It's easy to make cool trailers.
But now that the game is here, I can confirm: this is up there with the original Resident Evil and Silent hill games. We need more stories in this world, it's a masterpiece.

The anime but dark sci-fi aesthetic is giving me some serious BLAME vibes, but honestly you already had me at "classic survival horror experience". Going to wishlist this right now and look forward to it.

There is that story of Dali, who once accused a movie director that he "stole his dreams!", because he directed a film that apparently already existed in Dalis head. For me this game is kinda that. There aren't many videogames that really speak to me on such a level. I can't wait to play it.

Here are my observations:
The music is from the Raindrop prelude (Prelude Op. 28 No. 15) by Frédéric Chopin.
The scene at 0:42 looks like the painting "Die Toteninsel" ("Isle Of The Dead") by Arnold Böcklin.
The revolver at 0:27 is a Chiappa Rhino, 2" barrel version (differing from other revolvers in having its barrel aligned with the lowest position of the drum).
More like paintings, he painted multiple versions.
00:53 is a Ghost In The Shell reference
Sidenote: The painting „isle of dead“ (third version) was hanging on a wall in the office of Adolf Hitler. He was a big fan of Böcklin.

also the voice in the background says "Achtung" which is german for attention and later you hear some random german numbers
I want to be honest, this is one of the best games I've played in my 29 years. an interesting plot, an incomparable atmosphere, I want to mention the musical arrangement separately, all these signals on the radio inspire some kind of unnatural horror and penetrate right inside you. A very warm thank you to Yuri Stern & Barbara Wittmann for their masterpiece of art
For everyone interested what the voice in back is saying, because its german and means:

in case i have missunderstood something, im happy to correct myself
Also, as good (bad) translated the asian character are chinese and the letters mean the following:
The letters at 0:20:: 圣忘录, should mean something like "Holy oblivion"
The letters at 0:38:: 黄衣 [can't write this one] 王, should mean "The king in Yellow" (obviously i know)
The letters at 0:55:: [can't write this one] 命错误, should mean "Fatal Error" (the text below, obviously i know)

I'm pretty sure that ノ is actually a japanese katakana "no" and this is weird, usually hiragana is used here instead.. Probably copyright issues. Not handy enough with Japanese to make an educated guess here.
Everything else is in Chinese, agreed. I'm a bit confused how the book is in Japanese and everything else is in Chinese. But maybe there is a reason for that in the game plot?

The stuff from beginning 数据存储 is "data storage". Other things I've noticed: 梯子 is "ladder", 备忘录 is smth like "reminder", according to google translator. 储 was quite a problem to parse because of complexity and video quality..
0:27 if I'm not mistaken, it's 鹊. Probably a name? "Què"
And second one you couldn't write is 致, just for the sake of completeness. The translation is correct
Btw, I get it why they would want German voicelines in their game since the developers seem to be from Germany. But why did they add all this Asian stuff? It looks rather competent, yet so unnecessary. A bit overkill just to add some eastern cyberpunk vibes: the game itself is in English and if not to count all the native speakers and Chinese language users, it's not like anyone besides me, this topic author and maybe other 3.5 people is going to get curious, translate, leave alone comprehend it..
@@herumitto "鹊" is a magpie, which pops up as a pretty common motif across a lot of Chinese artwork but especially literature as a sort of benevolent messenger (and which has a much different, possibly more sinister association in European culture...). I reckon it's the Chinese transliteration of the main character's name Elster, which in German also translates to "magpie". How much bearing that has symbolically or otherwise, well, it's probably a bit too early to say anything for certain...
You're right about the weird title of The King in Yellow; whether in Japanese or Chinese (I've seen a not-insignificant number of Chinese signage etc that uses the hiragana "の", which is a rough equivalent to the katakana "ノ"), "The King in Yellow" is much more commonly written as "黄衣の王". There are some potential implications depending on whether you choose to read it in Chinese or in Japanese, as well as how you factor in the cultural significance of including a Japanese character if you choose to read it in the former (and a somewhat esoteric implementation of such at that) but at that point, once again, it's just idle speculation so it's not worth much.
As for your last point...
I find the game's usage of Chinese to be, at least from what we've seen so far, valid in the sense that it seems like there's been a pretty consistent effort in its application (save for the discrepancy above, which may or may not be intentional given how singular and strange it is, even just in general). If all the equipment and interfaces were designed by/for and used by Chinese workers, it would follow pretty naturally that many if not all of the interfaces would be in Chinese, the same way that the Sevastopol in Alien: Isolation makes frequent use of Russian markings. The flaw of most East-facing cyberpunk is that it has a tendency to kinda completely fail to grasp how linguistics (or if we're being really honest, culture, or technological development, or socialisation, or... ad nauseam) works, and East Asian languages in those works tend to be applied really inconsistently in a scattershot fashion as little more than aesthetic dressing. As far as I can tell this game doesn't seem to suffer much from that on surface level.
Anyways, I imagine most of the game's extradiegetic interface and dialogue is in English because, well, it's simply convenient (and probably necessary in a marketing sense) that way since most of the players will probably have some kind of knowledge of English over, say, Chinese. I think it's pretty safe to justify it on a meta-interpretive level as the game itself translating the characters' knowledge of their language into something familiar for most players, the same way subtitles aren't really generally considered "part" of a film's narrative itself, but exist as an often-necessary component of the overall experience.
(As for the German, China and Germany in the present day have a very strong relationship as trading partners in terms of technology and manufacturing exports. Depending on when the game takes place and how much it extrapolates from present conditions, it's very believable for their to be a significant German presence as well, whether linguistic or cultural or both, wherever this station happens to be.)

I’ve rewatched this like 9 times since posting this. It’s like the Resident evil 1 we never got, but in space and with a beautiful anime inspired art style. There isn’t a single thing In this trailer I didn’t like. I’m more than looking forward to playing this game.

Like, even with it's influence from analog, cosmic, and psychological horror, there's just nothing else quite like it. I can't imagine how someone would even think of some of it, it's so bizarre, haunting, beautiful, philisophical and utterly captivating.

SOMA filled me with a sense of dread i've never felt before and didn't know i was capable of feeling. This also looks like it could stray off the path into an untrodden darkness. Can't wait.

I’ve never been a fan of playing horror, just never liked the idea of scaring myself. But now, the only reason I haven’t bought it is because I’m mentally preparing myself to play it, got vibes of blame, ghost in the shell amount others things I can’t put my tongue on. If this game is already super popular I hope it still gets more recognition, because it deserves it.
