I’m excited to share with you a technique that I’ve been experimenting with lately - the creation of a psychedelic vocal chop sequence. This is a sound that you may have heard in some of my recent tracks, and it’s a technique that can add a lot of depth and interest to your productions.
Before we dive into the specifics, I want to note that this technique does require some knowledge of music production and the use of plugins. However, I’ve included a detailed video tutorial to guide you through the process. So, let’s get started!
To create the vocal chop sequence, I started with a simple vocal sample that I chopped up into smaller pieces using Groove Agent. I then loaded the Infected Mushrooms Manipulator, which allowed me to manipulate the pitch and formant of each sample independently. This is a great way to create unique vocal sounds that are not possible with conventional pitch-shifting techniques.
Next, I added some reverb and delay using Eventide Crystals, which gave the vocal chops a sense of space and dimension. This effect is crucial in creating a psychedelic atmosphere, as it adds a dream-like quality to the sound.
Finally, I added my secret weapon - DMG Audio PitchFunk. This plugin is a must-have for any producer looking to create complex, evolving soundscapes. It offers a wide range of pitch-shifting, modulation, and filtering options that can transform any sound into something truly unique. I used PitchFunk to further manipulate the pitch of the vocal chops and to add some subtle modulation and filtering effects.
The end result is a complex, evolving sequence of psychedelic vocal chops that are perfect for adding interest and depth to any track. Whether you’re producing psytrance, techno, or any other genre of electronic music, this technique is a great way to push the boundaries of what’s possible with vocal samples.
In conclusion, I hope you found this tutorial helpful and inspiring. Remember, the key to creating unique and interesting sounds is experimentation and a willingness to try new things. So, don’t be afraid to get creative and push the limits of what’s possible with your music! And as always, keep producing and keep the psychedelic spirit alive.

Thank you so much for the in depth video.
Ever since one of my musician friends told me psytrance was considered to be like the jazz of edm music.
My interests got so spiked that now 3 months later, i'm 2 studio monitors and an audio interface deep 😂
I guess there's no way back. Once you start creating decent sounds it's so addictive and the hours fly by like crazy.

Man, it's true! We have those moments...where you're first, surprised, then attentive, then it comes together in your head, you know how it can get even better soon with some manipulation, and then....boom! You know your housemate hates you ;)

@@EClipChannel Maybe I ask too much but if you ever have time and the desire to recreat sound, would you consider it?
I really wanna do a banger track like this and the foundation would be this kick/bass

@@PsyWalks I know it might sound rough and crazy, but I recorded a full class regarding kick and bass. Psyenticif Mastercourse Kick & Bass. I did that as I have so many requests for Kick and Bass, and after I started recording, with a desire to explain everything, I ended up recording 7 hours of material. I wish it could be more simple, but it is not. Many things are going on, and just recreation 1 kick and bass section won’t help you much besides achieving something you set as a goal for yourself. Once you achieve this, and once you get that result, trust me you gonna move to the next track and another obsession will arrive. The best and in my opinion only way is to learn what is going on and how to get the results you want.
I am aware that what I wrote sounds like an advertisement, but I assure you that is not the case, every single word I wrote are my honest thoughts.
