Just a GREAT video I learned a lot more from your fast paced video than the other videos on youtube showing me the easiest way to build a shed lol, Thanks guys
hi guys, the greatest success that ive ever had was by using the Wilfs Shed Formula (i found it on google) without a doubt the most useful info that I've tried.
Hmmmmm I need a shed and a SMALLER garden ......but for some reason I make my garden bigger every year, good thing my property is only so big 🤷🏼♀️ I can’t help it, I love it !!!! it’s just so much to take care of and do all by myself.....I don’t understand how people can be bored, I have so much I wanna do !!!!
Nice !!!! Since I don’t know how to build anything, you had a lot of good tricks.....now if I can just remember them when (or if) I get to build my desperately needed shed 😍
Yes do it yourself mate, the bought ones are too flimsy. I made my own from reclaimed timber using 3 by 2 studs, got eight foot lengths at only 1 pound sterling each but needed de-nailing. You will be much more proud and experienced if you build it yourself.
Love the trick for cutting the seats in the rafters. BUT would have like to have seen how you measured the sloped uprights in the side walls. I get that you fixed then removed a plate to underside of rafter. But then the uprights just appeared. Shame.
Probably held the board up against the side where it will go then just marked where the plate hit the board. That'd be my guess on how to do it with no measuring.
So if he knew the pitch of the roof 3/12 for example , those all correspond to an angle in degrees of bevel on saw , then you plumb up and mark either the long or short point of the angle . Measuring in place is very doable in this situation so definitely the easiest.
Nice that you used diagonals, this is pretty rare nowadays, but i still see these as very necessary. I think the structure have to be stable itself not with sheeting.
You inspired me to build my shed. Unfortunately I ordered my lumber from Lowes and got complete junk. They failed to pick it up as well. My dream is mostly ruined but I will try and salvage what I have. I'm going to Home Depot or a local lumber yard for future lumber.
Very cool video! I like the idea of the V frames in walls; not typical around here to do that. Always makes me laugh to see work done in centimeters. This is going to sound silly but I wish I could build stuff in metric. In Canada, everything is in metric EXCEPT construction. I just can't get my head around those fractions man...
Here in the UK we use centimetres and millimetres in construction. I was the last year in primary school to learn inches and feet as well as metric so I can do both. I live in a 200 year old house and believe me I can spot a metric measured piece of wood the minute I walk in a room. There isn't a single straight wall or regular length in the house. The man who floor tiled my hallway was so panic stricken by the job I told him to put down the tape measure and do it by eye so it looked right. The hallway is exactly as wide as it needs to be so a human can walk down it comfortably. It wasn't measured, it isn't straight and it works. They just did it with paces, arm lengths, thumbs and hand widths.
I took woodshop in school in the 80's. I had no interest in it really, my friends were just in the class. Wish I could go back and slap that dumb me and tell him to pay attention because this stuff is cool.
Nice work Dieter! With all your constructing in that shop, I for one "need" to see how you get them out of the shop! I guess the prima built cat house is a no brainer, but man am I curious to see how this and the other humongous buling gets transported out! Hilsen fra Osterøy :)
Great job. You certainly make i t look easy. I love the 1x2 inlays, must add a lot of rigidity. Can you tell me what skill saw your using. I know it's Metabo, but can't see model number. Is it light ?
Is there a video that shows what you did in minutes 1 through 3? I know you were leveling, I see the purpose of those wedges. But how do you level something that already has nails in it?? Do you take the nails off and reposition?
It's quite flat already so it's just about adjusting it to level. Even if it is was twisted or not very flat the nails are soft enough to bend in place by itself when adjusted.
Thank you for the great instructions you provide. I really enjoy your videos. However, I have a question. How do we weather proof the sides which back up against the back wall. I’m anchoring my shed to the wall of my house. I have a brick veneer house, but the concern would be the same regardless of it being weatherboard or brick veneer. My concern is when it rains directly in that area (back house wall) or when the wind pushes the rain in that direction, it will rot out the back wall. Does anyone here have any ideas or suggestions to deal with this? Thank you guys in advance 🙏
Anyone know what model that handheld cordless Makita drill is? It's got an 18V battery on it, a rear handle and it can cut at least 1.5 inches deep. It's not Makita's 6.5 inch circ saw or their 12V 3-3/8 circ saw. Is it Makita's 5-7/8 metal circ saw?
No 5 minute introduction, no talking, in fast motion, great video.
Thanks 👍
Followed it to a T and now have a pile of kindling. FANtastic.
That trick for the birds mouth without a square rafter tool was incredible, thanks!
Skilfully constructed, a pleasure watching you working
Just a GREAT video I learned a lot more from your fast paced video than the other videos on youtube showing me the easiest way to build a shed lol, Thanks guys
So many great little shortcuts in here, instead of measuring a million times. Thanks!
I've dreamed of building my own shed for a while now (just need a bigger garden), and I've saved this onto my account for reference. Thank you! 👍👍
Glad I could help!

@@rnupnorthbrrrsm6123 weird flex but okay.
did you get a bigger garden to build it?:)
This is so f-ing awesome...I love the slant roof style the most...Great video to watch. 👍
You make it look easy. Hard part is to get everything square and accurate cuts . Thanks for the video will attempt to build my own shed.
Yes, square, plum and true is important. You can do it!
Dieter Schneider , how do I make my own windows with polycarbonate and install to ensure a tight seal?
Nice !!!! Since I don’t know how to build anything, you had a lot of good tricks.....now if I can just remember them when (or if) I get to build my desperately needed shed 😍
You can do it!
I like the movement speed, almost like an animation.
по мне так одни из лучших видео для несложных построек)
I need you as a neighbor. Would pick your brain daily with your expertise at carpentry. Fun to watch you at work
very inspiring, I'll keep the trick for adjusting the roof beams. Thank you !
I would love to see part 2. I’m planning on building one but I need a simple build like this one. Or maybe plans for it. Thanks
Me too
🤣 the tap tap tap of your feet while you’re walking is hilarious
The movements remind me of claymation. And the little pitter-patter of you walking around is hilarious to me.
00:07:09 Nice trick for calculating the bird mouth cuts
Dieter, you are the shed building expert! Is there going to be a part 2?
Maybe :)
@@DieterSchneider looking forward to it.. .
Thanks for showing the build... I need a new shed and was in two minds whether to buy or make one... this looks tempting ...
Go for it!

Going to build one of these in a 12x10, just for garden tools/gas/mowers. Thanks so much!
Thanks, good luck!
You're crazy man. Most people build their sheds outside!

Lol probably just made for the video and will disassemble

Great point!
Love the shell top adidas, great throw back. And btw nice job on the framing.
Great vid, great angle on pre marking for cuts on the roof pitch
Thanks 👍
What’s the material list look like and what did this cost you?

Thank you for sharing the list of the materials or sizes.
That was awesome, so many great tips i would never figure out on my own. Thank you so much for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
great video lots to learn , what is the approx cost to make this ?
How did you cut the small wood pieces that make the slope for the rafter?
Nice video. But I liked the highspeed chatter the best!!(not only that, but at the chatter section you showed a valuable short cut)!!!
You made this look easy!! Saved video. Thanks!
Love the smurfy jawa voices. Ootini!
Great idea, thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Definitely go to a lumber yard, Lowe’s and home depot are terrible choices for your project
great vid. well done. was a bit slow, so I watched it at 2 x speed.
Actually, still didn't miss a thing

It’d be nice if you gave dimensions and description of what your doing and using
Which nailgun are you using? And what do you recommend at the moment?
Hitatchi framing nailer (now Hikoki). Still use it, never had any problems with it.
@@DieterSchneider thanks, I was definitely thinking about Hikoki. Or Milwaukee.
That was outstanding!!!
Very nicely constructed shed! Which Metabo nailer is that you are using? Any problems with it?
Thanks, it's a Hikoki framing nailer (34 degree). Never had any issues. Around 10 000 nails so far.
@@DieterSchneider Thank you Sir Appreciate the update/info.
You made a great looking shed, can you please give me the measurements of that shed. I would like to build the same in my backyard. Thank You
love how easy you made it look, would appreciate if you could tell us which size timber was used for the frame and decking
Probably can find it in his ebook. Link in description.
looks very nice. it is an inspiration for my bar shed! any chances to get the bulding plan? keep going for part 2!
I currently don't have complete plans, but I might make them available in the future.
I wonder how much it would cost to build that today with the price of timber.great video 👍

What size of wood you use for the roof and the walls thx
Please tell me what is the brand of that mini saw circular!
Makita

I am not to handy but you are amazing and I would like to know what was the measurements for the birds mouth templet
What type and size timber is being used here?
I love this u make it look Real simple👍
What was that last board you put in and why was it crooked in the frame? Thanks.

Dieter, what mitre saw is that? What model and how much does it cost?
Oh, use a small piece of wood to mark the birds mouth angle cuts
Do you have PDF for this shed? I would love to buy it. Thanks
Awesome! Do you have a materials list? What are the dimensions of the shed?
Most framers are not this precise... This is a luxury shed!
I subscribed immediately.
looks great bro what size nail gun u used
90mm
May I ask your height of the back wall vs. the front wall? Do you have a 4" pitch or greater?
Not enough information on how he attached the top beams. Can you clarify?

Can I ask which wood board sizes you're using? Both for the floor construction and wall frames?
I just don't understand how you measured the triangle template to cut the bird eye in the rafters???🧐
Are there plans or a list of lumber used...?
looks like 4x2 for studs and floor and 6x2 for rafters
I was gonna buy a plastic shed from Costco now I think I’ll build my own .... wonder what the cost is ... although wood is really expensive now
Very nice 👏👏👍
Thank you very much
Beautiful shed.
Thank you!
Put cross bracing inside the framing and you won't need to move them to the inside when you go to sheath it.
I notch cross bracing in the studs, so that is not a problem.
looks ;ike 1x6 floor cheaper than plywood?
Hey dude can you please explain how you made that birds mouth jig?
Is that a framing nail gun or finishing nail gun or Brad nail gun
