I'm holding out for the rated R version. This was my most anticipated watch for the year... so a bit bummed I gotta wait as well as sucks to see everyone saying pretty much same thing, it's not very good
I thought the justice league was already pretty dumb. none of the characters seemed to do anything interesting and the central conflict just didn't connect. And then the finale is just stupid super-hero schlock. Watch-men is a pretty solid movie.
I think Snyder is brilliant... But he's not a film Director, or a writer. He's an *artist* . He makes feature length visual spectacles that deserve to be on display at art galleries, not at cinemas or in our homes.
This movie's aesthetic is mostly just warhammer but toned down to be less crazy or interesting. Nobody wants to go see the guy that paints LIKE Picasso.
But seriously though, I find it surprising that even his critics say he's some amazing visual artist or cinematographer when his entire shtick can be summed up to early 2000s gaming cgi desktop backgrounds edited with stock instagram filters. Is he unique? Yeah sure no other big time director does what he does, bold? I'd say so yes, uncompromising? Absolutely. But to say that there's any more to it than that feels ridiculous. Literally any director could get a dramatic stylised cgi background, turn the black levels right down then slap on n orange brown filter on the whole thing. They just don't.
Its a netflix deal thing. He gets to make his unadultrated over the top four hour epic later id he makes this edited teen reted garbage in time for the holdiays. Its the snyder cut debacle but manufactured. Its not gonna go well. He advertised this clearly hut people are not gonna nuy into it. Netflix is to blame. Im just gonna wait till the real edition comes out
Yes. Thex have allways been bad. Snyder has a talent for setting things in scene, which makes for a decent movie, if he works with a good screen writer. Suxker punch was fun, but crap. 300 was super fun, but pretty flat. Watchmen was good until you read the comic and realise, that the movie nailed the aesthetic, but completely misunderstood the story which made the original into a masterpiece. Snyder cut was not as bad as I suspected, but the story wanst all that either. Lets not talk about that zombie Heist movie.
It was ass. I’ve always said Zack is good as director, as a writer or creator he sucks. He only did 300, watchmen and man of steel well is because there were comics so he was just following what was drawn in comics. When it comes to originality, he sucks.
FUN FACT: a *huge* chunk of the *original* Justice League movie was, in fact, Snyder's. Joss didn't actually do that much. So, people obsessing over the "Snyder Cut" and dissing the original make me laugh haha

Apparently the extended cut which comes out in March is "a totally different movie" and "way better", so he tells us...
