We were truly blessed when our son died in a MVA. The mother of one of his friends asked for all of our son’s clothes. She made 3 quilts from them & also a pillow from the vest he was wearing. So I can “hug” him anytime
My grandma passed away 2 weeks ago. I am making pillowcases out of her shirts for her 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her 4 kids. It is a massive undertaking but I am hopeful that this will help us all find some comfort since she went from OK to gone in 3 weeks.
Very nice! We planted a tree in memory of our Son.
Yes! And family and friends get together once a year and have a party in his honor!
This cross is just beautiful!! My maiden name is Starr. When I lost my dad my niece had my sisters, brother and I each pick one our own favorite shirt we liked on Dad. With the shirts she made each of us a pillow in the shape of a “Star” and in the middle of the pillow she attached a smaller star pillow. The main pillow was to represent Dad and the small star in the middle to represent each of us with him. I treasure my little pillow and my precious niece and her talented little self.
@@debbiegarrett6342 Very Nice!!
Not exactly sure how it was done but at a funeral I attended of a friend of mine about a year ago at the cemetery each person was given a rose from the top of the coffin. Ordinary enough, what made this special is each and every rose had one of there favorite Bible verses attached. The book, chapter and verse number.
I'm so sorry about your friend. The roses with a different Bible verse attached is Such a beautiful idea.~
I love this idea! So much better than the piece of clothing hanging in the back of a closest, rarely seen.
Agreed!
This is a simple yet beautiful way to keep a little memento from someone we love close by. I’d love to see detailed plans on dimensions, etc. Thank you for this lovely idea!
Great idea. I wish did that with grandma's clothes or her quilts. I miss her so much. I'll spray her perfume just to smell her.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I love this. I just lost both of my parents 10 months apart. I hope my daughter and son in love can help me do this for Mom and Dad.
That would be so nice!
What a beautiful, thoughtful way to memorialize your loved one !!
I have a pillow made out of my grandfather’s shirt that I had bought him

I am over in the UK as Kari is aware so no where near you guys But I think I could really give this a try, my fiancé has some things like bedsheets that his mum used before she died, they are just put in a cupboard so maybe he’d let me do something with those, Great idea and beautifully done xx 💋
I have my grandmothers embroidered kitchen towels. I love them. Such great quality.
These are lovely. Have you seen the Victorian human hair keepsakes? They were very intricate designs made from the hair of the deceased person.
🌻
I make memory bears. I get the clothing of the deceased and make a teddy bear.
So do i
I also make memory bears. I get the clothing of the deceased and make the bear.
The best your the best
What did this guy do exactly for a living?
What measurement of the cross?
They are about 16"x11"
What did you do with the rest of the shirt?
@@KaritheMortician oh ok ty
I don't have anything that I made in memory of my most beloved father who will be gone three years on May 25th, 2019; but I do have the cross that was on his casket. I also went on angelgifts.com the October after he passed away, and I bought two angel stones. The first one is a serenity heart stone, and the second is a healing angel stone. I have these both stones, plus the cross that was on my dad's casket, to remember him by. It might not be the traditional way that someone else might memorialize my father per se, but those items are what I have to remember him. He was also cremated, so we still have his cremains. We haven't done anything with his cremains as of yet, and I am not too sure if we ever will do anything with his cremains.
@@KaritheMorticianI know. I live with my mom and she is in her late 70's. I am not expecting anything to happen to her for another 20 years or so hopefully (knock on wood), but you are right in saying I do have to make a plan for my dad's cremains in case something happens to me. A clergy member who I know also told me about seven years or so ago that I should write down what I want for my funeral. I never really put in any type of thought with that since I am still young (I am in my early 40's), and I am not financially able to pre-plan my funeral at the moment.
