    How long should we cure to use it

    • @OakleafandOcotillo

      Hello! You do not have to cure glycerin soap as it is a hot process soap and a base is used that has already cured.
      If you are making cold process soap you should cure it for 4 weeks if you do not use the cold process oven process method. Please see my last video on no thermometer soap making for beginners. I also touched on the cold process oven process method in an earlier video I made, concerning heat process soap making. It’s a cold process method, but I end it with instructions on how to do cold process oven process (CPOP). The CPOP method is a great way of having the process of cold process and the early usability of heat process.

    where does a sandalwood smell come from?

    • @OakleafandOcotillo
      @OakleafandOcotillo  5 років тому +1

      Sandalwood. There are different species, some more expensive than others. This one was synthetic. The real stuff is far too expensive to use in soap. 😉

    Why my glycerine soap look like frozen ice ?

    • @OakleafandOcotillo
      @OakleafandOcotillo  3 роки тому

      If you mean the glycerin beads that form on the outside, then it is due to the humidity in your environment. Just put a little rubbing alcohol on a paper towel or clean rag and wipe it off. The more humid it is the more this will happen. It is purely aesthetic and does not effect the final bar.

    Confused is all the liquid glycerin?

    • @OakleafandOcotillo
      @OakleafandOcotillo  5 років тому

      Hi Jacob! The liquid is hot glycerin soap. You can buy it by the pound at a soap supply company or online, melt it down and make customized soap with it. I made this while keeping the soap around 120* F. I hope this helps.

      Thank you, Jude. Most of my videos are geared toward advanced soap Making. However, if you have a video suggestion I would be happy to hear it. Please see my video on glycerin swirls and heat transfer cold process soap making for a little more detail. Most of my videos are intended to inspire creativity from the viewer.
