The amount of enjoyment of wrestling coming out of this guy at this age is crazy, it reminds me of my wrestling/science teacher. He’s 60 years old and probably in the best shape of his life, he’s a navy veteran, he’s worked at our school for more than 25 years and is still as spry as he was when he started
John smith and Jesse leng are bar none some of the best technicians I have found on youtube. They are sooooo thorough on every facet of what they are teaching- body part(s) positioning; drive; angle; feel and even adjustments to the shot if it doesnt unfold as told. Videos like these are a gold mine that many people dont utilize, imo. I got the jden cox and bo nickals videos from fanatic wrestling...and they are awesome too.....especially for the low price! Thanks guys!
I consider myself a duck under and arm drags specialist. I've never seen the duck executed like this. It's almost like a combination of a standard duck and a long arm drag. SO good. I can't wait to try it.
BJJ guys have so many techniques transferred from Go to no-Gi for ground work, but for standing wrestling has impressive skills to learn from. Thanks 👍
god i love duck unders. i love em off a collar tie, second he pushes in i take an outside step as i drop all the way to the mat holding onto that head or rotating over to a half as hes going down
It's John Smith and Jordan Boroughs as the best US wrestlers in history. Interesting that he wants the deceptive tactic of having the head on the opposite side of the duck under.
fantastic video but I laugh every time his partner thinks its time to wrestle and coach stops and starts talking again. all respect to the great one. His passion for the sport hasn't ebbed at all.
Not to be a stickler or anything, Its John Smith for Pete's sake but, he is coaching a penetration step with the lead foot yet not actually penetrating with it; just changing levels. I do it the same way and most people who are comfortable with the duck have formed this habit as well. I am sure Smith is more than comfortable with the duck and that is perhaps a gross understatement (lol). Do you think this is the case with experienced "duckers" because they understand the necessary pressure and the feel of the move or, is the penetration step something you do earlier learning the technique to almost "force the duck" when there is not enough resistance?
Thank you Mr. Smith. It was instructive. I have a query to posit. Should a wrestler focus on one trick until s/he finishes it? For example, you have focused on ducking under. Will you keep focused on that art or will you always watch for other cracks and fissures to have the opportunity to conduct another trick or art. This is important to me so I would really appreciate your answer, please.
What’s fascinating is the explanation of existing forces in a given position and where they tend to resolve which creates an opening to penetrate and score. Those aren’t easy to see or understand without a lot of experience.
Damn he's 54 years old and still pops that move like greased lightning.
🤗👍🏻
Please tell me he’s older than 54 in this vid
Lol who the hell gives a great video like this a thumbs down crazy this is gold
💯
Yeah, one of the greatest technicians in the sport. What's to hate?
The guys that constantly got ducked 😂
Great Vodeo
Someone that John hit it on years ago

Drives down value, sadly. C'est la vie
Wrestlers are so dominating in MMA. And then you have this guy, head above everyone else.

The visible passion for the technique at around 7:00 is just so nice to see, when a guy loves a move he teaches it so well

Very good coach, his athletes are lucky to have him

He makes that look so smooth. What a great coach!

Well done, Oakie!
wow this move is absolutely beautiful.
0.5 speed is JUST about slow enough for me to see all that's going on ... so awesome.
god i love duck unders. i love em off a collar tie, second he pushes in i take an outside step as i drop all the way to the mat holding onto that head or rotating over to a half as hes going down

Coach Smith is the GOAT 🐐

Feel like it’s a bit of both
Great content, much needed details!
Thank you Mr. Smith. It was instructive.

The legend!

🤗🤙🏻
Really 💓 thanks sir
ありがとう!
Beautiful
I hardly ever finished my duck under in a duck under fashioned. Usually it was my set up for a double. Never my 2nd plan tbh lol
What the hell,
Your lecture is much more than working and teaching the technique
Something that helps me with duck under monkey grip is pretending im giving gas to a motorcycle
Greatttttty
🔥
This guy at his age is very strong
Lol This guy. That’s John Smith dude.
5:18 he stabs his knee right into the mat and extends his right hip inward
genio!!!
日本のレスリングと
何かが違うね。
凄いや。
5:20 mans got ducked straight to hell
Sir very NICE, but what's meaning of cowboys.
He is the head coach for Oklahoma State University Cowboys and the video was taken in their practice facility.
A cowboy is a person who herds cattle for a living.
Lol 😂
This man wrestles the cow as well as the man?
"ALL the time I'm jammin!"
We’re jammin and I hope ya like jammin too
Goat
Wow thats money
