FINALLY! A video for beginners that don't have A CLUE on how to install tweeters!! I thought it was a lot more difficult so I was about to give up after watching a few other videos! When I saw THIS video, I got it!! Thanks so much for explaining everything step by step!!
Spursfan022000 , thank you for the kind words, very much appreciate it. Glad my video was helpful. I’m just learning too and I want to help others. Straight to the point with step by step instructions. I watch other videos that don’t explain clearly or they just start going off topic. Not here. Thanks again and Stay tuned for more videos. 👍
Exactly! I always figured it was a way you could run a tweeter off the door speaker, I just wasn't sure how. Great video for beginners, who know nothing about hooking up speakers !
As silly as these videos are... low production, not talking to the camera, not worried about camera angles and shake. just being in the view and watching you do everything is so helpful... I break all those plastic clips, and watching you simply pop them out is actually really helpful. lol... Thanks 3 years late!
What's up Hoody1147, your comment made me laugh. Lol, I do this all myself with no experience and no help. While I hold the phone to record in one hand I use my other hand to hold tools and do the work. It can get shaky at times, I know but I try to make these videos as simple as possible and straight to the point, hope you enjoy them. Those plastic clips are the worst lol, I always break them too. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it. Have a good day brother.

You’re welcome Axel. I make these videos to help people, I’m so happy this video helped you out. 👍 please stay tuned for more videos. I’m learning as I go and documenting it all.
Big thanks home boy. Great tutorial for us nobbazoids. Luckily my 97 GMC K2500 has a tweeder instal location and grill right on the door panel. Very convenient.
Have you ever thought about making a hole on the door panel for tweeters and using this method also? I’m thinking about doing this myself and hoping it works well
First you could have tapped into the wires before going into the door without having to remove the speaker. You should use a large piece of heat shrink to cover the capacitor. And the tweeters are mounted way to far from the woofer.
Piece of advice from a network engineer fir over 25 years, when running the cable do not cut cable prior to running. You end up wasting cable by doing so.
Grady, thank you. I try to take care of it. It only has 117,000 miles. It’s a 1999. I bought it 1 year ago with 109,000 miles. Previous owner kept it in garage. Original paint was white, I can tell from the purple paint that’s chipping off. Overall, good and clean with low mileage. Thank you again for the nice comment and for watching. I appreciate it. 👍
could i connect another tweeter to an already existing tweeter by just adding some wire like in the video?? instead of running it through the door speaker. i ordered custom speaker pods and decided to put two tweeters on each a-pillar but figured it’d be easier jus to run those directly from the old tweeter wires rather than removing the door panel
I think you can but it might not be the best way to do it. You may experience problems down the road. Let us know if you do it and if it works, Thank you.
How did you connect the speaker wire to the door speakers? I’m having trouble connecting the speaker wire to the positive/negative sides. Idk how to put them on, do they go on the same part the red clips do?
Take a double a.a battery and connect the red to positive and black to negative and if the speaker pushes outward then that's the correct way to wire them. If the speaker sucks inward the reverse the wires
Sorry for the late reply, Here is a link for a video that covers that. I hope it helps, let us know. Thanks Link: ua-cam.com/video/hscMuzfyxQ4/v-deo.html
Good information on how to wire. Does anyone have a video showing how they fed the wires from the dash or is it only cut scenes and talking about it? Yeah it maybe simple but I'm a very visual person, until I see it I'll trip on it.
Every car is going to have some kinks when running wires from anywhere always try to stick to using the rubber parts on the bottom of ur door and a friend to help pull and find the other side of a wire is ur best option in most cases
if the tweeters came with the capacitor couldnt i simply just tapp into the front door speaker right behind my aftermarket head unit? or does it it have to be specifically to the door panel speaker?
if the tweeters came with a crossover then no but if they dont have anything with them then yes you need bass blockers cause the will be burnt in a minute
That's a good idea. I will try to make that video soon. I'll let you know once I post it. Thank you for watching. i appreciate it. Have a good day Jose.
Hi. Might be a dumb question but my car has factory tweeters that are blown and I want to replace them with a better brand. Do i have to take the whole door off and do all of the stuff with the 2 in-door speakers or can i just connect the tweeter wires directly where the old tweeter was connected and skip everything extra?
You probably figured it out by now but if you didn't, just run it off of the old wires, if they worked for the old speaker chances are they'll work for the new speaker
Yes I think you can also do it with the rear speakers but this truck doesn’t have any rear speakers that’s the reason why I put the tweeters. There was no sound coming from the back.
if your going from sub to tweeter essentially daisy chaining the speaker (which you shouldn't do Its much better to go from your door speaker) your going to want the thickets capacitor you can find to try to transfer the most of everything but bass to the tweeter
I tried using wire connectors first but they kept breaking because they were old and brittle. I did use tape instead of going to get new wire connectors or like you said Male/Female connectors. I was being lazy, that would have been the proper way to do it. It still worked but you're right. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it, stay tuned for more videos. Thanks again Nick.

How are they too far from the woofer you want bass in the rear and miss and highs up front
He also changed the ohm rating of which he has no clue.
@@jeffreylynds7986I agree with you. How do you want tweeters and bass in the same section lol. I guess his style is different.

How did you connect the speaker wire to the door speakers? I’m having trouble connecting the speaker wire to the positive/negative sides. Idk how to put them on, do they go on the same part the red clips do?
You can either splice the connector before the red clips and add a new set for the tweeters for quick disconnect i guess

Yes you can.
if the tweeters came with the capacitor couldnt i simply just tapp into the front door speaker right behind my aftermarket head unit?
or does it it have to be specifically to the door panel speaker?
Great question! I’m wondering if this changes the resistance or not
Did u solder the tweeter wire on the speaker
No I didn’t. I just twisted them together and taped them with black electrical tape. They’re working fine. 👍 Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
Do I have to have an amplifier for the tweeters?
I didn’t put an amp on the tweeters and they work good. Let us know how you do your install, I want to learn other ways. Thanks 🙏
Are ur speakers conncted to a amp? Or radio
straight to his radio
Do you 100% need the bass blocker?
if the tweeters came with a crossover then no but if they dont have anything with them then yes you need bass blockers cause the will be burnt in a minute
I think you should be good if it also has a filter I believe
How many of these can I install? From one door speaker??
Did he just wrap the speaker wire around the terminal
Lol, Yes. It's still working to this day.

Hey man how did you mount the tweeter. Did you use some sort of double sided tape?
Double sided tape should work. I didn’t use anything lol, they’re just sitting there and luckily they don’t fall. 👍
Can I just crimp the wires together?
Yes you can Luke.
good video bro

Yes I think you can also do it with the rear speakers but this truck doesn’t have any rear speakers that’s the reason why I put the tweeters. There was no sound coming from the back.
What will happen if you dont install the capacitors?
risk of blowing out the tweeters from bass when they aren’t made for bass
What size capacitor? I have 2 12s kickers on 3000w amp ported box

What model tweeters are those?
I don’t remember, they were cheap. They’re not name brand.
Some really badass tweeters are soundstorm the TWT.5 s. They're about 15 bucks and bright as hell. Great tweeters and they've got a great look

Your doing way to much to add tweeters 😂😂😂😂
So 1 tweeter is close to one ear and the other is 4-5 times farther. 🤔🦻🏻
