0.867" is remarkably close to 22mm. If that is a European instrument it is quite possible that all the sizes were originally metric.
I was going to suggest mild heat (maybe 200-300F, below soldering temperature) as a possible way to help get the stuck valve apart. The heat will expand the outer tube, and maybe help break the gunk loose between it and the inner tube. If there isn't too much heat transfer into the inner tube from the outer, you can get some differential expansion and it might come apart easily. This works really well on pipe and thick pieces of metal, but I've never tried it with thin tubing. You may or may not be able to heat the outside up enough for expansion without also heating up and expanding the inside tube.
Our man sure "does not" like conjunctions 😁, but he does REALLY know his way around repairs! I'm sort of a hobbyist level technician - band director, rural school. I do the bulk of maintenance and repairs on my student's instruments, only send the complicated ones to the shop, or ones I can't find a solution for myself. I learn a lot from your channel and videos!
That is funny that you noticed my lack of conjunctions. The reason I don't use a lot of conjunctions is because I have a lot of viewers who do not speak English as their first language. It is easier to understand someone who doesn't use a lot of conjunctions.

I did not get into this in the video but the last few months have been very busy; mostly at home. My wife is expecting and she needs a lot more help watching the kids.

Thanks for putting out such informative videos and many of us truly appreciate your talent and the knowledge that you share with us it helps save us some money and give us a better insight into proper instrument repair which is a vast art which requires a lot of knowledge of different things from straightening metal to soldering there's a lot to know

Yes, I have done that a few times. I think that some of these slides are too far gone to do that though.
