so happy someone else loves this series as much as i do, and i totally agree with everything you said! i adored these books, and the clarice bean books as well, and YES the interactivity is amazing!!! you got everything so spot on about why i love it so much, so i won't just repeat everything you said in the video. the exaggerated 1970s rich american town thing is so fun and i would absolutely die for every character, especially clancy and hitch, both of their friendships with ruby are so well developed imo.
Oh man the bubblegum scent on the inside cover of the third book...I think my Ruby Redfort books went to the charity shop when I cleared my room out and it wouldn't smell anymore anyway but like...NOSTALGIA TYLB was my favourite - I reread it so much which is odd considering i had pretty severe thalassophobia. Clancy kinnie moment I've been revisiting The Worst Witch lately because you were talking about rereading RR and I was like hey I remember something I was obsessed with as a kid...that shit really formed my personality and my love for all things spooky and witchy. And gay. That witch school was held together by four lesbian teachers and duct tape (and Miss Hardbroom...goth unsettling stern teacher...unsurprisingly one of my most formative childhood crushes and I am still in love with her) and the main character was deeply autistic-coded. Man I love that series...yay for childhood nostalgia!
Mine actually does still smell like bubblegum! Not as strongly, but it's very much there! Love that my own rambling has gotten you onto that nostalgia train, especially when you can look back at a childhood favourite and go "ah yes, this is why I am the way that I am" hehe
OMG so glad to find that I am not alone in the love for this series. I started reading it when I was 13 and I was also rlly into gravity falls so after so many codes there I was thrilled to see the ceasar cypher in another context. I FINALLY FINISHED THE ENTIRE SERIES. At 18. And it's amaizing I was not expecting this from a book my cousin got me as a birthday present but I thanked her so much afterwards. HITCH is epic and my dude went through it in the last book (well the entire series actually, I mean he starts off recovering from a gun shot for crying out loud) CLANCY i would die for him. LB respect, abit afraid of her but i definatly admire and respect her. If there is one thing i truly have to praise this book series for is THE CODES on each books AND how much you unintentionally learn from these books about certain topics. Because of the care put into it. It elevetes these books alot and it's what helps us connect to Ruby and trust her as a capable agent (mind wise) for example in the last book the code was super complicated and I didn't get it. Hopefully once I re-read it i can get a better understanding of it, but Ruby could solve it and I love her for it. It's like a Jack amd Annie for young teenagers/kids and it's incredible. The villans were so refershing to read because of how evil they were, like just ruthless, smart, evil to the bone and unhinged. With so many villans being given redemtion arcs these days I was just glad to read that they fall of buildings and die and not having to be forced to feel sympathy for the count. Ofc I dound Ruby kinda annoying and iverly cocky so Clancy is definatly my favorite by a mile, BUT she does win me over after book four and I startto see her charm and really get the feeling that she is learning and growing as well. But her arogance adds to the fact that she is a smart 13 year old so you know that's Some Writer (; Anyway Clancy is the best and Hitch deserves a vaccacion for like months This is all a veey long winded way of saying I love this book series, and I'm glad you enjoy it too❤
Late response I know, but SAME SAME SAME! These books are full of such attention to detail and care that I think it's impossible to not get sucked into the world. And a very good point about it having villains who just get what they deserve - so satisfying to have them just be evil and have done with it!
This is a great idea for a UA-cam video especially considering I'm not reading anything new (for leisure at least lol). I would love to talk about my childhood favorites!
THANKYOU for making this video and letting me re-live my favourite childhood series ever!! Makes me want to go back and reread all six books now hehehe :))
My favorite childhood series would be Geronimo Stilton by Elizabetha Dami and of course The Naughtiest Girl by Enid Blyton. Can't wait to watch this btw!
I loved Enid Blyton when I was younger! For me it was Malory Towers and The Faraway Tree, but all her stories have that wonderful childhood wistfulness to them!
Yep the third book sounds similar to Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex - in which the main character faces mental health issues after years of adventuring
THANK YOU FOR THIS IM SO STARVED FOR RUBY REDFORT CONTENT
Very happy to provide! So glad you enjoyed the video!

I specifically kept a hairstyle like Ruby, because I hoped that if thered be a movie, I'd be casted as her😭😭
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD

So glad you enjoyed it! Absolutely, go give them a reread - it's so worth it!
Yay you have convinced me to pick this up 😂😂
finally someone I can relate with!!!
My favorite childhood series would be Geronimo Stilton by Elizabetha Dami and of course The Naughtiest Girl by Enid Blyton. Can't wait to watch this btw!

Okay this is starting to sound a lot like Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
damn guess i have to reread the books now. nothing i can do about it i guess.
My agenda was successful! Hope you still find them enjoyable if you do return to them!
tbh i found ruby kind of annoying, even as a kid. my favorite was definitely clancy.
Clancy is fantastic! I do adore Ruby, but Clancy is severely underrated within the books - he's the best!
