I typically fast 20 hours with a 4 hour eating window. It has made a tremendous positive impact on my sleep patterns, weight, sense of calm energy, and lowered stress. All this post menopause when hormones aren’t at their best.
For years I fasted one day a week. Sometimes I have done longer fasts but I consider fasting normal. Thank you for talking about this. People fast for many different reasons and have different fasting patterns.
We have followed a carnovore diet, and trust me, once your body gets the correct nutrients there is no massive rush to keep topping up. 3 to 4 days for us before food comes into our heads.
I also fast daily for 18-to-20 hours. I've been doing it for the last 25 years and now I don't feel hungry until my eating window arrives. Very easy to do once your body gets used to it. The only problem is that as you grow older the metabolism does slow down more. I still do intermittent fasting but I have to pay attention to quantities more than I used to in my younger years.
I think you should state that people with medical conditions should consult their doctors before doing this. For example, Diabetics. Fasting can cause low blood sugar, a.k.a. hypoglycemia, can cause a rapid heart rate, sweating, shakiness, and other symptoms. If severe, it can induce weakness, seizures, or even death. People with Type 2 diabetes are at increased risk for hypoglycemia, especially if they go long periods without eating
I have discovered intermittent fasting quite recently, so I have been starting with a 2mad window of six hours. Two weeks in and I am starting to see the benefits - small but there - in that two weeks I have had a couple of accidental omad days because I have been out and doing. Indeed, the one thing that keeps me on it quite dedicatedly is going round supermarkets trying to source low sugar low carb foods...it was truly shocking. So I will be checking out your wife's channel...I love Chinese, I won't takeaway food, and I need as many tasty ways to "cook keto" as I can!
The longest fast was over Angus Barbieri's 382 days Fasting has even around for 1000s and 1000s of years its great for your body "Autophagy" is where its at 😎
It is definitely possible to go without food, I have literally went weeks without eating when I was on drugs and I did that for years! The only way someone could get me to eat was to withhold drugs. So 100% possible
I will say that now that I have been sober for 12 years, I have the body of a 90 year old and I'm sure that's from years of going without eating, drinking water and just doing drugs. I am suffering huge consequences!!
I would not normally comment under this account, but i actually feel a few days with minimal food intake is good for you. As a diabetic, i like two fast days (800 cals for those days)
I do think fasting is a good idea as long as you respect your body's individual needs. That is'nt so easy...i was using a little too much soy sauce, and i used to love marmite & parmesan . Those 3 delights have the highest amounts of msg i only recently found out. So i dug around and did an msg study. "Msg kills brain cells, wreaks havoc on the brain. Can cause fatigue, anxiety, depression, gastritis, & duodenal ulcers. (Msg is a simple salt of glutamic acid). Interestingly to me, in Vegemite (yeast extract) : msg is not added but contains naturally occuring glutamates, one of which is , guess what, msg. (Oh yippee ! ) My soy sauce go-to now is Kikkoman that has no ADDED msg, although it still naturally occurs in it . The advice was stick to just one tablespoon of soy sauce a day, as it has a powerful 900mg of sodium per tablespoon. (ref: 15/10/20. ). Other symptoms of msg can be headaches, sweating, itching, rashes, changes in blood pressure, stomach pain. Ooh er ! 👍🧡🌱🌿
I have been fasting for many years, I will usually eat what I want for 4-5 days and then fast for 2 days and I feel great health wise, well within my BMI scale for my height and fasting saves money too if that is an issue. Not surprising that humans have the ability to do this, in the days of being hunter gatherers, we would have experienced lean times of no food.
Abnormal or not, intermittent fasting ruined my health. I ignored the intolerance symptoms I was having. My thyroid shutdown with chronic fasting and my heart rate came down to 36 bpm. It took my body 5 years to recover from chronic fasting. Now I fast once a week max and monitor my symptoms. Always listen to your body. If you are cold, uncomfortable and don't feel great fasting chronically then you are hurting yourself - re-evaluate. One size never fits all.
But what does fasting really mean. I say this because some say they fast all day, but what they do is wake up early to eat like a pig and spend a normal busy day working until they 'break the fast'. In reality they only eat breakfast 99% of the time anyway, followed by dinner, but to say they are fasting sounds good. Also does a fast mean absolutely no food and drink ? Or is it just no food? Or is it no food but you drink calorific (if thats a word) drinks to keep your hunger at bay. I've seen it all mate. I usually eat when hungry, so it could be once a day or all day, shhhh nights too when everyone is sleeping, ha ha ha. Oh yes, I'm getting some good stuff from your wife's cooking and some tips. Very beautiful woman too, you must so proud of her.
I watch ur wife's channel. Her food always looks great. Just wish I could cut everything like she does..trying though lol..keep up the great cooking please ♡
I know it's healthy/normal. But I'm a slim guy, unable to gain weight no matter what/how much I eat. So it's not sth for me, I'd probably *_c.o.m.p.l.e.t.e.l.y_* fade into the shadow realm
Personally I think it’s an abominable idea, because I have enough trouble with my metabolism and hate pop, but have you tried drinking one of those mega diet sodas they serve in these fast food places these days, before during and after a meal. The artificial sweeteners start hormonal processes off that can lead to weight gain. Mind you they can also lead to diabetes 🤷
@@FC-PeakVersatility 1. No I don't live in the USA thank god. But when I go to MCD or the likes then I do order the largest options - bc I'm a stingy Dutchman and so I want the most value for my euro's 2. While I myself do eat & drink everything I order till the last crumb and drop (bc again, I'm Dutch, so I don't throw away something I even paid half a euro-cent for), I believe there's no law in the USA obliging you to order the mega sizes, nor to eat/drink it all after you (perhaps accidentally?) ordered it
@@kloassie 🤣 a man after my own heart. I actually never eat in McD’s for the simple reason I I don’t eat half the ingredients and, the half it do, I can put together at home for a far better price. And even at home a litre of pop will last me well over a year, never mind till the end of dinner 🙄 The point of the mega low cal drink was to undo your body’s natural preference for skin and bones and encourage it to go into the business of fat creation that all those crumbs are having not one iota of effect upon 😉 check out Robert Lustig on low calorie drinks and other sugars as to how/why it does. Whilst McD’s drinks may well be large, the world must be tiny. The Netherlands is one of a very small handful of ‘foreign’ countries I visited as a child, spending a whole summer there touring. It’s the one I still have fond memories of. As an adult I’ve never had a passport so ventured forth on no further intrepid adventures to overwrite those recollections.
I cannot find on goodle the site. needs expert advice. when i do get on instead of going to the rest of the site i am then directed to the utube channel of many others that i am not interested in. sorry ill so explanation not good. Wow was nice thou
Seriously? Fasting is a good thing but days??? No. Intermittent fasting is better for you. If JD didn't eat food I have to question if it was drug related.
I don’t do drugs, not even painkillers but I do fast for days at a time. It gives oodles of energy an can be an amazing painkiller to boot. It is is an ancient healing strategy used to not only reduce inflammation but to help with cellular repair too

As I am a carnivore, I eat usually on a regular basis once a day. I eat and get full and don't eat again until I'm hungry
💯
It all depends on your metabolism, sometimes I go a day without food as I'm not hungry, but drinking tea with honey gives me the energy needed.
I have enjoyed your wife's channel! I have tried a couple of recipes and they turned out great!! Thank you!!👍👍👏👏🙏🙏💯
Intermittent fasting is excellent for health! Yet another reason I love you and your wife!!
For years I fasted one day a week. Sometimes I have done longer fasts but I consider fasting normal. Thank you for talking about this. People fast for many different reasons and have different fasting patterns.
I go days without food, but I’m autistic and have to crave something in order to be able to eat. Smelling food helps sometimes, but not always.

And wicked channel and food looks amazing and with myself being a chef it's great to pickup tip's
It's definitely healthier than overeating. Obesity is becoming a major health problem.

Fasting is completely normal, and is done for several reasons, be they ethical, religious, or health-related.
I've fasted for 4days and felt great 👍
72 hour fast helped my gut problems
The longest fast was over Angus Barbieri's 382 days

Hubby and I often fast for 24 hours, but not intentionally, it has simply become too expensive to afford food everyday
I would not normally comment under this account, but i actually feel a few days with minimal food intake is good for you. As a diabetic, i like two fast days (800 cals for those days)
Days without food. before I finish listening. I too go days without food
You can survive without food, but you can't survive without water
Highly stressful situations can stop you eating for day's

A fast is OK if done for the right reasons. 21 days Jodi Larratt vids very good.
I have the potato one. fat not hot enough. But what i made was deliouse. ended up with fat from the dish. Trying again.

3weeks without food, 3 days without water, that’s what I was told as a kid. Wether that’s true?…….
I can afford to eat once a day every day is that fasting?I drink a lot of water to fill me up.
I watch ur wife's channel. Her food always looks great. Just wish I could cut everything like she does..trying though lol..keep up the great cooking please ♡
Maybe he has to have a look for a particular part in his movies?
Her food always looks great!! I wish I could cook better lol
But I drink lots of water
