But also, something interesting I noticed in another highlights video of this match- Pliskova was SMILING when serving at match point. How on earth she had the clarity to stay calm and smile at serving for the match in a wimbledon semi (against a top class opponent in such a close match) is beyond me. I'd be having a panic attack!
Being out of top 10 after nearly 5 years was really a wake up call for Pliskova. She said that it was a headline in her country so that motivated her a lot I guess. That wake up call came at the correct time 😁
Pliskova has always been a bit of a enigma...lots of talent, but motivation has always been a question. That said, she must have a great sense of humour: Her errant ball toss on match makes her smile..right into the game winning ace. There is so much "cool" there. I hope Pliskova and Barty both win...love them both. (an aside) the animal being tortured (screaming..grunting) during the Sabalenka-Pliskova match seemed to have gone away with the final point.

My ears are ringing just from watching the highlights. But watching the whole match was a torture. The WTA should realize that this is massively off-putting for fans and start acting once again (they promised to eliminate the screamers from the tour many years ago, but they didn't have the guts to do it).

Wat a match after a long time a 3 set thriller in a semi and to my surprise sabalenka is a much improved player and an athlete too who seems to have worked on her potential in the right direction...power games full entertainment from both of them

I hope she cross over the finishing line this time, unlike her US Open final showing where she led Kerber with a break in the deciding set. But Barty seems a hard nut to crack for Pliskova. Because Barty's records in final at biggest of tournaments is incredible. Pliakova really has to play sublime while firing her huge serves & aces more often than not.
