I can’t give a big enough thanks to you, Rick Shiels, and the game of golf. I’ve hit dark times mentally and golf has been my saving grace. I only picked it up 3 months ago but it has given me something to focus on, practice, be outside in the sunshine, and a reason to follow and enjoy your content. If anyone is ever in a dark point in their life, keep fighting!
Thanks for sharing this. I can definitely relate. Golf and weight lifting brought me out of dark times. Hope your game continues to get better and your times get more bright
My last two years have also been very stressful. But getting to the course, a lot less regularly than before, but getting out there has been a life saver. Also, seeing someone having fun and smiling is restorative. Keep up the work Rick
What a beautiful view on 13. I just love when golf courses mow their fairways like that. Only happens at the really nice courses so I don’t get to see those patterns but once every year or 2. So jealous
I think the one very underrated part of this whole B75 series, from S1 to S2, is how much work the camera guys have done to bring "exciting" videography to pretty much every shot played. Congrats everyone, awesome work and progression.

Very Nice observation Brian his tempo is too fast and his putting is completly off. And by the way throwing club is not a good way to promote the game Ricky boy..calm down or take a break playing
I just went back and watched last season's episode of your trip around the Old Course at St. Andrews. The total joy on your face as you played so well is fantastic to see. I'd like to think if you can look for that joy and put a little less pressure on yourself, you'll be under 75 very soon. Thanks for a great video series!
Hey Rick - love the break 75 series! It’s great to see you play good golf but what I really empathise with is how much you obviously love being out on the course. We all share that feeling and that’s why we watch the vids!
Hey Rick, I've been a fan for a while. You actually got me back into playing golf for fun. I know that the challenge for these videos is to break 75, but Guy has it right. I feel you do a lot better when you play one shot at a time. You'll make it happen, I know you have the skill and knowledge.
Long time fan, first time caller. Really appreciate the content, Rick. You’re tips have helped me improve my consistency in iron and driver swings. Love the series. Love from Florida.
What a delightful video. Two friends playing golf on an amazing but difficult course, and being totally honest about what they are doing well and what they are not. I enjoyed it tremendously.
Hey Rick! What would you think of doing a “I tried to improve my golf / something golf related for 30 days challenge?” I think that would be really enjoyable to watch you try to improve in a documented series and it could even help the viewers too. Cheers!
Perfect idea!! Rick hires a swing coach and starts working on the things that are most holding the scoring back and work backwards from there. It would show the average player how to break down the game, what things to work on - even some drills to help with certain parts of the game....Maybe start with chipping / feel shots around the green; lag putting; distance control on approach shots; building a go-to driver shot; building a pre-shot routine; finish up with everyone's favourite - the mental side of the game.
From my personal experience setting out with a target score in mind only ever leads to disaster! (as good a lesson as any instructional video). Great video as always and well done Rick for sharing the lows as well as the highs which make our wonderful game so unique.
Rick, love the series season one and two have are great content. It’s relatable for everyone who plays golf, and knows they can hit it better then they are. It can be incredibly frustrating, try to keep having fun out there . Also love seeing Guy golf too. Keep going and I’m sure you will return to form.
Golf has a way of humbling even the best of players every now and again. I find that those challenging rounds are the ones that make you a better golfer. They have a way of bringing out the inner competitor in you and give you the hunger and drive to do better. You are an amazing golfer that has inspired and helped many people improve their own game. I love your videos and look forward to the next one.
Love this content Rick. We all know those feelings of slogging round the course when it's not going your way, usually when your playing partner is having a blinder!! It will come.
Can't help but feel when I"m watching Rick doing these challenges or grounds of golf, his driving and wedges are horrid when his swing speed jumps up, but when hes at a smoother tempo its so crisp.
If you've never played a tour venue, especially around tournament time, it's a completely different game than what we play. I was a 5.9 about 20 years ago and played the TPC Scottsdale from the championship tees a week or so after the PGA played it. I hit the ball as well as I've ever hit it in my life. I was on fire. I still to this day say it's some of the best golf I've ever played... Still shot a 94. I had two four-putts. It was so insanely long that GIR was basically out of the question, and putting on glass would've been slower than the greens were. Being in the rough meant gouging out with a full swing just to make it back to the fairway. Even if you're a single-digit handicap, we just aren't playing anything like the game those guys are playing.
Played Liberty National 2 days after The Northern Trust (still set up with Sunday pins). Incredible the speeds of the greens.... I am nowhere near a 5.9 (put a 1 in front of the 5). Great day though!
Absolutely disagree, played 2 courses the day after a European event and found them not much different to any other time. The greens are a bit quicker but they are also so much better so makes up for it
On my BEST ever day, on my local course, I ONCE shot 82!!! I was over the moon! I haven't picked up a club in nearly a decade now, but I love watching these golf videos. If I was to do a series now it would be "Break 100 and please don't put me on a course with a straight driver hit is necessary!"
Unbelievable that a pro would put himself out there to show us all what a hard game this is - all with grace and good humour when its not going his way! Fantastic stuff Rick, and please keep it coming. Such a humble man to post this!!
Rick…. Followed you about a year now, and let me be straight to you. I’ve been playing golf since 1988, and one thing i learned the last ten years, is to not to be hard on myself (after a bad shoot), never predict a score like…”today i’m gonna shoot par”…. I nowdays go out and play, and see what the score will be today, is it par or ten over, i dont care. Did i enjoy my round? Yes! Did i have good company? Yes! Did we laugh alot? Yes! Last but not least, after each round, me and my pals must tell our BEST three shots of the round. With that we drive from the course with a good mindset. Either you go under 75 or over 80, i stil love your vids❣️🙌🏼
Rick, I absolutely love your channel. All winter I’ve been trying to decide which clubs to get ( I’m looking to upgrade) you helped me make my decision. Thank you.
Well done to Guy for trying hard to keep you positive. I totally feel the struggles you are going through but there are positives! Much better on the short shots, less chunks and better commitment. Keep going Rick we know you can do it.
Really appreciate the transparency of this series. Would be interesting to see some content on what you're working on between rounds in regards to making the improvements you want to see.
Love the break 75 video and how honest you are with them could so easily “edit” your score for the video. Sure 74 will come as it gets warmer and the layers come off. Would be great so see guys score for the round as well
Rick, one of the real reasons I enjoy watching you is because you are real. Just like all of us, you have good and bad days. It’s how we end our bad days, that matter. To choose to keep learning and keep trying. Thank you for showing the real you! I enjoy every minute.
Rick, Love you and your channel! I think you would enjoy the break 75 rounds more if you played one stroke at a time mentally and develop a pre shot routine for your short game and putting! Thanks for the videos and laughs!
Have always been very thankful for all of your instructional videos and they have brought me from the mid 90s to mid to upper 80s. So watching you in the Break 75 series struggle at times makes me feel A LOT better. As I know I don’t practice enough for what I have for scoring goals. So thank you for keeping it real.
Off the two this is the outstanding difference between the two. Rick has negative thoughts in his head a lot, break 75 is dominating so when he is behind target he gets down on himself. Short game easily cost him those 5 shots and can almost feel his “where is this going” thoughts prior to hitting the ball.
this is such a great video to see why result focused approach often leads to disaster instead of just focusing on the process and each individual shot.
Honestly, I think the biggest difference between Rick and the Pro's is their putting. I've watched 40-50 videos of Rick playing, and he leaves SO MANY STROKES on the putting greens. If you're 3 putting frequently you can't ever break 75 without two miracle shots.
He sucks at chipping and putting but the biggest prob is he doesn't hit it close enough with his irons. I played yesterday and couldn't buy a putt missed 5 birdys inside 8 foot on the front nine but yet I was still 2 under. I made a 25 footer and a 10 footer but the 25 foot putt was the longest putt I had all day. I even missed a 3 1/2 footer for birdy so I putted like crap and still shot a 73.
I love this series. Just take it easy on yourself. You are hitting shots that I would dream of hitting. You are awesome and you have so many people who support you no matter what. Take it easy buddy. You rock.
« I enjoyed it » lier, you’re suffering and it’s sad… It’s just golf and best entertainment coaches don’t need to play like Woods 😘 Breath, relax, and enjoy for real, we’ll love you anyway !
You are so likable man. I just watched you shopping for clubs at Saint Andrews and it was absolutely awesome to see the town. Thanks for doing these videos.
I think that round just about about sums up golf for the most of us....or at least for me anyway. I always approach the first tee with excitement of what I can shoot that day and then it's just about managing expectations on the course. But it's SO hard to not get annoyed, and affected, when you hit one or two bad shots, especially when you've been hitting the ball well up to that point and the bad shots are just out of nowhere. It's maddening and ultra-frustrating but learning to deal with those emotions can be a real game-changer for most of us. Love seeing these kind of videos where you play home courses of tour-pros and would be great if you did more of them.
I really do enjoy the break 75 series. I been on the road all week and the DVR is full and wouldn't you know the first thing I watch tonight is the Break 75 series. Love it!!
Rick, I really appreciate you sharing a round when you didn't play as great as you normally do. If it can happen to you, it can happen to anyone. Keeps things in perspective. One shot at a time is the way to go! I love your videos so much!
Rick, absolutely love watching your videos you actually got me into golf and I know we are miles apart in quality and I’m trying to break 100/90 and your doing a 75 but think about it! I don’t know if it’s different from the video to real life but I think you need to relax because when you aren’t relaxed your trying to hit your shots to hard instead of the club doing the work! Keep at it mate! Don’t give up! Doing class and Guy!! Great work!!
Great video. Nothing wrong with being humble and showing your struggles. I will love to see an 80 right now. Just hit an 84 for the first time. I have watched you for years. It will come back. Stick to it. Again, great video. Gives the rest of us mortals hope.
Chipping has come a long way Rick! Loving the series, it's real with real emotions in it. Some people might edit out the angry times but that's golf, and it helps me connect to your videos more. Keep up Rick you'll break 75!
Keep your head up mate. You'll get it. I've been watching your videos and listening to the podcast since last fall and quite enjoy them. You've inspired me to pick up the game. Keep doing what you're doing and thank you.
Hey Rick I’m following you from Puerto Rico. This year season has been so great, Seeing the human side of you makes Golf great…Golf is not for humans…jajajajaj….Thank You!!!!
Wow what a beautiful golf course that is, hope to play there one day:) thanks for another great video rick this series is so good, exactly the type of stuff youtube was made for
18 holes compacted in under 20 mins, with incredible cinematography and all round brilliant golf is hard to find. Loved it. I’ll aspire to doing the same on my channel.
As someone who has not broken 120 yet. It’s unbelievably encouraging to see a golf pro have some hard times on the course as well. This series is so fun to watch and I enjoy you any way you play keep this coming!!!
Love your content Rick, thank you! Break 75 is awesome. Need you to lift in terms of positive mindset though, feels like you are binning the rounds after 5 holes every time, back yourself to scramble!
Each and every putt I see you play, I am sooo hoping for you to get it. I'm literally on the edge of the couch, reading greens with you 😅 It's so little that makes the difference between it being in the hole and slingshotting out of it. Keep up the great content Rick (and team), you're a great source of inspiration, entertainment and learning 😊
Love the content Rick, love the break 75 series, can’t help but feel like your chasing every shot and putting pressure on yourself I can relate to some of the driver shots 😂😂
Been following your channel for some time and love the break 75 series. You have done several ball revues and tests but I have not seen you doer a comparison on the Srixon soft feel V the Srixon distance ball , would love to see your results of this. Keep doing what your doing, love it!!
Rick you need to give that Cleveland Huntington Beach Soft 11 putter a shot again you used on one of those golf bidder vlogs. You putted great with that thing. Love the channel. Cheers
Rick thank you for the great content. Guy made a very good point in this video. You just need to stay within yourself and go shot by shot. Which is some of the advice you have given to all of us and I thank you for bettering my golf game over the last couple of years!
Keep up the good work and effort Rick! Some days the ball gets a mind of its own and you feel almost helpless out there, it’s just part of the game. Keep working and move onto the next!! 👍🏼
Love these videos, really interesting watch and nice to see a human side to the game. Would definitely say though, am much as you want to break 75, give yourself a break too!! It can get very frustrating out there and I have bee like yourself getting down about what has happend and losing it a bit with shots I've made. As much as I work on my golf I have made an effort to work on myself too and try not to get to worked up over what happens. Just go and and enjoy it, if something bad happens then it happens and I try and move on. I having been playing better mostly down to my attitude and trying not to let things get to me. Remember to enjoy yourself out there and work on yourself as well as your golf, it will come. Keep smiling no matter what #break75 #keepsmiling #enjoyyourgolf
Hey Rick, Just so you know; Watching your videos and applying techniques learned thereof, have taken my score from mid 90's to a personal best of 72 (par) at my home course. I sincerely attribute my success(es) to the umpteenth number of "improve your game" videos you've uploaded to your UA-cam channel. Seriously, just seeing how a Pro like you assess the shot and then strikes the ball accordingly, has helped me break par ( a few times now). You're a stud, and I thank you the world over for all the effort you put into every one of your videos. All the best, and may your next round be smothered and drowned in Birdie Sauce.
So glad you post these less than perfect rounds Rick, gives us ordinary golfers so much hope. Personally I'm coming off 3 months of the most abysmal golf possible culminating in my worst round ever on Tuesday, played again Thursday and was 34 shots better on the same course so there is light at the end of the tunnel. And much kudos to Guy's positive attitude during the round a true friend
Such a stunning golf course with amazing English countryside. Thanks for another great video and sorry for you that your game wasn’t better! I think next time you’ll break 75.

Guy is an excellent addition to this, his input and then the banter you share is really cool :)
great video
Guy is the best "cheerleader" in golf. He tried to keep Rick's head in the game the entire round.
I thought the same. Guy must be an awesome person to have with you when you golf.
Completely agree. Maybe Guy should caddy for Rick and Rick should do what he says!! Great series Rick …. really enjoying it
Completely disagree. Sick of seeing him on the videos. He gets too much air time. He's the producer not the person we look to watch.

Guy 10/10, Rick 8/10
I love this series. Just take it easy on yourself. You are hitting shots that I would dream of hitting. You are awesome and you have so many people who support you no matter what. Take it easy buddy. You rock.
« I enjoyed it » lier, you’re suffering and it’s sad… It’s just golf and best entertainment coaches don’t need to play like Woods 😘
Breath, relax, and enjoy for real, we’ll love you anyway !
for real
Keep that positivity flowing! It’s the best way to ensure a good time no matter what that score card is reading.
"Golf is impossible. Fuck this game. I'm never playing again."
"Alright Bill, see you next week."
Tale as old as Golf.
You are so likable man. I just watched you shopping for clubs at Saint Andrews and it was absolutely awesome to see the town. Thanks for doing these videos.
Is it just me thinking "I wish my good game was as bad as Rick's when he isn't happy" - Great content as ever.
Ricky, gotta keep that positive mindset! Attitude is everything my guy, you’re a winner, go win.🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
The editing 👌👌👌 another fantastic video Rick. Massively helps an amateur golfer like myself
Great video. Nothing wrong with being humble and showing your struggles. I will love to see an 80 right now. Just hit an 84 for the first time. I have watched you for years. It will come back. Stick to it. Again, great video. Gives the rest of us mortals hope.
This is so much fun. It is like watching a car wreck but you enjoy every part of it. You will get it this year. I have no doubts.
This really shows, what it does to you, when you play for a score. Great stuff
your chipping around the green makes me feel a lot better about mine, so i appreciate it
Chipping has come a long way Rick!
Wow what a beautiful golf course that is, hope to play there one day:) thanks for another great video rick this series is so good, exactly the type of stuff youtube was made for
Loving guys encouragement, keep going Rick love the break 75 series just need to keep going and it will come.
18 holes compacted in under 20 mins, with incredible cinematography and all round brilliant golf is hard to find. Loved it. I’ll aspire to doing the same on my channel.
always a pleasure! i'm waiting for the next one because I heard you were rocking it!
Hats off to the editor behind the scenes here, they are doing a quality job. Loving the series Rick
Keep your head up Rick! I’m rooting for you on every shot brother!
Love the content Rick, love the break 75 series, can’t help but feel like your chasing every shot and putting pressure on yourself I can relate to some of the driver shots 😂😂
Keepin it Real Shielsy, respect for showing us “a warts and all” golf game..
Been following your channel for some time and love the break 75 series. You have done several ball revues and tests but I have not seen you doer a comparison on the Srixon soft feel V the Srixon distance ball , would love to see your results of this. Keep doing what your doing, love it!!
One of your best videos yet. The editing and all the little extras were next level!
love seeing you both play together
Rick you need to give that Cleveland Huntington Beach Soft 11 putter a shot again you used on one of those golf bidder vlogs. You putted great with that thing. Love the channel. Cheers
Rick thank you for the great content. Guy made a very good point in this video. You just need to stay within yourself and go shot by shot. Which is some of the advice you have given to all of us and I thank you for bettering my golf game over the last couple of years!
Could watch this man every day all day Rick your a inspiration man noting but love and respect 🫡 💙
Keep up the good work and effort Rick! Some days the ball gets a mind of its own and you feel almost helpless out there, it’s just part of the game. Keep working and move onto the next!! 👍🏼
Every time I play golf now I narrate the shot analysis aloud in the Queen's English ha thanks Rick. Love from the new world. 🇨🇦
Keep smiling no matter what #break75 #keepsmiling #enjoyyourgolf
great fun. like to see you struggle as well Rick. Best banter for ages on UA-cam. Westy "can't believe you didn't play that" 18th hole wall shot.
Loving the editing!
It happened to the best of us. Guy is the ultimate golf partner to play with, amazing attitude! Keep it up 🤙
Rick your the man!!! Love this series!!! Can't wait to see what you shoot next time!!!! Keep your head up bud!!!
I love this video. Makes me feel like I'm not alone on those days
Love these videos Rick! Shows the very human side to our beloved game!
"5:40 pm on a tuesday in April. Rick got up and down".
Had one yesterday, one of the best feelings.
Refreshing to see for us mid teen handicappers. such a haard game. It's suppoesed to be be fun but weve gotta remember that.Great Vid Rick
This series is the best, keep it going!
Hey Rick,
Just so you know;
Watching your videos and applying techniques learned thereof, have taken my score from mid 90's to a personal best of 72 (par) at my home course.
Excellent content once again from Rick and the team, head up pal, like you said you’ll get there
Loving guys involvement in this series . It’s more like two mates playing a round.
Such a stunning golf course with amazing English countryside. Thanks for another great video and sorry for you that your game wasn’t better! I think next time you’ll break 75.
Love these types of videos! Great optimism and I’m sure you will break 75 soon!
Another great video Rick. Thanks for the great content keep it coming. 75 is definitely in your locker and will come soon I’m sure.
