I wish people would stop calling Ozempic a miracle drug for loosing weight. It should be illegal for individuals with no diabetes diagnosis to be able to aquire that medication.
I'm a type 2 diabetic. I had to wait 3 weeks to get my meds after i'd been on it for several months, and step my dosage back up after being without it. The shortages are real. It's so stupid that this is being handed out to people just because they can buy it, and not prioritizing patients who actually need it.
But aren’t you on it because you didn’t diet and exercise? Are you naturally obese? Why are you more entitled to it because your situation is more out of control?
It's terribly unfair that people who don't have diabetes or are dangerously overweight are taking this. I think they are saying the facial aging side effect to appeal to these who are using it when they don't need it to stop using it. It's a shame that people cannot simply be told that there are people who truly need this med to survive, please don't take it when you don't really need it.... There's a shortage .. instead, they have to appeal to their vanity and tell them that they will look older.
@@strangertobluewater some patients have hormonal disorders, autoimmune issues, are on medications that cause weight gain... Many are overweight through no fault of their own.
I used to work for a pharmacy for the last 15 months, and when I tell you, the number of people calling about Ozempic and Mounjaro was insane. It was to the point where the pharmacy that I worked for would only process the prescription if it was paid by insurance and you had a type 2 diabetes diagnostic from your doctor.
I am on ozempic, I am a type 2 diabetic. It has brought my A1c from an 11 to a 6. I also went from 314 lbs to 233. . Ozempic is expensive for a months supply it’s 1000. My insurance pays most I pay 25.00. My insurance company sent out letters letting their customers know they won’t cover the cost anymore unless they have a type 2 diabetic diagnosis. I have had a hard time getting the prescription in the last 6 months. Yes I’ve noticed my face changed but I’m 55 and have lost almost 100 lbs. I assumed my face would look different. Not a big deal.
I was on ozempic and I'm REALLY hoping I can get back on it soon. I'm also Type 2, due to genetics + a health issue, and was unable to get it because of this being the new "diet fad". I'm going to try my hand at getting it again this year because having to jump around on multiple medications to find something that worked like ozempic did has been a literal nightmare.
And I thought the private script in Australia that they can import for $3550 was too much, its less than $10 on pbs, but its out everywhere, Im type 2 diabetic too, Dr wants to put me on it :( Ae you in the US? Im in Australia
I recently asked my new endocrinologist if she'd prescribe it for me. I got a hard HELL NO. Her reason..I actually had 3 attacks of pancreatitis before my doctors finally got a good combination of medications for me.
I am also a type 2 diabetic. It is not always about excessive weight. Diabetes can also be genetic. Ozempic has helped me greatly, and I do believe that it should be prioritized for ppl who could go into diabetic shock or worse without it. Treat each other with love and kindness, everyone. 💙💙
Diabetic shock is a type 1 issue, if youre not producing the insulin to keep Dka from happening anymore then youve become a type 1. They dont prescribe ozempic to type 1s because their problem isnt insulin resistance, their problem is no insulin production.
I've been in Ozempic on and off (due to shortages) for 2yrs and fortunately the only facial change I've noticed is less chins and slightly smaller cheeks Edit: the gastro issues with it are no joke! I carry Pepto with me everywhere
The stomach issues are just awful. I have them too. I don’t understand why anyone would put themselves through it when their life doesn’t depend on that medication. There are so many other options out there. I should know. Before my diagnosis I tried all of them and was looking into surgery so I Know the options are out there.
@@aquariusrising7019 Yes. I’m on metformin as well. Much worse. My experience has been that it’ll be ok for a few days and then it feels like cramps so bad you double over. With metformin diarrhea is very common but Ozempic almost mimics irritable bowel syndrome. So you have diarrhea for days, then you’re ok, and then you’re constipated for days. I’m currently on the 4th day of a bout with constipation and it’s just miserable. No energy. Bloated. Feel fatigued. I haven’t left my couch and I had tons of plans today. We’re in a freeze so I was planning on really getting my house fully unpacked and organized. Instead I’m cramping and feeling like garbage. And the nausea is almost daily. I carry zofran with me everywhere and my friends keep some on hand in case I’m over there and run out. It’s absolutely awful. As a diabetic, I choose to accept the side effects. As a former morbidly obese woman (was 298 lbs and gaining) who looked into every option out there, I would not willingly use Ozempic for cosmetic weight loss, that’s officially what’s it’s called when you don’t have a diabetes diagnosis.
I've noticed a lot of bariatric patients have this sunken face look to them I've coined as bariatric face . My sister had it but her skin tightened up after a bit. Seems to be just fast weight loss that does it
I take Ozempic for my diabetes, and I haven't been able to get it. I need it to stay off insulin, and people using it for strictly for weight loss really frustrates me
A friend was using victoza for weight loss 10 years ago and he gave me a syringe. I tried it for 3 days and I couldn’t do it anymore. The feeling of much prolonged fullness was very unpleasant and also it was causing me to experience palpitations frequently, especially laying down. I gave it back and decided to lose weight through healthy eating and exercise. I was able to lose 60 lbs 😊
The first 2 dose levels are hell, the 3rd, the maintenence dose is a bit better, and pills are less traumatic, if those effects disappear or become less traumatic, welcome. And yeah, make your mind it's a lifetime treatment.
If you hate the side effects there are TOOONS of diabetes meds, seriously, tell your provider to change you! Medicine shouldn't be a nightmare !! Literally or not. I'm a doctor, don't be afraid, YOU are the patient. You are the only one feeling the awful side effects your doctor's only looks at your glucose :(

@@kite6864 I lost 20 lbs by walking and intermittent fasting. No loose skin anywhere at all. IF causes autophagy and eats all the unwanted cells/extra skin.
It felt like chemo side effects for the first couple of months for me. I could not eat much, vomiting, diarrhea, and constantly nauseated. However, once I got through that, the side effects have seemed to subside. I would not do that for weight loss, but I can understand why ppl would. It was awful at the beginning.
@@brittcherie2850 zofran helps a lot for the nausea!! That's what i took at the beginning a lot. IMO, almost anything is better than being overweight. It's worth it if you push through :)
I’m carry zofran at all times due to the nausea. For treating my diabetes and regaining my life, completely worth every second of it. But if I were doing it simple to lose weight there’s no way in hell I’d volunteer for the nausea and stomach pains and constipation/diarrhea… nope. It’s insane.
I use ozempic for a medical condition that makes me obese and prevents me from losing weight. So far I have gradually lost almost +80 pounds and my body has been gradually adjusting to the weight loss. From what I understand, the face effect must be one similar to that suffered by patients who have undergone bariatric surgery and lose many pounds quickly and must be operated to reduce/eliminate excess skin, in this case the patient does not recognizes his features/new figure after losing weight to those he had before using the injection. For this reason, we patients who are undergoing weight loss are monitored not only to know that everything regarding health and weight loss is going well, but also that our emotional and mental health is also correctly processing this difficult process because otherwise it exists. a high percentage that returns the patient to the initial point of obesity or even worse.
I've lost 45kg with ozempic after being unable to lose weight my whole life due to gut issues. I've come from being badly overweight to be somewhat overweight. I don't give a shit if it makes me look older, it has probably helped to save my life.
I’m happy that it worked so well for you! 🎉 Its a pity that some assholes don’t understand that the formula of diet+exercise=weight loss does not hold true for everybody. Best wishes
@@beatrizhauch9128 Sadly it's so hard to understand for people that don't have health problems affecting it. Personally most of my gut bacteria died when I was a baby during a really bad stomach infection, so my gut simply doesn't work. Ozempic fixed it and made my hormones work properly again after the bactery loss destroyed it. Really been a miracle medicine for me.
I have a friend who has been overweight for her whole life. She started with Wegovy in 2021 and then Mounjaro. She has lost 103 pounds. This is life changing for so many people.
I'm type 2. It's a pain trying to get my prescription filled, I've had to miss doses because the pharmacy keeps running out. My doctor finally started prescribing me enough for 3 months at a time. That helps.
I'm on semiglutide for PCOS treatment. It's working with my hirsutism along with electrolysis. I've been doing electrolysis weekly since I was 24 and finally seeing drastic results since last year. I'm not diabetic but I was prediabetic it helps with that too.
Type 2 here. Ozempic 1+ year. Lost weight. A1C 6.2 twice, highest I’ve had was 8 a few years ago. Ozempic is scarce as hens teeth in this neck of the woods. When I first started using it I looked up patient feedback online. One guy said he changed from abdomen injection to thigh and had less problems so I always inject upper thigh fat, alternating each week. A few mornings I’ve had very mild nausea and no big problem, but then I never had morning sickness while pregnant. Hope local pharmacies will give priority to diabetics here, too.
I have a chronic gastrointestinal illness that causes nausea. The thought people are willingly taking this to purposely feel sick to be thin baffles me :( I'd love to feel hungry again!
I’m taking Ozempic it’s been 1 year , and I have lost 25 kilos. My face looks skinny with jawline. I can’t explain how thankful I am. I didn’t face any side effects till now, so I’m continuing Ozempic.
@@suzanrahhal4864 Well 1st week I felt like vomiting and couldn’t eat anything. 1st week will be very hard for the beginners. It’s important to know: don’t workout 1st week when you are using it . 2nd week I was feeling normal. It’s been now 13 months i am using Ozempic . I have lost enough weight, now I’m just maintaining my weight with healthy diet & workout . So far I’m fine and thankful.
I’m a type 2 diabetic who had already lost about 35 pounds over a 2 year period (went from 325 to 290) before my Dr put me on Ozimpic. That was about 2 years ago and I’ve been on Ozimpic ever since, so about 2 years. I take it once a week and for the first couple days after the injection I just don’t have nearly as many food cravings. In the first year taking it I continued to lose weight at a little faster pace and lost another 30 pounds (290 to 260). Then I started lifting weights and over the last year I’ve gained 15 pounds and am at 275 but probably look more like I’m 240 or so as I have gained a lot of muscle mass. For me it’s a win and I’m thankful my Dr. Prescribed it. However despite my weight loss my blood sugar and A1C have continued to get worse over the years despite losing 60+ pounds of fat. Use to my blood sugar only got extremely elevated if I had something really bad like a soda and a candy bar. Now it gets bad if I eat ANY carbs. Type 2 Diabetes is a struggle for real. If your pre diabetic take it seriously. Most days after any carbs my vision gets incredibly blurry which is a symptom of high blood sugar most people don’t know about and it sucks. Imagine living most of your life with very blurred vision that can’t be corrected.
Dr Youn… you are so sincere with all your advice to the public that you are easily the most selfless holistic surgeon out there and one the public are really blessed to have.
When my weight dropped dramatically in a short period of time due to illness, I felt I looked older for a time. I think this is just a side effect of rapid weight loss. Slow and steady!
I take mounjaro now. I took ozempic for a while but the side effects were unbearable. Constantly nauseous no matter what I did and I was always depressed. The constipation was also a lot to bear. It worked though for the weight loss and was fast but it was affecting how I lived my life
My doctor just recently talked to me about taking Wegovy to help me lose weight in an effort to help lower my bp. I'm glad Google listened to our conversation and referred this video.🤣
It did this to me in 3 months! It isn’t worth it because I only lost 10 pounds and I can do that on my own without the side effects. My hair also thinned out way more and bad constipation. The lower part of my face is dropping.
i’ve been on Ozempic for several months. i’m type 1 diabetic (for 50 years). I initially lost 10 lbs but have stayed same weight ever since, i need to lose about 40 lbs. i’m on an insulin pump and the Ozempic is really helping my blood sugars. xx
Sometimes the nausea, vomiting, and GI issues from Ozempic can land people in the hospital for dehydration and super abnormal electrolytes. As a nurse, I was shookeh at their labs. Never seen a potassium that high.
To be honest I actually think that I could benefit from it. It could help me more than the medication I am on because I have PCOS and Hyperinsulinemia without insulin resistance and I am obese with high risk of Diabetes
You should ask your doctor when you go next, I have PCOS and insulin resistance and it worked pretty well for me. But it raises insulin levels during treatment so you’ll probably need to be monitored closely if that’s the case
I have PCOS but I have insulin resistance and that’s why I’m on it and have seen a huge difference in the way I feel and in my weight. I’m on metformin too but the combo works better for me that metformin alone.
Ozempic is AMAZING. I’m glad there’s a limit on who it’s prescribed to now (at least in my area) because for a while I had to worry about whether there would be enough supply of my medicine. I have PCOS and insulin resistance so I have to take ozempic to control my insulin since I can’t on my own. It helps keep the weight in check for sure.
i was wondering what ozempic was because a couple months ago i was in the er and this girl arrived on a stretcher and i could hear everything because she was "my neighbor" and she had taken her mom's ozempic (to hurt herself) and she was throwing up, she took 3 doses. This poor kid, the doctor was so rude with her he was asking "why did you take that, why would you want to hurt yourself ? you seem to like being in the hospital (it was her 3rd time that week) and he was very condescending it felt like he thhought she was just a brat in need of attention...so wrong.
She belongs on a 72 hour hold if she’s trying to hurt herself, not taking up the doctor’s time, 3x a week. She does sound like a brat. I hope she learns her lesson with the help of a therapist and psych meds.
I had to get on Trulicity and it sucks. Ozempic works so much better for my type 2 diabetes. Also I lost weight originally getting on Ozempic but it stopped after being on the medication for a yr. So if you don’t truly change your eating habits, you will gain the weight back. Ozempic has my A1c at 5.9. Hopefully it stays low on Trulicity.
I work with a few people who have used ozempic recently and a few that have done some rapid weight loss with fad or super restrictive diets. They all look so gaunt in the face. I think that just comes with losing weight too fast. One of the coworkers lost 60lbs in 2 months of ozempic. That is insane! It must be incredibly hard on the skin to keep up with it.
I've been on Ozempic for 6 months..I have been a type 2 diabetic for 13 years, my A1c usually fluctuates, plus the doctor said if I lose weight, I can get off some of the medications I am on. I have loss any weight in 6 months, and I take my Ozempic every Friday night. I'm an ESL teacher, so im constantly walking around the classroom and I work in Manhattan, NYC...always walking..no side effects except constant burps that smell bad...
thank you thank you thank you for stating this. I work as a pharmacy tech and we are having people lose their sh*t at us because of the shortage. These need to be reserved only for diabetic patients. I lost 100 lbs naturally from diet and exercise. Theres not much information about the possible dangerous side effects from taking this. It needs to stop being pushed by ads and doctors for $$$. Nothing replaces good diet and exercise - I promise you!
Thanks for debunking the ozwmpic face. The rest of symptoms, are for real. As you proven, Weigh loss with these meds are a subsequent of no eating, if face looks age-liking its because dehydration, because from my experience, I didn't drink any fluid for nearly a week when I started it. When I forced myself to drink despite vomiting it, my face came back to its regular tone, rehydrated. And there are more than just GI effects, thiroides can get affected, if kidney and liver had some issues, also impacts their work but, as you clearly said, it all depends to a individual level. The lack of ozempic in pharmacies due to people who's buying it just for losing weight when they have not diabetes and cardiovascular risk, better ask a professional, and endocrinologist, as it really affects all. Since October, I have lost over 10% of my body weight, lack of ozempic made my family doctor to change the injections to daily pills, and curiously, most GI effects have disappeared, so I feel less sick eating and drinking (just water and tea) but also weight loss has slowed to a healthier pace, it was sick losing over 3 pounds a week (it happened while pregnant first 3 months for complete crazy diabetes) but well... It's been since December with the pills, not telling name (we know why, some patients need the meds and getting even the pills is difficult) and next February 28th have endocrinologist check up. If you want, I'll update you. Honestly, you are being clear, nice someone also reminds others not to take it for weight loss without chronic illnesses and a serious specialist to prescribe and check its effects, pancreatitis is for real, I know 2 users (one of them, non diabetic, a private doctor prescribed because was paid) who are still in the hospital with it. Nobody told them, how curious, I didn't know about this med till prescribed and I asked about this matter too to my specialist... Thanks for trustable accountable info
I’m a diabetic. Ozempic helped bring my A1C down from 14.8 (I was in full crisis and hadn’t been diagnosed yet) down to 4.7. (That’s as of last week. I put in the prior one from 6 months ago. Sorry about the mistake). That incredible Ava’s I’m healthier than I’ve been in 20 years. This damn diet trend is preventing me from getting my medication. I’ve had to wait a month or more to get my prescription refills. Since I rarely watch news these days I didn’t know why I couldn’t get my refills until my own doctor told me! So I looked into it myself. This idiotic weight loss trend isn’t a secret. The shortages have been in the need for months!! How do you live with yourself knowing you’re literally causing bodily harm to a people with a life threatening illness who just wants to stay healthy just so you can fit in that stupid dress?? Not only that, for those who don’t have diabetes the side effects are not worth it. I don’t have any choice but to deal with the stomach pain I get from Ozempic because it helps keep my illness in check. You’re willingly risking your health for vanity. Please just give us our medication back. You’re using it for vanity. We NEED it to keep our illness under control.
I feel you on this, I had to go to the hospital early January cuz my bloodsugar was at 414. Given insulin and now on wegovy. I was supposed to be on metformin but ya know. I just want to feel better… I hope you’re doing ok. Maybe try and ask for some anti nausea meds that can work with it

People who had weight loss surgery look this way, too. I call it the melting candle effect. Cuz they look like they’re melting from the chin down. It’s caused by rapid weight loss, and it’s a very real thing.
Man, these videos are so informative. I don't even need to lose weight and never want plastic surgery, but I feel I now know what to say if someone I know mentions one of these topics.

I take it for type 2 and if I don't eat right on schedule or not enough I can drop to low 50's at the drop of a hat. It took me awhile to adjust to that one. It does help though over all. I can't speak for weight loss because I also had undiagnosed Celiac...so either one could have caused my weight loss.
This is just a warning for the younger overweight people: watch your diet and lose weight. Everyone makes it about appearance but it’s not. Nothing to do with that at all. You want to avoid medical issues like diabetes and joint replacements and so much of what can come in 10, 20 years. You deserve a healthy functioning body that gets you places freely.
I developed gastroparesis, which is a form of delayed gastric emptying. I dropped down to 90 lbs and thought I was going to starve to death, and these people are taking medication to do that to themselves. My face still hasn't recovered from the amount of weight I lost so fast, especially since I can't put on any form of significant weight either. Also, I think it's ridiculous that the actual diabetic patients who need this medication to live are facing shortages because people want to lose weight the easy way.
At 2:35 I laughed so loud when the doctor was showing the face of a magazine pinks mannequin in and it's face shriveled up like a raisin!. I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year and I’m only 37. I’ve been eating low carb, exercising, doing IF to lower my blood sugar NATURALLY. As much as possible I don’t want to take too many diabetes meds and some people use it for weight loss 😅 Before I was diagnosed I think I was more than 30lbs overweight, I’ve lost weight NATURALLY. If I’m diabetic with INSULIN RESISTANCE can lose weight through diet and exercise, I’m sure others can do it too. My mother is using mounjaro? Also to lose weight, not because she’s diabetic
This happens when people have weight loss surgery too. Losing the weight quickly and if you are over a certain age your skin can't retain its elasticity and it ends up looking loose and wrinkly.
I've lost 40lbs taking Rybelsus to stabilize my blood sugar, it's also a semaglutide. I had significant fat loss in my face. I attribute that to my age, my face was fuller 20 yrs ago weighing 20 lbs less. I did need to get filler🤷♀️ i look and feel much better.
Ive been on it since may and my face hasn't really aged . I went from 190 to 145. So not too much weight I dont have loose skin on the face but it's also not where I Carry a lot of weight. I'm in the process of going off the meds now. I do have loose belly fat but I had that from carrying my first kid anyways. Overall Im happy with the effects. Being on ozempic was difficult but now that my dose is getting lower Im fine. I definitely would use it as a last resort. My body was definitely in a standstill and seemed to be holding onto it
So many people are taking this stuff that’s kinda impressive how fast people will jump into something with out research. I no longer recognized lots of my friends who in just 2 months lost so much weight that you know is not a healthy way.

I had slow gastric emptying from other medications and all that happened is the food rotted in my stomach - please, just adopt a better diet and lifestyle. PS: I was put on Reglan to treat that issue and that plus all the benzos I was prescribed led to akathisia. Not as severe as Dr Peterson (I was in my 20s) but tremors, unable to sleep/eat, delusions, etc - drugs are NOT the answer.
I had covid last year. 4 months later I had the flu. I lost about 30 lbs during this period. I definitely looked older. I started taking Collagen about 3 weeks ago and my skin already looks bettet.
Weird that they induce gastroparesis since t2 diabetic neuropathy is the number one cause of it naturally. I have GP from autoimmune disease and am fed by tubes into my intestines and heart because of that condition.
Type 2 Diabetic here. I'm on Ozempic. I also have Reactive Hypoglycemia. This is the first time in my entire life that I didn't have serious blood glucose drops multiple times a day. I also have an inflammatory disease and since I started O, my pain has decreased substantially. The downside is the nausea. I had horrible nausea 24/7 like morning sickness. It stopped after 4 months. I am losing weight, but it's not magic, I decreased my calories. But before O, I couldn't eat less than a certain amount without getting sick. I never understood people who would tell me that they "forgot to eat". Before O, my body let me know that I had to eat. Not hunger, but dizziness, sweating, etc. It's so strange to now remind myself to eat. I wish I'd had this drug years ago! As for the availability issue: when the FDA approved Actemra, a drug used for rheumatology, for COVID, the manufacturer DIVERTED the ENTIRE SUPPLY to hospitals mainly for unvaxxed COVID patients. It wasn't even "first come, first served" like with O. Most diabetics have other options than O. If you only knew how furious I felt when people who were anti-vaxxers would say that it was none of my business. Well, people taking medication I NEED because they won't get vaccinated is MY problem. There will always be people ahead of you in line. It's frustrating when their need is vanity or self-induced, but it doesn't mean they shouldn't get it. That's not how things work. That's life. I eventually got Actemra back but I spent months gravely ill. It's just how it is. Sick people don't come first. Money does.
OR you can start a face workout routine, lift and tighten the muscles in your face neck and head. Several years ago I lost 100 pounds over 2 years and I had "Ozempic face" without the Ozempic. I began my workout routine and it worked like a charm! I still do it and at at 65 I do have sun damage and some wrinkles but everything is high and tight.
Strength training with weights as well as Aerobics workouts can also help you lose weight. My workout instructor says that the more muscle you build the more calories you burn even in your sleep/when resting. You don't have to jump into an extreme fad diet to lose weight just build some muscle.
Thank you for telling us all about this medicine, I just heard about this on TV last night and they didn't mention the side effects. You have sold me on not taking this.
Not just the medicine, but the pen needles in the fine gauge are also in short supply. This means type 1 kids (my kid) cannot access the pen needles that are less painful, because people are using this drug. I hate this trend. It's dangerous and selfish if type1 and 2 people are being disadvantaged. It's hard enough as it is.
I am taking ozempic and it acctually makes my skin look better and younger. But I am not loosing weight so fast. Anyone who looses large amounts of weight, with ozempic or not, will have to deal with skin problems. Also, it is important to remember that loosing weight is not necessarily about beauty. Obesity is a serious health condition and ir should be treated as such.
I thankfully haven’t had trouble getting my Ozempic refilled so far but my mom has. Idk if it’s a difference in pharmacies (she gets hers filled at the hospital pharmacy bc she works there, mines at Walmart) or the doses (she’s on 2mg, I’m on 1mg). I’ve def lost some weight but more importantly it keeps my sugars in check. It’s annoying that people who need it control their diabetes, like me and my mom, are having trouble getting their refills. Thankfully I didn’t have any side effects from it aside from not being able to eat nearly as much as I used to lol Metformin on the other hand…. Boy was that rough for a while
I just switched to 2mg and my pharmacy was having issues getting it for about 6 wks. They had no issues with the .5 or 1 mg versions. I just received my first rx of the 2mg. I've been using ozempic for about a year and I haven't had any issues with it. I feel fortunate.
@@sdehaemer yea I kinda figured it was the higher dose pens that were being most affected. Hopefully it gets better soon. In the meantime people using it for diabetes should have priority
Real question though, have collagen supplements actually been shown through studies that they improve collagen loss as we age. So the collagen we lose is replaced by the supplement of collagen we take? I'm just curious as to whether or not there are any studies that prove (or show to an extent) that the collagen supplement does in fact help to improve overall collagen loss as we age.

I feel for you ❤ my mother had to wait for hers because of this.. she didn’t even know about the trend until I told her last night.
But aren’t you on it because you didn’t diet and exercise? Are you naturally obese? Why are you more entitled to it because your situation is more out of control?
You have type 2 diabetes, which indicates you kind of did it to yourself.
I hope pharmacy’s everywhere are doing this.
Isn’t that how it should work anyway? I’m not in healthcare but I just assumed that’s how prescriptions work, but I’m probably super naive 😅
So if you don’t have insurance and are paying out of pocket you’re just shit out of luck regardless of diagnosis?
Tell those drug seeking scavengers to try wiring their jaws shut.
That's good.
For diabetes it great!!! I think the concern is all the patients begging for it to lose weight and not being aware of potential side effects ❤
Wow that’s incredible!! I wish rich people and people trying to lose a quick 20 would understand the MEDICAL NEED for this
I was on ozempic and I'm REALLY hoping I can get back on it soon. I'm also Type 2, due to genetics + a health issue, and was unable to get it because of this being the new "diet fad". I'm going to try my hand at getting it again this year because having to jump around on multiple medications to find something that worked like ozempic did has been a literal nightmare.
❤glad it works for you
And I thought the private script in Australia that they can import for $3550 was too much, its less than $10 on pbs, but its out everywhere, Im type 2 diabetic too, Dr wants to put me on it :( Ae you in the US? Im in Australia
My ex husband was hospitalized with pancreatitis due to ozempic so it is definitely not without side effects. Just think before doing it.
How long did he use it Efore that happened?
I recently asked my new endocrinologist if she'd prescribe it for me. I got a hard HELL NO. Her reason..I actually had 3 attacks of pancreatitis before my doctors finally got a good combination of medications for me.
There are warnings about pancreatitis when using Ozempic.
I hope he is doing okay.
I used to take it, but it made me hungrier than normal, when I was stressed I had very dark thoughts.
I am also a type 2 diabetic. It is not always about excessive weight. Diabetes can also be genetic. Ozempic has helped me greatly, and I do believe that it should be prioritized for ppl who could go into diabetic shock or worse without it. Treat each other with love and kindness, everyone. 💙💙
Type 2 diabetes is NOT genetic.
@@09kenedy 😂😂😂😂
Diabetic shock is a type 1 issue, if youre not producing the insulin to keep Dka from happening anymore then youve become a type 1. They dont prescribe ozempic to type 1s because their problem isnt insulin resistance, their problem is no insulin production.
@@fallenfairyfaye it is definitely more prevalent in type 1, but also can happen in type 2. Thank you for your thoughts and information!
I keep being shocked at how industries can't be regulated to prioritize those with direct medical need for it. It doesn't make sense :(
I've been in Ozempic on and off (due to shortages) for 2yrs and fortunately the only facial change I've noticed is less chins and slightly smaller cheeks
Edit: the gastro issues with it are no joke! I carry Pepto with me everywhere
Yikes!😬
Gravol and pepto bismol are virtually an i.v for me.
The stomach issues are just awful. I have them too. I don’t understand why anyone would put themselves through it when their life doesn’t depend on that medication. There are so many other options out there. I should know. Before my diagnosis I tried all of them and was looking into surgery so I Know the options are out there.
Is it worse than metformin? I had terrible stomach issues with that.

Why would you take an injectable drug that's not prescribed to you? That can be really dangerous.
Wegovy has been life changing for me I’ve lost 115 lbs. and think I look younger now at 54 years of age.

But overall health has improved.
More than likely you will have to be on it for the rest of your life because as soon as you stop taking it, you will gain the weight back.

It's not really "Ozempic" face. This happens with weight loss surgery, too.
Meth/heroin too. Any rapid weight loss.
i was wondering what ozempic was because a couple months ago i was in the er and this girl arrived on a stretcher and i could hear everything because she was "my neighbor" and she had taken her mom's ozempic (to hurt herself) and she was throwing up, she took 3 doses.

Wow...5.3?!
@@stanliemurray2085 Oh dang it. That’s a mistake. My fault. It’s down to 4.7. I’ll fix that. Thank you for bringing it up my attention.
I feel you on this, I had to go to the hospital early January cuz my bloodsugar was at 414. Given insulin and now on wegovy. I was supposed to be on metformin but ya know. I just want to feel better…
I hope you’re doing ok. Maybe try and ask for some anti nausea meds that can work with it
@@A.The.H. Oh gosh! I understand. That’s how I was diagnosed. Worst timing ever too. My former roommate and I were having an argument and suddenly got hit with a blinding headache that doubled me over. Roommate chilled out and called 911. Thank goodness one of the medics decided to take my blood sugar and it was 398. Got my first insulin therapy that day and man did I feel great afterwards! Then off to an endocrinologist for the official diagnosis and treatment. I’m in Basaglar, Ozempic, metformin, and preventative meds for my heart and kidneys. Testing showed I had undiagnosed diabetes for so long that my kidneys took a hit. So I’m beginning stage diabetic kidney disease. Every doctor I went to for 10 years said I wasn’t diabetic, in was just fat. Even though I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes every time I got pregnant. Bastards. So, these drugs are keeping me alive. It’s why these massive Ozempic shortages scare and anger me. I feel really alive and healthy for the first time in ages and I would really rather not die now. Ya know? I don’t want anyone else to either.
I’m doing great now! I feel better than I have in 20 years. I have great energy. I’ve kind of become a fruit bat though lol I usually have one small-ish meal in the evening add graze on fruit in the afternoon and if I want to snack while gaming at night.
I hope you’re able to get yours controlled. Everyone deserves to feel as good as I do!! Take good care of yourself and I hope you feel better really soon.
I’m diabetic 2. On ozempic. Blood sugar is amazing. Was 14.1 now it’s 6.6. But only lost 22 pounds since 8/21.
Good for you! 22 lbs is great and the A1C is even better. I finally convinced the VA to prescribe it for me and should start in a few weeks.
The irony that people put down those who have bariatric surgery claiming it’s a lazy way to lose weight but they’ll take Ozempic to lose weight. Meanwhile they cause drug shortages for those who desperately need it for an actual medial condition.
I've never heard people say surgery is an easy way to lose weight, that's crazy
@@nicoledoubleyou It’s pretty common to hear that as a reason why people shouldn’t have surgery. It’s absurd.
I'm a type 2 diabetic and have had a really hard time getting Ozempic or Mounjaro, I also take Metformin. Both rip up your stomach, it's like you're taking laxatives everyday. I've only lost 4lbs over several months.
So clear which celebrities have used Ozempic
I work in pharmacy and we comment on "Ozempic face" every time another Rx gets filled... And I'll tell ya, we fill A LOT of them!! We are now requiring ICD10 on them before filling
My mom 👩🏻 is 54 years young.. She has struggled with HBP and diabetes. She gained weight after having her fourth C-section, afterwards She had postpartum depression. She’s been using metformin. Due to her obesity she now complains of knee and feet pain…I advised her to ask her PCP if she could try Ozempic… I do hope it helps her loose weight and as well all of the other health issues she has and to bring her spirits up… Thank you for your advice…
My dad hasn't been able to get Trulicity since November. This "fad" is extremely frustrating for my family and is endangering people's lives because of other people's selfishness.
Trulicity (dulaglutide) isn't the same as Ozempic (semaglutide) though, and isn't prescribed for weight loss... I wonder why there's a shortage of that?
@@OG_HazelGrrl Ozempic and Trulicity are both in the drug class called GLP-1 receptor agonists, they are very similar and both have weightloss as a side effect. There is a shortage here in the UK of both and no new patients aren’t being started on them.
I take ozempic for my diabetes. I have lost 60 pounds. I have been blessed with good aging genes. I still look younger than my age. The foods you eat, lots of water, collagen and good skin care has helped with that.
There are really dangerous side effects. Not just nausea. Possible cancer and kidney failure. They don't mention that. It was offered to me free but I did VERY simple Google research. It Put me off. 😢
Dr Curves has his version now... Kim definitely used it, I love them & notice things like that... they dont need to tell us, but would be more respected if up front with us, instead of acting like they be in the gym like that & doing all they do naturally!!!
Thanks for this info. While I'd love to lose a few pounds like everyone else, I think the risks of using it seem too great if you don't truly need it. Plus I would never want to take away a diabetic person's medicine 😕
My pharmacy can’t get it, now people who ACTUALLY need it to live can’t get it because Dr are giving it to who don’t need it.
I’m not diabetic but I appreciate this video.
I am interested in knowing how to help the neck “waddle” with have gained from losing weight at 47 years old. I now have the beginnings of hanging between my chin and neck.
I’m prediabetic and took
Ozempic for 2 months. Due to the shortages and GI issues I’ve stopped. It does work, however. I lost 16 pounds so far.
I am also prediabetic and am taking mounjaro. My doctor warned me of shortages, so I have spaced my doses 10 days apart and he orders refills 20 days out. So far this is working. I have lost 18 pounds in 3 months and my doctor is having my lab work redone next week.
Did you gain it back
@@raniaqueen110 Not yet!
@@TamaraSpain oh that’s good , how was you mood ? I heard it causes bad mood swings and depression
@@raniaqueen110 Actually it was pretty good, BUT the gastrointestinal side effects made me crabby. Other than that, once I got over the nausea I was ok.
I am type 2 diabetic. i have been taking Ozempic for a few months. I had significant weight loss before i started taking Ozempic. I don't want to have my face age. I have always looked younger than what i am. Will taking ozempic make my face age?
I take it for type 2 and if I don't eat right on schedule or not enough I can drop to low 50's at the drop of a hat. It took me awhile to adjust to that one. It does help though over all. I can't speak for weight loss because I also had undiagnosed Celiac...so either one could have caused my weight loss.
I'm gonna be honest, this is the first time I've seen that filter on Kim k which calls into question all of ur work
I used to work in a pharmacy and SO MANY PEOPLE asked for Ozempic it was crazy. We had to be extra careful and filter out the diabetic vs not.
It's up to your doctor to make that determination
This makes me livid! I have a family member with Type II waiting to get her medication. This is really wrong.
At 2:35 I laughed so loud when the doctor was showing the face of a magazine pinks mannequin in and it's face shriveled up like a raisin!. LOL 😂 now I am more motivated than ever to contact my doctor because I want to tell her that I want the ozempic face. That looks like a new and interesting look. LOL 😂
Did it make you nauseous??
Thank you for your expert advice Dr Youn! Re: facial fat loss have you heard of the product called Adipeau? It is supposed to plump up fat cells on the face, particularly the lower face.
Look up Dr. Drays most recent video on it
@@roshni6767 I didn’t see it when I searched. Are you sure that she reviewed Adipeu? I saw a similar word that was something different but not Adipeu .

Does Sculptra help your body produce collagen? Therefore does it last longer?
I father needs injections for his type 2. He wasn’t able to get his shots for months and it sucked. The affects it puts on their bodies and when getting back on, you gotta build you’re way back up again.
I love the Youn Collagen and love to use it in my protein shake or coffee. I have studied the benefits of collagen and like what I have researched about Dr. Youn’s. I’ve been using it about a year now! ❤
What kind of collagen? ❤
Weird that they induce gastroparesis since t2 diabetic neuropathy is the number one cause of it naturally.
I have GP from autoimmune disease and am fed by tubes into my intestines and heart because of that condition.
This is an add - great posting Dr..,
Type 2 Diabetic here.
I still do it and at at 65 I do have sun damage and some wrinkles but everything is high and tight.
hi jenny what is your face workout routine? thankyou!
Are you saying it’s just the normal effects of weight loss that cause Ozempic Face? I am confused.
When I lost weight - not with Ozempic - the first place it showed was my face.
Yes, anytime someone loses weight the face can lose weight too.
Good I’m glad there are a complication its just most people will just get fillers and botox to offset this effect.
Thanks for sharing another great video I really enjoy them all 😊
Hi
Do you ship your collagen to India??
Yes, but you have to pay with gift cards.
Is it causing gastroparris? Where the food you ingest sits for hour in your stomach before being digested?
The only doctor I trust
The Ozempic commercials should redo their jingle to “Oh Oh Oh No Ozempic!”
Auto parts 😂
Real question though, have collagen supplements actually been shown through studies that they improve collagen loss as we age. So the collagen we lose is replaced by the supplement of collagen we take? I'm just curious as to whether or not there are any studies that prove (or show to an extent) that the collagen supplement does in fact help to improve overall collagen loss as we age.
My mother is diabetic and had to wait for her medicine because of this Ozempic craze.
So sad to know that people who need it have to wait and stupid people using it for vanity.
