I used to love going to that park when I was little. I've been with my family and my school when I was still in Primary school. I'm grown up now and to see the park the way it is now, brings back great memories. But it's still sad to see it abandoned like this.
Wow ... beautiful video, and mixed emotions as I took my children there many times over the years. Lots of good memories. Kinda melancholy to see it like that now ... and my kids are just about all grown up. Thanks for posting!
Watching this brought back a load of memories. I used to go here all the time when i was younger and remember it clearly. It is a shame to see it like this. I hadn't been past there for years until last year when I went to view a horse which was stabled at a yard right across from Loudoun Castle. Would love to explore it though :)
How sad. This looks like a place so many should still be able to visit. That the castle grounds went to such great lengths to keep the place alive. So sorry I won't be able to see it.
This closed down because a young boy who worked there died trying to fix a ride and the cost of the court case and the lack of visitors for a short while due to the publicity meant it wasn't economically viable to keep it going after 2010. A lot of the rides were sold off and those that were not worth much have essentially been left to rot. It is a shame though, I loved it here as a kid, especially seeing the castle itself. There is a planning application in to restore the castle, build houses and a hotel but it has been denied for now pending more information. Unfortunately, we can no longer access the grounds due to ownership and private property regulations but although the trees and such are overgrown, it is still physically accessible to those permitted.
I remember going here as a kid, I love not far from it, a 15 minute drive and I used to go here on my birthday a lot. I had the same birthday as the Lion mascot (19th july). Its so creepy to me to see it so still and getting taken over by nature
The Loudoun Castle Theme Park Air Recon opened in 1995, was purchased by Raymond Codona then sold to Henk Bembom's Parkware Ltd. Bembom in 2002 who dumped over £7m million into the ill-fated investment fiasco. On 15 July 2007, 18-year-old ride operator Mark Blackwood died from crush injuries after falling 80 feet from a rollercoaster he was pushing, which had gotten stuck. "No longer economically viable.", in September 2010 it was announced that the park had closed.
woo was my most waited for video of you guys so far...im surprised how high they parrot thingys go :o some really good shots did he not let you into where the black pearl n dodgems e.t.c. were located? thats the part i mostly want to see whats changed in just the weathers been crappy and never had time plus dont wanna get hassled by the guards
Absolutely spectacular footage! Did you get permission to do this? If not, is it illegal to do? This sort of thing has always interested me and I'd love to do it, maybe when I'm older or if I know it's legal and safe.
Well, actually I had been here many of times when I was a child and I can say there was plenty to do here. They had little trains that would take you to each end of the theme park, barbeques, animals to feed, amusements, stalls and brilliant rides. So technically it wasnt built a failure. It was a well known theme park and popular at the time. However, I feel as the years progressed the owner may have been aiming for a more younger audience as the rides became less thrilling and more baby-like.
brilliant filming of yet another spot just left ....For the life of me it has be totally puzzled What do the people there actually 'DO ' ? watch TV go to the pub and that seems to be it .Places are built and places are then failures ------------ I find it so sad and kind of depressing ......
Hi i just wanted to ask if you are flying the drones with iPhone or did you modify them to work with a better control as you seem to have a really good flying range?
It's a real shame to see all those rides sitting idle. They have a very rare Silverarrow coaster from Anton Schwarzkopf there and it is one of only three known to exist.
Thats my point ...closing it is not answer if as you say folk went and often . Now there it is no more and thus no more fun there There is the chance that health and safety were making thrilling rides difficult to maintain

It's weird bc I remember going on all these rides, I would go to loudoun castle and spend the entire day on those chairoplanes I loved them so much!

Drones seem to be working well, the aerial perspective adds a new dimension to the sites seeing their position in the landscape, Thanks.
Great footage, especially how you use the drones...absolutely awesome
Great stuff - a new era in abandoned urban exploration :)
Thanks for saying so we're really enjoying using the drone as well to capture these places
Drone's working out well. Great shots, like the opening and as always the audio.

Aww it's the lucozade space shot! I used to love going on that in southport
Hopefully it's been bought and used somewhere else now :)
+Abandoned Scotland I have looked everywhere but sadly I haven't found any information on where it's gone :(
yo that actually looks really cool, good luck with it!! sounds like its gonna be awesome!!
Beutiful quality thanks for sharing this video really loved it.

Wonderful shots. Drones for good, not evil.

Wow, your pilots are very good. I dont think they AR Drone 2.0 is that easy to fly. I will get mine in one week, i cant wait.
i likek the rollercoaster much haha ...sometimes i want to sit on one like this:D
That's a pretty detailed moon model. Cool! :)
Rusty and I are looking into getting a drone as well, I personally am nervous about flying it >.

It feels like yesterday that I was there.:(

It's certainly not all collapsed but there are definitely a lot of interesting places :)

Haha I was but it was too windy to do it properly, there's a POV of someone riding the coaster on UA-cam though from before it closed.
Yeah Dazza we looked in the walled area as well so keep your eyes peeled in a future commentary video ;)
Thanks, there will be plenty more drone videos to come :)
Yeah the wind was really carrying it at that point
You can get them from most major retailers, try amazon :)
Has Any one been lately, if so is the big tall tower called the barn stormer still there because i am wanting to climb it ! :~)
Yeah still there
brilliant filming of yet another spot just left ....For the life of me it has be totally puzzled What do the people there actually 'DO ' ? watch TV go to the pub and that seems to be it .Places are built and places are then failures ------------ I find it so sad and kind of depressing ......
Thanks I appreciate it :)

It’s so strange how i have such vidid memories of this place even though I would have only been 4/5 lmao
Oh my I remember going here as a kid nd my shoe came flying off on the swings 😂😂😂
Shannon Hill so did mine 😂
Grate stuff , the footage gat a little twitchy at the globe part but other than that it's perfect.
I read recently that Loudoun Castle was going to be restored and used as the center of a hotel. Any truth to that?
I've heard a few rumours Amy, that would be great though if they did restore it. It's a great location.
Haha you should look into buying one :)
It's a real shame to see all those rides sitting idle. They have a very rare Silverarrow coaster from Anton Schwarzkopf there and it is one of only three known to exist.
We're did u get your drone from??
how did you get permission to explore round the park?
*palmface*
Thats my point ...closing it is not answer if as you say folk went and often . Now there it is no more and thus no more fun there There is the chance that health and safety were making thrilling rides difficult to maintain
You'd think themeparks would always have a harder time over there in say Australia or the US. Better weather elsewhere for such things.
soo sad
Seemed to be full of neds and deers. No wonder it went out of business.
Omg
why is it shut
We were given a permission visit from the land owner and allowed to fly around :)
try hmv
Meh , it wasn't a real problem anyway. hope your doing well.
