Ok , me and my guy that ports a lot of saws watched this video and me personally if I was paying you to port my saw and you just took a Dremel or wut ever you use to put those little v shaped grooves in the lower transfer ports id be a pissed man,
Amazing how well it ran with "only" putting a few grooves in the neck of the cylinder. You two seriously think I tore the whole saw down to "only" do that?
Wow....!!! have been looking for the 1st. person to assist us all here on u-tube with a take down rebuild modify .. Just got mine for the cabin about a month ago , and like most of the owners we want this beast to unleash its full power opportunity .. Thank you , Thank you for the assistance .
Husqvarna is really on to something with the MK3 that saw is a beast I think we finally have a new top dog in the trim saw world it puts my 200t to shame
I still have my 335xpt T handle from early 2000's and my 540xp from about 2015 and I love them both. I never changed a thing on either one and never felt the need to do so...if you're semi-serious about cutting and processing wood, neither of these saws should be alone in the shed. Many guys buy these saws with the wrong idea of having them cover all the size spectrums of felling and cutting.
As far as the holes in that bar being over sized , it helps with oiling , two that bar fits other models the required those holes that size , that metal clip that came out it's an issue that Husqvarna is dealing with I bought that model saw and it locked up and destroyed the cylinder and everything inside the saw so keep that in mind
Nice runner Mr. Flagg sounds good too! You can put a little dab of Hylomar universal blue on the intake boot clip to secure it in place it’s good insurance I know of a couple that have come loose at max rpm and wrecked the saw makes a bad day for a builder! And If you ever do any machine work to the 540 iii cut the cylinder skirt about .010 more then the total you removed from the cylinder including the gasket and match the chamfer back, The cases have tapered dimples that won’t let the cylinder go down if this is not done. 👍🏼
My only pet peeve with the T540 Mark III or could be the .043 chain too, is when I threw a chain with it, it completely shredded the plastic where the clutch sits. Saw still functions fine, probably more cosmetic but you would think Husqvarna could come up with something a little better!
On the bright side that piece of plastic is not expensive. I'd order one or two and replace it soon. Without the "dust shield" in place ur gonna get a bunch of crud caked to the engine. Same thing happens on the 201 if it makes ya feel any better
They only run for half a day I use to switch out saws at lunch and then in the morning it would run good again the filters would get clogged up there so fine I don't know but they don't like the heat
I'm a Stihl guy who recently got my first ever husqvarna, the 540 XP Mark III (rear handle) and I love it except for that stupid chain tensioner mechanism built into the cover rather than the body.
The one I had was a piece of shit. It would not start hot and would always loosen the chain and chain cover nuts. I had the whole cover come off and the chain came off and cut my saw pants. Didn’t matter how tight I did the bolts or chain. I sent it back and got a 201

Finally husqvarna has a good t-handle
That one runs sweet👍🏻 good to see husky stepping it up with their top handles!

I like those plus size tensioner holes for when I'm in a hurry with zero patience
🤣🤣
Like a hotdog in a holiday! LOL

Speedcut nano? You can get 2511s with speedcut nano right out the box too
Sweet runner!
Nice work Rich ❤❤❤
My MK2 tensioner has the same problem and I thought it was defevtive. 🤧🤧🤧😪😪🤧
Happy and safe cutting 😊😊😊😊👍👍👍💪💪💪
big holes are for lubrication not only chain tentioner ;)
That's a HORNY TOAD! Nice job!
Makes sense Oregon..Jacob sells 325 mini nano from his sappy supplies store .he's in Oregon 😊
awesome video 😎what is this white thing that comes off ?
Made in Japan? Is it a rebadged RedMax? Husky owns RedMax/Zenoah.

Just found this channel. Awesome stuff. Do you do porting maps? I’ll have to explore and see if I can get some insight into your process
Good job!👍
You deserve a beer after that one! Haha. Saw runs great.
I was thinking the same thing after the third pull of Christmas. Poured myself a treat while the video was loading.
@@richardflagg3084 Haha yessir. Like when I ported a 500i got it all done and back together and had a piston circlip laying on the bench. 😂😅 Damn
🤌 can't wait to run this. I laughed out loud when I saw that saw apart for a second time.

It is pretty cheezy for a pro model saw.......
Awesome dude! Can I send you my T540's?
Love mine!
Do you know if this take the same muffler as the mk1/mk2?
What gasket maker are you using for your base gasket delete?
Why not remove the stainless piece that fell off of the intake?
Probably there for a good reason.
How do i semd you my mark 3 for porting and would you reccomend me trying to mod my mufflermyself
That’s an animal .
I have tons of chain and bars for stihl 201. Do you think a modded 201 is as good as the husky modded?

Xin giá về đến Việt Nam 🇻🇳
Payed 1000.00 with 16 inch bar extra on my 201t its was 900 something then tax so was 1100
Insaine for that 201t by theway . Insaine prices
Large holes for making goofy awkward outboard clutch/adjuster setup easier to install.
People love it, I am not one of those people.
Stange piston
Don’t ya just love doin the job twice and getin paid once.
