As a Scrum Master: If a sprint item is blocked because of external factors or because someone else(outside your Scrum Team) isn't ready with what your dev team member needs to work on, how will you represent that on the board and in reports? You need to indicate that it is not your team's fault. Something else beyond your control broke and your team should not be blamed for that.. As a Project Manager: How will you present the status of the projects and modules that you are working on, to the higher leadership? They will not look into the details and graphs which your scrum team works with, like backlogs, velocity, burndown, etc, nor Project management reports like EVMs, Gannt charts, etc. Leadership will not attend demo meetings; they just need status updates and are not interested in these regular graphics.
Here are some views and we can do conversation like the above also. 1. External Dependencies are going to be regular issues specially when you work in complex environment. First the team needs to identify them, second they create buy in from the provider team to take care of dependencies, third you track them as per agreement. also you can show as Blocked Item (May be by adding red sticky to it if on board ) and have clear reference of what is blocked. 2. On PM space, it is all about setting up the communication plan, we need to understand stakeholder needs and come with what is good enough for them, so you ask what format will be good enough, you may propose some , like milestone review or say burndown chart and ask how can we present information to them
I just cracked up when she said she did not know what gives you pleasure if the interviewer was asking her personally or professionally. Poor lady. God bless her.

I joined a new project and the team is assigning SP values in this way. They take Dev estimates separately (say 5) and QA estimates separately (say 3). Now, they assign the story with 8 SP value. Similarly with other stories too, and thus come up with good number of velocity every sprint. Does it seem fine? How can it be corrected without impacting the velocity? Please help.
my view the correction will impact velocity. The risk as you can also see here is we are strengthening the functional boundaries between QA and Dev. you may ask can QA achieve 3 points of work if dev has not done their 5 and reverse is also true so, i hope the work only gets done when both of them do it. The idea is we compare based on overall size.

In my view it depend on organization you work in, in general Scrum Master can facilitate the requirement discussions so all stakeholders remains creative during the process. So facilitation and coordination of the process.

Hi Saket, I am preparing for PMP for couple of month, now i have started taking practice test. I have tried different practice test from different resources like simplearn, TIA, Tridib (Udemy), Ray (Udemy) etc. Now i am scoring avg 75%-80%, is it enough for real exam? I am planning to take test next week
I am not sure about the quality of tests but in general, if the test covers PMI's Exam Content Outline topics (you can cross check yourself by reading PMI ECO) than i think you are good to go for final exam.

Why do we use Fibonacci series for estimation and not any other value?
You can use any non-liner scale, usually Fibonacci works well , the idea is when the size gets bigger that gap between two sizes starts increasing.
