Mate, it has to do with the genetics, those electric blue JDs usually have weak genes. Biggest one I’ve seen was only 4”
I had 6 of them all got to about 7 8 inch until I rehomed them one of the hardiest fish I’ve had
Them Oscar’s are just tiger Oscar will change colour as they age

Great video. Set up a tank a few months ago for a EBJD. Told to be ready for it not to last long but you know. Gone from about an inch and already has doubled in size. I know you have to be optimistic but touch wood everything at the moment is looking good.

I picked up a electric blue jack and a standard jack 2 weeks ago, I’ve heard the same as you that they don’t tend to last that long, and the shop assured me the same as you that a few years ago the blood line was utter toilet! But now its meant to be a lot so hopefully we both have some good luck with them 😂

Can you recommend any good discus sellers/breeders in the uk who sell large discus?
100% recommend Chen’s Discus in Doddington, Cambs. He has fantastic discus of sizes from small up to largest size I’ve ever seen. All my Discus are Chen’s. Really tough fish as well.
