I love your idea of giving away something from your stash and remaining sock yarn from your project. Doing so eliminates waste and gives someone a chance to try different types of sock yarns. Great idea 👍🏻
Love the sweater you’re wearing and the one you’re working on. And the cozy comfort throw from the advent. On my I want to knit everything now! 😂 Thanks for sharing not only you knitting, but also your life and precious kiddo’s and Lucy.
Thanks for the new episode! Love seeing your home and kids as it brings back memories when my kids were small. Love that you had Kevin and Ray on. They make me laugh when they say you are the muscle behind Skein! What a great community you all have built!
I was so happy to see that you recorded again! I’ve missed your videos. I think you hold the crocheted yarn in your hand because you hold your hook like a pencil and not gripped in your hand like some people do. My mom crocheted that way too and made beautiful pieces. Glad to see you and your beautiful family again!
I’m primarily a knitter but when I crochet I hold the hook the same way I hold a knitting needle. You have inspired me to make a granny stripe blanket. Love it!
Welcome to the other side of the holidays. They are a joy, but so intense at the same time. Thanks for the vlogs, they really were a fun part of my holiday season. The kids are adorable and growing too fast. Hopefully, the dog will grow out of puppyhood as fast!
Yay happy to see you again! Miss the kiddo’s It was a joy to watch them. Thanks for sharing your family, father, sister , hubbies, and of course Lucy. I’m really liking your scrappy blanket. I have a new found love for all things scrappy. I think holding the project is correct. Happy New year.
Another lovely video in the home and life of Justine. LOVE it. Keep it up, we so look forward to seeing you and your darling family (which includes Lucy). 🥰
FYI ~ you can make lasagne without cooking the noodles first. I layer them straight from the box and then break one in half for the portion of casserole that never had noodles 😊. They bake just fine and no more handling slimey pasta!
To answer your question about crochet; I hold my fabric also. For me, it does help with tension. If you think about the way you hold your knitting needle in your right hand, it's muscle memory.
I enjoyed watching your family during the holidays and Lucy….. 🐕 Those bags at Skein in the front are gorgeous! I may have to do some shopping soon. What a great shop to work in!
I love watching your streams, hoping this year you have more time to do more episodes. Even though I know it’s a hectic life you have. Feels like sitting with a friend
This was a fun episode. I “babysit” my sisters one year old yorkie-poo and I can never knit unless he is in a “doggie” coma. I’m looking forward to seeing how your 2025 projects turn out. 🧶😊
Justine, thanks for helping my daughter choose yarn and a knitting pattern for me for Christmas. At least I think it was you - she couldn't remember your name. I love the gift but I broke my wrist on Christmas Eve, so am not knitting at the moment.
Love the socks you’ve been making. That sweater is going to be so cozy. It’s fun to catch up on what you’re working on. I want to play in the swap next years. I hope I don’t miss the sign up. I feel the same at the beginning of rows and centers of squares. It think is something that get better over time.
Happy New Year! When I crochet I hold the hook in my dominant hand, and the yarn and fabric in my non dominant hand. Whatever works for you. It will get easier with time. 😊
I loved your vlogmas! I was just thinking the other day that I hoped you would do some more episodes. I’m sure I’m not the only one who fell in love with your family!
Happy New Year Justine! Truly enjoyed your Vlogmas again this year! Its the Best! So nice to see Lucy and your family today! Thanks for sharing! All your projects are so pretty! Happy Knitting!
Loved your vlogmas❤️ one of my favourites in 2024 - can’t keep up with everybody but pick out a few I watch every day Happy knitting from Denmark Hanne
Loved watching your vlogmus. Also the Skein Yarn Shop is a beautiful store. You guys work so hard to make it that way. I live in Plymouth, MA. I have been to the store twice and it’s great. I wish I lived closer. I missed you both times. I hope to see you next time!
Love your projects. Definitely need to do the granny stripe with my swap plus add to my cozy memories. I’m going to start a sweater with NATR yarn. Hopefully I’ll get to come sit at the table and knit it with you all again soon!
I loved and appreciate the work you put into vlogmas. I crocheted for 16 years before I took up knitting. I knit like a crocheter. I too hold the fabric but I hold the hook in a "knife hold" me for both knitting and crochet I have the working yarn over my middle finger instead of my pointer. I also norwegian purl as I could never get the hand of bringing the yarn in front. It's interesting to watch other crochet and knit in different ways. I wonder how the ladies at skein scoop hold and tension yarn differently.
Hi Justine, Happy New Year, I have been crocheting most of my life and have only been knitting for about 5 Years I think your crocheting technique is fine I hold my project and yarn in my left hand and my hook only in my right. I also hold my crochet hook like a pencil hope this helps but you will find your rhythm Cheers Lisa 💕
Hi Justine, I just found your podcast. I'm in Rhode Island too, in the northern part:) I'd love to check out the yarn store you work at and go back & watch your vlogmas. Thanks for sharing!
It’s good to visit with you again! Your vlogmas was one of my favorites this past Christmas! 💕💕💕 ETA: Re: Crocheting-have you tried holding the hook like a knife instead of a pencil? I switched the way I hold my hook and found it much easier!
Ohhhhhh, the HHF tweedy/bliss is working up to be a beautiful fabric! The balloon dog progress keeper that you have on your granny stripe blanket is adorable! Are they available at Skein YS?
Tomorrow is my first quiet day at home. Kids went back today, but I had to work. Tomorrow I have lots of knitting planned on my quiet house!!! I was worried I missed the winner.... Subscribed and following on insta!!! Love watching your knits and your family ❤ How much of your mini does one stripe on your granny take??
No rules in crochet, as long as it feels comfortable you’re doing it right. You can hold the side when starting a row like you’re doing a corner instead of a row if that feels better. ❤
I love your idea of giving away something from your stash and remaining sock yarn from your project. Doing so eliminates waste and gives someone a chance to try different types of sock yarns. Great idea 👍🏻
Nothing better than a house to yourself after a long holiday season. I used to love those days. It so generous of you to share your life and family.
Love the sweater you’re wearing and the one you’re working on. And the cozy comfort throw from the advent. On my I want to knit everything now! 😂
Thanks for sharing not only you knitting, but also your life and precious kiddo’s and Lucy.

That's how I hold my yarn as a crocheter, love watching your podcast and also Skeins.

I love your Sheep Camp sweater, such a great color combo! I have been wondering if you ever finished your blanket using the David Bowie advent?

So happy to see you again. Missed your vlogs also. I already subscribed to this channel of course but I just went and followed your Instagram 😍😍
