooking them at home.
Now cooking chicken that has been injected with water always comes out tasting tougher even sometimes rubbery unfortunately..
If for whatever reason the only kind chicken you can buy is injected with water then salt brine it over night the next day rinse it off and pat dry it and trust your chicken will come out so moist but it takes time, practice and patience til you perfect the perfectly moist chicken...

I've been vegan and vegetarian before (BUT I've had a severe soy allergy since birth, but I still tried to be vegetarian/vegan) But for my digestive system's sake, I have to begin eating meat again. But now I LOVE seafood and poultry. But the worst meat (In my opinion) I've ever consumed was Kangaroo. It's SO strong and gamey. It's NOT my favorite.
